Let's talk about this place: vibes? Immaculate. Food? So good! Service? Our server was so attentive I felt like a VIP, and I'm pretty sure they have mind-reading abilities because my glass was never empty.I ordered the meatballs and Brussels sprouts, which were so good I briefly considered ordering a second round just for the walk home. My friend got the Mexican hash and immediately went silent, which I assume meant they were having a spiritual experience. The drinks? Smooth, refreshing, and just the right level of "I deserve this."The staff was incredibly friendly And then, just when I thought I couldn't love this place more, I tried their bakery items. I don't know what kind of sorcery they put into those cookies, but I'm still thinking about them.Needless to say, I'll be back for dinner. If you see someone there looking way too excited for their meal, it's probably me.

I have heard a lot about Summer House Santa Monica since I was in middle school, I am so surprised I have not come sooner. I came tonight for a last minute dinner with my friend. When walking in, I instantly noticed how large of a space they have. I really like how it is decorated, classy but not too much going on that it is overbearing. As well as I liked their menu options, I felt like there was a nice mix of everything ranging from salmon or ahi tuna nachos to pasta to steak. A great drink menu as well, with a good list of mocktails to chose from. I tried their cucumber cooler mocktail, it was nicely blended with a lot of cucumbers and tasted really good. I only wish that maybe there was a little bit more of the drink for the price ($9) as I felt I only had a few sips and it was gone; especially since it was only cucumber, lemon and soda water. I split the salmon nachos and the rigatoni alla vodka pasta with my friend. I felt both had good size portions. The salmon nachos were my favorite, a nice combination of flavors and i liked that they added cucumbers to it. For the pasta, it was good but I wish there was a little bit more flavor or presentation to it for the price. I also was expecting more of a lighter more alla vodka tasting sauce, this one tasted more like a marinara. I was a little disappointed because I felt like as if it was something I could have made. I did like the pees added to it, although the whole dish was kind of drowning in sauce. I want to come back again and try out one of their cocktails and the steak frites as that sounds delicious. They also have tasty desserts on display in the front that look really good. Parking is also a major plus here as the garage right across the street is 2 hours free, there is street parking and a garage along the side of the building.

I came here recently, ordering fish & chips and a martini for Sunday lunch. The chips were extremely bland, perhaps as a nod to the UK. Only two pieces. The tartar sauce was the best I ever had. The chips were very good, which I topped with malted vinegar from a Heinz bottle that has seen better days. My martini was lacking. My date had the baja tacos, which she liked. I sampled her guac, which was excellent. There just wasn't much. She had one of their featured mixed cocktails that she enjoyed. I left hungry, which is never a good thing when dining out. This is a nice area. Lots of stores and ample garage parking that begins to accrue cost after two hours.

Better for Happy Hour and Dinner I've eaten here for brunch, lunch, dinner and happy hour. This Brunch was not great, so I don't think they are great at brunch. I will say they truly excel at happy hour, lunch and dinner. I've had wonderful happy hours and dinners here. They had really excellent service, delicious breads and fantastic ambiance. My son absolutely loves their burgers and we both love their pasta, which comes vegetarian or you can spice it up with seafood or meat. I love the theme of the restaurant, eternal Summer, with cool California vibes, a warm atmosphere and beautiful summer colors. Their dessert section is genius, you can get treats to go after a quick stop in or you can order dessert after your meal. There's various Rice Krispy Treats, and a wide selection of cookies. I will caution you, this restaurant is extremely popular and busy on the weekends, so make a reservation ahead of time. And if you are looking to try this place out, try them during happy hour. They have a limited menu for drink special during happy hour. Hope this helps, if you are on the fence of eating at Summer House.

