the good:- i absolutely love the 3 piece salmon nigiri. i got two of those because they were so good and fresh. room for improvement:- i didn't love the sima roll & the onion salmon despite them both being on the chef recommended menu- another thing i would like to see this place work on are the machines! the cart it showed me on the menu was glitching and showed me orders placed by someone else and it was overall confusing and gave me the wrong total. also, the menu items don't have descriptions, so this can cause problems and kind of defeats the purpose of the machine if you have to call the server over to ask questions. it can also be problematic especially for people with allergies. overall, it's not an all you can eat place, it has similar prices to a typical restaurant (a bit cheaper) but it's good because of the quick service and freah quality of the fish. i would stick with the nigiri because it was the best in my opinion!

It's pretty convenient sushi spot, the place is a little small and can be pretty packed during lunch. The food is pretty good and the service as well. Nothing mind blowing but if you're craving some sushi for lunch, this place is your best option.

Since coming back from Japan, my fiance and I have been craving seared nigiri. Sima hit the spot! The fish pieces are large and the quality is excellent. Favorites are the seared nigiri set, seared salmon, and the eel nigiri. We asked for no sauce and no wasabi (personal preference) and they were very accommodating and remembered to remove those for all our orders. We brought our own pink salt to sprinkle on (highly recommend). Shrimp tempura app was also good - batter was slightly thicker but it was crispy and the shrimp tasted very fresh. We ordered mostly on the iPad (super convenient) instead of the conveyor belt since we wanted customization, and the food came quickly. If you do grab off the conveyor belt - the nigiri has wasabi inside (like in Japan), so be sure to let them know if you don't want wasabi.

I like this place. It is an upscale rotating sushi place. Not on the cheap side but the fish is fresh.A tea was $4. Really for tea. It was a little confusing to try and use the tablet to order what you may want that is not on the conveyor belt.Tuna and yellow tail were good. Soft and made just right. Try the scallops.I must say the fish, all the fish, are as fresh. Service was quick, you just wait for it to come by in the conveyor belt

Came on a random weekday for dinner around 7pm and there was a long line out the door (i found them through tiktok so it seems like word is getting out! no gatekeepinggg) Sushi was surprisingly fresh, large pieces, cute revolving concept but you can use the tablet for anything made to order that you dont see on the belt. My favs were the seared salmon, negitoro gunkan, and yuzu kosho salmon. Love that you can just drop by anytime for a little sushi snackeroo and not spend too much. It is a little on the pricey side!

For a Thursday night at 6pm, Sima was busy. It's not too big to begin with, so my friend and I had to wait for a table. This place isn't for big groups. They had to spit up a party of 7 before us. Everything on the conveyor belt was very easy to access. If you didn't see what you want, the tablet was simple to use to order any item, and to call the staff to the table! Plate prices are clearly marked at the table, too. My friend and I enjoyed the dishes we picked off the conveyor belt. The selection was fine, but wasn't extremely special in any way. With the bill, it took a while for them to sort out, which made me feel bad for all the people waiting to sit. They accidentally added something we didn't order, then had to take it off the final bill. They kindly explained that to us when they gave us the check.

As a former Chicagoan, there are many things I miss about my old home. One of which is our plethora of rotating sushi places, so I was super excited after passing this place a few months ago. I finally ventured in this evening, and I was not disappointed. The staff were very friendly upon our arrival. The restaurant space is fairly small, and it was pretty full for a Monday evening in downtown at 7 pm. At your booth, you can pick different plates that are color coded based on price. The plates range from $3.5 to $9.95 for rolls. You can also order items directly on an iPad at your table. We selected items both from the conveyer belt and the iPad and walked out spending under $50. I found that the quality of the sushi and the price were totally worth it. There may be fancier or nicer places to venture in town for rolls, but sometimes you just want a neighborhood spot where you can eat plenty of food without breaking your piggy bank. We will definitely be back soon!

This is a small sushi restaurant with a rotating conveyor belt. You could also order off the iPad which was nice if there was something you wanted that wasn't available. Service was great. Seaweed salad wasn't my favorite but everything else was amazing. Fish was super fresh. I liked they served the rolls in three pieces so you could try more things. I liked all my my rolls - shrimp tempura, spicy tuna amongst others!!

Lovely place by 17th and L NW. Warm and wood tones and a welcoming charm from the staff makes this conveyor belt sushi a pleasant visit. Notably generously-sized filets relative to my previous experience of conveyor belt sushis in Hawaii and California, especially the sashimis. Good selection, but wished there were more options. Plates in the conveyor are covered and ala carte orders are hand-delivered by the chefs making it in front of you. Pricing is fair for D.C. A more intimate venue compared to Kura's nearby. Recommended.

A decent conveyor belt sushi place. My favorite dish would have to be the cheese garlic scallop. I do prefer this over ayce sushi buffet.
