I live in Virginia and each time I need some bbq done right I HAPPILY carry my little brown behind over to T&J. The service is very welcoming and the food is even better. The area and ambience gives bbq vibes. It's definitely a yes yes yes every time for me

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. They have the best pork chops around Maryland to the point where I don't even want to cook pork chops anymore. This is my go to place at least once a week guaranteed. I always ask for the fatty chops.

Delicious ribs, chicken, and side salads (coleslaw and potato salad). My favorite were the ribs and coleslaw. The ribs were tender and had some fat on them, just how I like them. I also liked the coleslaw a lot. It wasn't bland and it was creamy unlike at other places. I'd give those two items five stars.I also tried the minced pork and thought it was average, but I didn't eat it with any sauce and that could have made a difference.Glad I don't live close by because I would be getting the ribs and coleslaw weekly and go broke. When my husband and I see our friends, I will definitely be asking to stop by here. My new favorite rib and coleslaw joint.

T & J Barbecue has been my favorite BBQ place for 20 plus years. I used to eat here regularly when it was run by the first generation, then I moved out of county. Many BBQ places have good food, but T & J BBQ has the best flavor around the DMV. Today, I was driving out of Charles County, about to pass another popular BBQ place in Hughesville, when I thought to myself, this place I'm about to pass is good, but I'm in the mood for the best BBQ. So I pulled over and looked up T& J Barbecue online and discovered they are still in business and they were OPEN. Without hesitation, I drove from Hughesville, to LaPLata, just to see if T & J BBQ was as good as I remembered. I ordered the half rib/half chicken meal with mild sauce, and a minced Pork sandwich. The flavor was delicious just as I hoped it would still be, and the sauce is the best too. They give you some white bread to sop up the extra sauce too. Pure heaven. I ate half my meal in the parking lot, then went back to the counter to purchase another sauce and a beverage. They are not stingy with the sauce, I just wanted more for home use. I could actually survive on a half a loaf of bread and that sauce if I had to. Thanks for another great BBQ meal. It was worth the drive out of my way to get the best BBQ.

Great local owned bbq shack. Hungry on a weekend? Perfect spot for a quick, quality pulled pork sandwich or a rack of ribs. Been going here for years. Now they have a nice little picnic area too

The food was delicious! Customer service was great! I love that I can sit outside and eat my food. And it took us no time to eat the food because we were hungry LOL. This is my second time there and both times we had great experiences. We were introduced to this restaurant by someone else and we would definitely go back!

LOVE this place!!! I literally travel roughly an hour and half round trip just to get this que!!! This is authentic BBQ and not that stuff that you get from those chain restaurants. The sauce is amazing and portion size is plentiful. If you're ever down that way and in the mood for some good bbq, T & J is worth the stop.
