Silver Diner

We came by around lunch time on a Sunday. I was not prepared for how busy it was! We had a short wait for a table, which wasn't an issue. We never really had a consistent waiter and had trouble getting drinks at the beginning. It just seemed like they were really overwhelmed with people. The food was excellent though! They talk a lot on their menu about having high quality local ingredients and it shows. I had the spinach and mushroom omelet and it came with a bagel and potatoes. It was a lot of food for a good price and again very high quality ingredients.

Olivia, our server, was very welcoming and friendly to us. She was very kind to my boys with autism, and she was an attentive server, refilling drinks without asking, and coming by to check on us after the food was brought out. We chatted a bit and learned she drives from Burke to this South Riding location, and this isn't even her FT job. I told her how the restaurant sits on the very spot where my old employer and office used to be (M.C. Dean)! We always have a great experience here; even though it's not the closest one to our house, it's worth the drive. Plus, a full bar is a nice bonus too! Thank you, Olivia, for your personable service!

So glad a Silver Diner opened up closer to home!Plenty of parking is available. Upon entering, the hostess was very kind and we were seated in a timely manner. The restaurant is clean and organized. Restrooms in the back are also clean. Our server was kind and helpful. We enjoyed our meal, each dish was flavorful and well seasoned. Nothing was overly salty or too greasy. Portions are generous as well. Silver Diner is nostalgic for me, reminds me of my High School days. Their menu has definitely changed but I enjoyed what they offered back then and now. The best part of visits to Silver Diner, has always been the company and good conversations. Can't wait to come again :D

Even though Yelp reviews imply this place has been open for 10 months, by my experience this morning, it felt more like 10 days. It certainly has the potential to be a 4 or even 5 star diner/experience; mine wasn't quite there.The diner is bright and shiny - almost antiseptic - and extremely clean. The menu goes on and on with interestingly crafted variations on diner classics. We unfortunately had plenty of time to scan our menus, because it took over 10 minutes for a server to greet us. He apologized, saying he hadn't been notified that our table had been given to him to pick up, even though he was serving all the tables around us and had walked past us several times. I think he was relatively new and still learning the routine. We ordered coffee and tea - the tea came out as hot water in a cup and a teabag handed separately, with the cup on a saucer. My coffee came out as just a mug and a couple of creams, no saucer. During the entire meal, I was never given or even offered a refill on coffee.We ordered the Bay Benedicts, essentially the crab cake Benedicts, which come with a side of fresh fruit. These did come out quickly. I hadn't read the menu item description carefully enough to note that the egg is actually over easy as opposed to poached. The texture was unexpected, though the yolk was still runny as desired. The crabcake was almost all meat, no filler. The English Muffin was soft and doughy and should have been toasted quite a bit more. I did not think the corn kernels in the mix would work, but they did. There were different amounts of Old Bay on the eggs on each plate.This is one of those places where I feel my opinion would be based on finding the entrees that best appeal to me over several visits, and that sampling more menu items over several visits would give me a better overall feel for the place.

Well I believe all the right things were in place to make this a solid and positive review but sadly it was not. This being a new location gives a sense of expectation. I ordered a simple chicken sandwich and the server noticed that there was an issue with the system and they were simply taking too long. He assured me he would talk to the manager about a discount which seems fair. I have been here over an hour and I still don't have my check. The manager said no. And hey I wasn't expecting that my meal would be comped but something for my time. Even a manager showing up and apologizing would suffice...but nothing. Service was as expected, the food was pretty good, but it took entirely too long to make. And it wasn't busy... needless to say, I'm guessing day time management might be better. Maybe this could have been 3 stars if I wouldn't still be waiting for my check...Enjoy

Came in one day for a late breakfast. Silver Diner serves breakfast all day - so it was not an issue.I requested to be seated at a table and looked over the menu. I note the Corned Beef Hash on the menu - and inquired as to whether it was canned hash or scratch-made. Turns out it is scratch-made! Yaaaaayyy!!!Got the hash with two eggs over easy - comes with breakfast potatoes and a biscuit. Plus coffee and water.Overall, the hash was good, the biscuit was flaky, the potatoes were hot and crispy, and the eggs were cooked properly. Coffee was hot and average.Service was good!#SilverDiner

I've dined here a couple of times now and everything has been pretty consistent since the first visit when they first opened late last year. The menu is very different from the Silver Diner ages ago. There are healthier options on the menu now instead of the greasy diner food you would be accustomed to. The service at this location is outstanding. Very friendly and welcoming staff who are helpful if you cannot decide what to order. Portions and pricing are fair. The food is fresh and tasty. Great place for a family meal.

Traditional diner vibe with both larger booths and tables for families. We saw everything from large groups to tables of one or two while we were there. No wait at 6:45pm on a Thursday evening for a family of 5. Our server was extremely attentive and polite. It was clear he was trying to connect, asking about what he saw us wearing or other noticeable things about us. The wait for food was a little bit but the quality of the food and the taste made up for it. Even my picky parents had nothing but good things to say about the food. The scallops were not overcooked and my dad found a rare specialty item on the menu that he says he has trouble finding anywhere nowadays - liver! Portions we're large enough to have for lunch the next day. Even the desserts are large. Their kids brownie could feed three people.

Food was served fast, chicken tender were perfect.Apetizers were good quality and taste.Waitres Nicole was prompt and kind, good nature person.

I keep on coming back in this location because the employees are very welcoming and the food is delicious. The decor is always amazes me very classy and elegant.