As someone who has tried countless cookie shops, I can confidently say this is my absolute favorite place for cookies. I've been coming here for years, and I've never been disappointed. The cookies are always fresh and full of flavor. The "cookie shop" is nestled inside a lively restaurant with upbeat atmosphere. On my most recent visit, I picked up:Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie ($4.50)Giant-sized and absolutely indulgent! Though there was no description, I could taste the richness of brown butter, hints of caramel, and perfectly bittersweet chocolate. These cookies are not overly stuffed or doughy, but instead have a crisp edge with a wonderfully chewy center. Warm them up, and they become irresistibly gooey. The touch of sea salt balances the sweetness perfectly, making this cookie an absolute treat.Lemon Cookie ($4.50)This one is a bit more cakey, reminiscent of a lemon crinkle cookie. It's not overly tart, so even those who usually avoid lemon desserts will enjoy this one. The vanilla glaze adds just the right amount of sweetness, mellowing the citrus flavor beautifully.Another standout is their Brown Butter Rice Crispies - a nostalgic favorite with an elevated twist. The combination of chewy marshmallow and a crisp cookie is divine, especially when paired with the chocolate chip cookie. While the service was adequate, it felt a bit impersonal, and I didn't experience much warmth.

Such a warm and inviting atmosphere inside and the service was great. We were seated immediately and our drinks came out so fast. We each ordered a signature cocktail and all of them were made well and had great flavor. I opted for the edamame which was nice and cooked well. Others at our table ordered sandwiches which they really enjoyed. We weren't able to on our visit but there are a lot of fun outdoor seating options to take advantage of during nice weather.

Came here for a family dinner and had the green chile enchiladas. Portion was a little small for the price but loved the taste, a little bit of kick but not too spicy, and was a really nice looking dish to top it off. Good kids meals option too, though atmosphere is a little louder and more crowded than what is ideal for kids. Solid spot if you're looking for farm to table American near Pike and Rose, wouldn't go out of my way to try though

First thing I noticed upon arriving was how cold the place was --- and it's the middle of December! Quite a few people having to wear coats while eating their meal. Everyone at our table kept their coats on too. When I looked up, I saw the overhead lights moving with the cold air blowing on them. I should have asked why it was so cold in the restaurant but didn't. Needless to say, I had to keep my down coat on the whole time.We started with the parmesan truffle fries as a group appetizer. There was plenty and I loved the aioli. You do need to ask for more of the aioli because a tiny container was certainly not enough for the whole plate and five people. They were more than accommodating and brought us two more aioli and ketchup. The fish and chips were good. There was a good amount of crispiness to the fish batter. Would have liked to have more of the fish than an entire plate of fries. We also tried the cheeseburger. Our server offered a list of other sides but failed to mention that there was an up charge. It would have been nice to know because we didn't understand later on why the meal was a little more pricey. There was also a 3% surcharge that I saw on their website which I was prepared to ask that they remove but when we asked for our checks, our server said we could pay with the qr code on our table. I thought that was quite convenient for our group so we just picked which were our items. My only complaint here was that the 3% surchage was hidden upon the fees and it can't be removed by me. It took some time for our server to come back to our table. We figured once she gave us the qr code, there was no need for her to come. So we reluctantly paid the surcharge. Our server was definitely friendly and knowledgeable. Food was good. The decor was lovely. Just a couple of annoyances such as the cold room temperature, lack of advisement of the upcharge in sides, and the surcharge made it difficult to give a higher mark.

I've been to this Summer House countless times in the past year, since my office moved to Pike & Rose. I personally think this is one of the best restaurants in the area, especially if you love salads...and cookies. Most recently my husband and I decided to come here for their weekend brunch. At first we weent sure if we wanted brunch food or not , so the easier brought us the regular menu too.Hubby had the pizza with pepperoni and sausage - and he loved it. (I did too... because he shares a piece.) I had the crispy chicken sandwich, which was as good as you would hope and came with sliced avocado which added a nice freshness to what may have been an otherwiseheavy sandwich. The crispy fries were delicious and I returned the favor for the taste of pizza by splitting my fries with the hubs. They were very busy, but service was still great. And hubby surprised me with two cookies to go (because I was too stuffed to have one immediately.

Great place to grab dinner! The restaurant looks nice inside and our server was very attentive. I got the butternut squash ravioli with Italian sausage and it was good. The sausage tasted good but I thought the ravioli sauce could've used more flavor.
