Sol Mexican Grill is my new go-to taco place in DC. I happened upon it on a walk from Friendship Heights and it was just bustling with people. I always take note of very crowded places that don't seem like tourist-y. Sol has something special. There are 2 dedicated regular employees that I have seen every time I go that whip up the most delicious tacos and quesadillas in just 15 minutes. I've been here 3x and have never been disappointed. The quesa-birria is the star of the show here- my goodness- you get 3 with fresh limes and consomme dip. Truly worth it to come just for this. They also have fresh juices- my friend is a big fan of the Hibiscus. When I ordered nachos one time, he loaded them up like 7 inches high. You get the bang for your buck...and it's truly so delicious. Highly highly recommend.

We stopped at this place on a walk through the neighborhood. They have a taco Tuesday deal- $2.50 a taco! They also have a happy hour every weekday from 4 to close. The tacos are stuffed! You can take the margaritas to go. We sat outside to eat. Definitely recommend!

Just ordered from Sol for the first time, and I thought it was excellent. I had a chicken bowl -- the roasted chicken was so good, everything was fresh and delicious. The pico de gallo and salsa were perfect -- and they didn't put too much of it on. The flavors were perfectly balanced. Will definitely return! Reminded me of Burrito Brothers -- an old favorite that I haven't been able to replace since it closed. Also-- my son ordered a burrito and it was huge. This place is great -- everyone should go so it stays in business!

Went for lunch taco Tuesday. Got both a corn and flour tortilla. Both were excellent as was the generous carne asada filling with traditional toppings. I will be back !
