Southern Style Chicken & Waffle

Friendly order-taker advised that the chicken would be ready in 15-20 min-- it took all of that and then some because it is made to order. I waited at one of the few tables in the well--lit dining area until the chicken was ready. (mine was aside of coleslaw. Baby! That chicken was worth the wait! I got the regular fried chicken with a side of slaw.Unfortunately, I went to an event where 3 girlfriends helped me eat my leg and 2 thighs (succulent and juicy). Now I'm gonna have to go back so that I can get to eat the chicken by myself. The coleslaw was good. The chicken was gone before I got to try either of the sauces (sweet/spicy and "signature") in my bag.The only thing I didn't like about my meal was the $15 that I paid for three pieces of chicken.

I was pleasantly surprised by this southern-style chicken and waffle restaurant! Initially, I was skeptical, thinking the name might would match the taste being that I do not consider Northern VA "the south", but I was proven wrong. The waffles were perfect, and the fried chicken was absolutely delicious. The Arnold Palmer tea was spot on, too! They even have a special hot sauce that I believe they make in-house--it's perfect! And their creamy macaroni and cheese is baked to perfection. You can tell that the recipes are mastered, like something your grandmama's older sister would whip up--except the banana pudding, everything was "my favorite." Definitely worth a visit!

I'll give them a 3.75 stars because the waffle and chicken wings tasted pretty good. I'm not sure if they had to go kill the chicken before it got to me because it took over an hour to get to me. And they forgot to include the utensils even though I put that on my order. Not sure why many of these places don't send the order with plastic utensils that why we are ordering food for delivery to not use our home utensils or plates. Because the prices online are extremely high even without the delivery fee and only a dollar for the service fee (I have Grubhub + right now) if I'm in Springfield shopping I'll order ahead and go pick up. Not trying to be waiting over an hour for my food. The waffle was light and fluffy and chicken slightly spiced but nothing to write home about. Since it took over an hour to get to me the food was cold. I'll give them a try but again will order ahead before picking up.

The chicken here is consistently delicious and the portions are generous. I especially enjoy the lightly battered double-fried fries and the mochi-like consistency of the waffle. I will advise that for large orders, take the extra minute needed to physically unpack your order and double check it yourself. Ms. Tina (and the manager over the phone) made the experience a lot better for me after a part of my order was missing. I appreciated that a lot and Ms. Tina was warm, comforting and understanding with the entire ordeal. You cannot call the restaurant (the phone number goes to voicemail after message), but they do accept orders online and via various delivery services (as well as walk-in).

Their mac and cheese is the best! I love it. I really like their wings and waffle combo, too. The chicken was seasoned well and the waffle was delish. It was actually a lot of food for me, so I couldn't finish it. Same thing with the chicken sandwich. It was huge, and I couldn't finish it. It was good, though.

The food is classic southern style and taste delicious. I ordered takeout on grubhub and my order was hot and packaged to perfection!

Saw this place on google maps when looking for late night food. The storefront is in a very quiet and hidden plaza in my opinion, you wouldn't be able to just notice it. The cashier in the front was actually very nice and the food took around 15-20 mins to be done. Quite long in my opinion, but I guess good since everything was made fresh. The waffle was really good flavor wise! I would rate it like a 7/10. The tenders were surprisingly big and full of meat! The mac and cheese was also shocking because very little places I've been to make good mac and cheese. That dish did not disappoint! However the half and half was a bit on the sour side. Overall had a decent time, however, compared to other competitors (Uncle C's), the prices and flavor aren't the best. Still good to give it a try tho if you're nearby!

DELICIOUS! Chicken tasted so fresh and juicy. Waffles tasted homemade and fluffy. Lemonade was so good.Honestly, I don't have any complaints about this place. I would totally recommend coming here!

While the Chicken is top notch, the Ownership is terrible, I placed an order, went to pick it walked in and they handed me my bags. When I got home I found that they had not given me the 3 desserts that I paid $15.00 for. I called twice, only to leave messages, because no one answers the phone, and then went online . Do you think anyone returned my called or responded to my email complaint...NO. We were one of their best customers, so for $15, we will be going somewhere else. Sad that they can't respond even after ripping me off.

A hidden gem in the shopping center on Alban road right past the mcdonalds and the gas station. There is a small seating area with about 4 tables. Very clean - I've never seen any trash on the floor or a dirty table. I ordered the wings or tenders with the waffle. Wings are cooked when ordered, so you have to wait about 20 minutes for your food to be cooked. The food is fresh and piping hot. The staff has been pleasant each time I've been. The have honey mustard and a sauce similar to mumbo sauce that is really good. My orders are always to go but will dine in one day. Love this spot. Will return to try other items and maybe dine in.
