Southwest Soda Pop Shop

Came here after happy hour for dessert, after walking around. It's at the end of the walkway at the wharf. We got ice cream with brownie bites and ended up paying like $14. It was good but we couldn't finish it because it was so sweet.

The ice cream here is fantastic! I got a scoop of ice cream and it was delicious and had the most amazing texture.I stopped by southwest soda pop shop around 8pm on a Friday night. It was pretty busy, but we got lucky with our orders (they came out quick).The staff here was really nice and you could tell they cared. It seemed like the whole family was working (mother, grandmother, and child) which was really cute.I'd highly recommend this shop!

Great little ice cream shop! Me and my friends stopped by while we were in the area and I'm glad we did. Service was fast, the ice cream was good, and we were all happy with our orders!I got a butter pecan milkshake which I loved. It was a great consistency and they were nice and generous with the whipped cream on top! My friend got the strawberry milkshake which was equally delicious.I'd definitely come back here!

The people working behind the counter were super nice and welcoming. The service was super fast. This is by far the best ice cream I have ever had ( I would recommend the strawberry double scoop).

If you're ever visiting the Wharf in DC, or want a sweet treat, Southwest Soda Pop Shop is definitely a stop worth making!Southwest Soda Pop Shop is a black-owned and operated business located in a hip container shop across from the seafood market at the Wharf. In addition to ice cream and shakes, you can find lite snacks and desserts. Everything was made from scratch and the strawberry shake I had had chunks of fresh strawberries in it!All-in-all this is a great stop for some old-fashion ice cream.

$6 for soft serve is a bit steep but I was really craving ice cream. I decided to get a milkshake instead since for a dollar more I could get more ice cream. I got the cookie dough flavor which was primarily vanilla ice cream with small bits of cookie dough chunks and some chocolate pieces. You order at the window and they call your number when your order is ready. There is some shaded spots around the corner but it's a bit crowded. There are also some tables out front but they are directly in the sun.

Soda Pop shop is located in the wharf area near the seafood market. This place usually has a long line but I was lucky that day to have one person in front of me so I didn't have to wait long to place my order. I decided to get a single scoop butter pecan on a sugar cone. It took about 15-20minutes to fill my simple order after it was place. I did notice that the person in front of me had a large order (about 5 shakes) and the manager looks like she was training new employees. The ice cream wasn't hard enough so the employees suggested that I get a cup. Overall the flavor was good and they had pieces of pecan in the ice cream but I do wished that ice cream was more solid. I'm looking forward to going back and trying other flavors and the shakes.

I have refrained from writing this review for a year now, but today was the final straw for me. I have been trying to patron this black-owned business for over a year. I've come to The Wharf about 3 times just to visit this place and they were not open despite their store hours stating they were open. Finally, I get here during 4th of July weekend figuring they'd be open. They were. I ordered several things. Two of my order items needed to be fried: Strawberry Shortcake Bites and Funnel Cake Fries. It took 25 minutes of waiting before I asked for an update. They kept telling me "it'll be a few minutes". It was not. The fryer was not on and still needed to heat up to temperature. I had places to go, so I had to cancel my order.They could have communicated the issue with the fryer at the moment I ordered. I'm done trying to patron this place. I'm more disappointed that I consistently have these type issues with black owned restaurants. Please do better. There are people who strive to give you my money, but I can't even do that!

Went there today my daughter and I ordered the funnel cake fries. It took a long time to come out and when we finally got them they had so much powdered sugar on them we could not enjoy them. The girl working there mentioned she put too much sugar on them and didn't offer to fix them again. How do you have a no return or alter policy and you incorrectly prepare the items???Also the two girls working there wereusing foul language the whole time talking to each other. There are no prices listed we payed $24 for 2 funnel cake fries and bad service. I will not be supporting this business here again.
