Sweetwater has been a staple in my life since I was a kid and it never disappoints! I've grown up dining here, starting with the kid's menu and now enjoying their regular menu with my family. Our go-to appetizer is the Blue Crab & Shrimp Fritters, they're truly a must try. Crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor, they are paired perfectly with the grilled corn salsa and lobster ginger sauce. We also can't visit without indulging in the Ozzie rolls. They're incredibly soft, buttery, and just melt in your mouth. For my main course, I had the Wood Grilled Filet Mignon and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The roasted cremini mushrooms added a wonderfully earthy depth of flavor and the mashed potatoes were rich and comforting. The field greens salad, with its light vinaigrette and sweet pops of dried cranberries, was fresh and delicious and my family loved it too.Sweetwater Tavern continues to be a place of amazing food and cherished memories for me and my family. Highly recommend!

We came here for my dad's birthday with a reservation, a few days before Christmas. We knew we were running late, so we called ahead to shift the reservation, but the restaurant was extremely busy when we arrived, so we still had to wait about 20 minutes for our table after we checked in. The staff were all kind, but seemed overwhelmed, and perhaps a little green. We ordered drinks from the bar, which were lovely, but they arrived late (with many apologies), because the service bar was really backed up. The food was good, and the prices were reasonable (I loved the hangar steak and Caesar salad!), but my dad's dish either got delivered to another table or got dropped on the floor, so it arrived maybe 10-15 minutes after the rest of the food, which put us in a strange position of whether we should eat our food while it was hot or wait for the birthday celebrant to get his meal. Again, the staff were very apologetic about it, and a manager came by to apologize. They did offer to comp us a side while he waited, but we declined, since my dad just wanted the meal he'd ordered (we did ask for another bread basket, which never arrived). We ordered a flourless chocolate waffle for my dad, which was quite tasty, and it came out with a nice happy birthday message on the plate, but we were charged for it, which was a bit of a surprise between the delay with his meal and it being a birthday treat. The service was friendly and the food was good, so I might come back again, but not if it was anywhere near as busy as it was last night.

Sweetwater Tavern to me is primarily about two things: consistency and good beer. When you come here you know that the chicken will be cooked thoroughly, the salads will be prepared as they were the last time, and the beer on tap will knock your socks off. The Wood Grilled Chicken Breast has quickly become a favorite of mine, but I'm biased because I'm a sucker for cremini mushrooms in a brown butter sauce. The sauce alone could carry half the dishes at this place, but it pairs perfectly with the angel hair pasta. The warm goat cheese salad adds just the right amount of tang to an otherwise average iteration on a theme. The spiced pecans pair well with the goat cheese, but there aren't enough of them to really drive a change in flavor. And no meal could be complete without the delightful Ozzie rolls and honey butter. Talk about an easy way to ruin your appetite, thank god there weren't too many. The restaurant is comfortable, laid out the same way in the various locations. There are tvs playing live sports around the room and the beer list over the entrance delights with its hand drawn representations of each festive drink. Come with your family, bring a DD.

One of the Great American Restaurant Group (GAR). They are a brewery. Food is fantastic and the available brews are one the chalkboard over the entrance. Definitely a special occasion destination

Haven't dined at Sweetwater Tavern in years. My favorite was their chopped salad with the buttermilk dressing, and is what I ordered with grilled chicken, when I visited Friday evening 2/7. To my horror, the server brought me a salad with spring lettuce, with no other ingredients, not chopped and the grilled chicken was dry and over cooked, I handled the salad, although it was not what I ordered, but couldn't swallow the chicken. My server was happy to bring another round of dry and overcooked chicken. What a horrible experience. I won't go back there. Service was excellent.Rosalyn in Ashburn

As you can see, I had a bad experience here 14 years ago and never returned. That was a HUGE mistake. My family and I went to Sweetwater tonight and had an excellent dinner that greatly exceeded our expectations! First, and most importantly, our server Justin was top-notch. Justin was attentive, made excellent recommendations, and was always on top of things. Justin alone was enough to change my mind about this restaurant, but the food was also excellent! The hanger steak, salmon, and ribs were all amazing! We highly recommend the brussel sprouts with bacon and pecans! Lastly, the restaurant is clean, warm, and large enough to not be too loud or feel cramped. We'll be back soon and hope to sit with Justin again!

We had dinner there on 9/27/2024. My wife had lobster bisque as an appetizer. It was delicious. It was creamy, had that umani flavor. My only criticism is that the pieces of lobster were very small. I had the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. The shrimp were crispy. The sauce was tasty, had a little kick to it. My wife had the kids tenderloin with mashed potatoes. The steak was tender, nicely seasoned, delicious. The mashed potatoes were a little dry. They needed a little more milk or cream. The little cup of gravy on the side was delicious.I had the fish tacos with French fries. The fish was nice and crispy. The habenero slaw was decent. Needed some more vinegar. Personally I would have thought the slaw would have more kick. Overall, the tacos were very tasty. The fries were very thin. They were nice and crispy. Overall, it was a very good meal.

Don't frequent this Sweetwater location as often as there is one closer to our house, but we happened to be in the Sterling area for lunch. Just like any other GAR location, service is always outstanding as well as the food. Everything is delicious. Gotta get the ozzie rolls of course!

Food: not the fantastic tastes that we rely on when we come to a GAR. The bread basket was cold and Ozzie rolls stale. Firecracker shrimp fell apart. My halibut was good but mashed potatoes were somewhat lukewarm.Service: fantastic, our server was on point for everything, came to visit and check on us multiple times. I gave her my bread comment and she tried to explain that possibly she may have grabbed a basket that was already sitting there.Ambiance: we came for an early reservation to avoid the GAR dinner crowd. Maybe it was a mistake because the food was not as consistent. Tips: they do take reservations via Resy. Lots of outdoor parking. Bread basket contains 4 pieces and they charge you $1
