Sushi On is a AYCE buffet style restaurant inside of Fair Oaks Mall. This is a good option for a casual dining when you are craving a sushi fix. Quality is not all there but it does the job when you want sushi. Ny nephew and I came during lunch and the place was already bustling at 11:30am when they first opened. We were seated promptly and went to the sushi bar to get our sushi selections. The were a good amount of different sushi selections-- ranging from the standard rolls to nigiri. On the other side of the buffet area; there is a soup bar (premade soups, a pick your own ingredients soup bar (udon and hot pot soup, hot food bar and a dessert bar. Service was fast and timely. Sushi was alright and does the job... the best part is the price. Lunch is $27.95 ans $13.98 for kids. What a bang for your buck! I will try to come back for the dinner options!

Seafood buffet? I wouldn't call it that although 33 bucks for dinner says otherwise. One of the worst Asian themed buffets I've eaten in my life, and I've eaten at some 5.99 sh!tholes. Way overpriced and uncomfortably crowded. The ice-cold, overcooked or even mushy snow crab-legs that they put out very sparingly hardly justifies the price. Standard fare you'll find in a suburban Asian buffet, everything was overcooked, cold and unremarkable.Short rib thingies were waxy, cold and tough, oysters on the half-shell were also mushy and tasted like they were harvested from the Anacostia river. The chicken in the chicken dishes had a very rough life. The sushi was absolutely flavorless. I've had 100 times better from a gas station in Memphis. Absolutely awful. Maybe I just caught it on a bad night, but right now I hate myself for eating there. I really don't understand all the glowing reviews, which I read before I tried this place. The price does not reflect the quality of the experience. If it were 12.99 I might have given it two stars.Save your money and go to Golden Coral on shrimp night.

Oh, we absolutely loved this place! The prices are fantastic, with lunch at just $26 and dinner at $39. The variety of sushi and seafood they offer is impressive, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. The customer service was exceptional. The staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. They were quick to refill our drinks and clear our plates, enhancing the overall dining experience. The environment was clean and pleasant, with a nice ambiance that made the meal even more enjoyable. It's clear that the management takes pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and creating a comfortable atmosphere for their guests.Overall, this sushi buffet exceeded our expectations, and we can't wait to come back!

Cleanliness and timely service are what you will consistently find here, even on weekends when it is buzzing. Despite the inflation, I still find the value to be up to par, especially with the expansive sushi bar and endless supply of snow crab legs, a crowd favorite. The one area where I'd expect more options are the actual hot entrees, but there is so much more happening that you can always make the few staples like the Korean ribs, the spicy chicken, and a few more they serve to work.

Sushi On offers a vast menu featuring dishes from across East Asia, going beyond just sushi and also have dedicated dessert section!Space & Ambiance: The restaurant itself is large and spacious, perfect for bigger groups. However, be prepared for a wait on weekends, as it gets quite crowded. I waited about 30 minutes for a table on my visit.Food Rundown: While the menu boasts variety, the execution wasn't consistent across the board. The sushi, in particular, fell short with a thicker layer of rice than I prefer. The rest of the food I tried ranged from mediocre to slightly below average.Recommendation: If you're looking for a spacious restaurant with a wide range of East Asian options, this could be worth a try, especially for larger groups. However, if high-quality sushi is your top priority, you might want to consider other options.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Sushi On is a staple for my family as we have been coming here for years, like maybe a decade or so now back when it was still called Todai. We even have a tradition in recent years where we have Christmas Eve dinner together there, so it is very special to me. It is by far the best buffet we have ever experienced. The quality is pretty darn good for a buffet and the service is always excellent. The staff is always so kind, and we enjoy our meal every time. Some of our favorite items are the crab legs, the soup station, and their sushi options! We absolutely love Sushi On!

This is the best AYCE sushi buffet in the dmv area. There is a very long wait and they don't take reservations so I highly suggest you come early. I came for lunch, and although it was nearly an hour wait it was WORTH IT!! The sushi variety was incredible!! There was so much to choose from! It was fresh and so delicious! Don't skip out on the sashimi salad! There's also an udon/shabu shabu bar, the typical cooked noodles dishes, seafood like seasoned crawfish, and galbi! It was so tender and charred to perfection. There was a huge line for the galbi and for pretty much everything! The staff were attentive and quick to refill popular items like galbi, sushi and crawfish. They also had really good calamari! I was surprised by it! Everything was so delicious wow! Also there is a coffee bar! Pro tip- put ice cream with coffee for an affogato! SO YUM! The ambience was good, lots of space, so many tables! I am surprised it is so popular!!

You will get unlimited sushi, desserts, miso and shabu shabu, and a hot dish buffet. It will cost you around $41 per adult. My kids love it, I don't. Why you ask? The sushi quality is just mediocre at best, sure you can eat all you want (great for the teens in the family), but I prefer quality over quantity; besides, you can get good sushi for $41. If the sushi was good (not necessarily fantastic) it might be worth it to go every so often, I just don't see the value proposition... but it could just be me.

For a buffet that only charges $15.99 for lunch, this is a great value buffet.Given the price, the quality of sushi offered here are decent, along with other limited selections of meats, vegetables and seafood, but tasty.Flavor or the foods are ok. Some of the popular items ran out fast like steamed muscles, kalbi, sweet and sour pork, etc. Service was efficient, and attentive.Seatings are fairly clean. Do recommend this buffet for its value . @winedinenvacay
