I found the Silver and Sons BBQ truck parked outside Lost Generation on a Friday evening. Hunger struck me at the right time because about 20 minutes after I got my food a huge line formed! A BBQ meal is best mixed with one of the best breweries in town. I ordered the brisket sandwich. Some places give you slices of brisket between the bread. Silver and Sons packed together chunky pieces of brisket, which I also liked. The meat was good, but just a little dry. Good thing the sandwich comes with your choice of sauce. I also loved the soft challah bun, a great combination with the brisket. Service was very pretty quick. They told me not to go far and when I almost went inside the building to look for a seat, they called my name ready with the sandwich. For a truck, I'm impressed by the variety of meat and sides on the menu. I would love to try the lamb or pastrami next time.

Overall a good truck - not in the least it's new to our neighborhood which hasn't seen too many new trucks for a while. The BBQ meats are very good - we had the chicken (you can specify dark or white meat) and beef, both quite tasty and sufficiently tender. Can't say that about the sides - the potato was way overcooked and the Mac and cheese as well and as someone else had pointed out not much cheese. You can preorder online but the website didn't provide a smooth experience so probably easier to just order at the truck.

Walk, run or drive to the new Silver and Sons BBQ retail location in Bethesda at 5362 Westbard Avenue. If you know good BBQ then you can't miss Silver and Sons. The beef brisket is so moist and flavorful, you likely will not want to go anywhere else in the DMV for this ambrosial treat. You can choose from sandwiches, combo platter, bowls or just a heapin' helpin' of meat they call Mains. Chicken, lamb, pastrami, turkey - it's hard to make a choice, every aroma is so flavorful. I got the sandwich platter which consists of one meat choice (you can add a second for a few bucks), a fresh challah roll, your choice of "Bulldog", spiced vinegar or Baharat Mustard BBQ sauce (though honestly, none is needed) a side like mac/cheese and a dessert. Only $19 - what a deal. Thought they don't yet have delivery, they will be expanding soon to online ordering and some grab and go fare. The staff is super helpful on choices and quick with a take out order. This is not a sit down restaurant, with only a few tables and chairs, but I can't imagine anything other than expanding again once the secret is out. Silver and Sons - wishing you many happy years and happy customers at your (first) retail location!

So, I am funny when it comes to food trucks, haven't had the best experiences with them. But Silver and Son's BBQ has opened me up to food truck a little more. I love going to the market in Bethesda, and this Sunday they were there and plan on being there for the next few months for brunch. With that said their full menu isn't available just brunch, but you won't be disappointed! The customer service is perfect. Friendly, efficient and just over all good energy.I have only tried the lamb hash, normally I try to taste more before writing a review, but I have been thinking about it since I ate it lol. I will be getting some next Sunday for sure. So the hash consists of pulled lamb (cooked and seasoned perfectly) potatoes, cooked peppers and onions and two fried eggs. The fat from the lamb is absorbed by the potatoes and it almost melts in your mouth. They give you just enough for a good sized breakfast. The best hash I have ever had.I will be checking their schedule so I can grab something from their regular menu as well.

I first experienced Silver and Sons BBQ at Windridge Vineyards. I was hooked from my first bite and they have become my favorite food truck in the area! In fact, as members at Windridge, we would double check to make sure they were the food truck on site when we visited the Vineyard and we typically went elsewhere if they were not. We decided to book the Silver and Sons BBQ truck for an employee appreciation event at Lexus of Rockville. They were the first and only company we contacted to cater the event. They helped us create the perfect menu for the party and everyone in attendance said the food was amazing! In fact, most people went back for seconds! It was fun to have the food truck in the parking lot of the dealership. Having the truck outside also freed up space inside the dealership to host a "casino" night with dealer tables! Silver and Sons helped make the event a resounding success. They were so easy to work with and so gracious about curating a menu that would work perfectly for our space, budget, and guests. We even changed the menu a couple of times and they graciously worked with us. Truly, from start to finish they were professional and so accommodating. We would not hesitate to invite them back to cater or bring the food truck for our next event.

We went with a sampler platter, which is a great way to experience much of the menu.We had the chckpea slaw, with a nice crunch, but in need of vinegar. We had the mac and cheese. My wife is more of a fan than I am, though each of us felt it was heavy in pasta, short in cheese. The platter allows four meats. We chose chicken, and it was moist and tender. We chose a beef rib that was smokey. Up next was the pastrami which we loved. Lastly, instead of the lamb we ordered, we got brisket. We loved the brisket as well, but a small ding for getting the order wrong. Both deserts, baklava and babka bread pudding were killer.Loved the meal overall, but we'll be more selective next time.

This is (by far) the best barbecue I've had in DC and I'm pretty sure the best barbecue I've had outside of Texas. It's supposed to be middle-easier and Jewish barbecue, which it is to some extent, but mostly it's just really good barbecue. The fact that the food truck set up a less-than-five-minute walk from my house is nothing short of miraculous. I'll be back as often as I can, which would be twice a week if they keep their current schedule. More honestly, probably at least every other week.We got the brisket, pastrami short ribs, pulled lamb shoulder, mac and cheese, challah rolls, and rice krispy treats. The meat was all great, but the brisket and pulled lamb were the standouts. The brisket holds up to Austin (where I lived for over three years) barbecue brisket and that's really saying something since Austin has arguably the best barbecue brisket in the world. It was moist and fell apart easily without being overly fatty. I've been looking for anything to come close since leaving and instead have mostly just ordered it shipped. This was good enough, I might not have to do that. The pulled lamb brought some of the deeper, earthier flavors of lamb to what's normally ho-hum pulled pork. I'd love to see more barbecue places do it.The pastrami short ribs were very good, but not as good as the lamb or brisket. The parts which were rub-heavy were better. The rest of it was just a hair fattier and chewier than you'd like. Maybe it was just the particular cut that day, but we'll see when I go back. The sauces were also all good, but the mustard sauce was the winner. It was tangy and strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the lamb and brisket without overpowering them. The other sauces were more generic, but still good barbecue sauce. My wife really liked the mac and cheese, but I thought it was a bit light on the cheese and more just noodles than I'd like. The rice krispy treat was really good and good notch above what you'd make at home (and a huge level above store-bought) with whole marshmallows and warm, gooey chunks of chocolate, but still didn't really measure up to how amazing the barbecue was.

Seriously the best Reuben I have ever had! Went to the new Silver and Sons BBQ shop today and was completely blown away by the food. I've had meat from the food trucks a few times in the past, and it's always great, but the specialty sandwiches are works of art. Can't wait to go back!

Ventured into Silver & Sons small brick and mortar location in Westbard Shopping Center. Very limited seating. Predominantly an order to go venue. The counter service was welcoming and more than happy to answer questions and provide suggestions. Ordered the 2x2 platter accompanied by choice of two sides and a challah roll.Meat choices were Pulled Lamb Shoulder and Prime Brisket with Baharat mustard sauce, ( tangy sweet with a slight heat). Both meats were, flavorful, moist, perfect temperature and amazingly tender to a gentle touch of a fork. 2 chosen sides, smoked beets and Israeli salad. Beets were fork tender with a balanced smokey flavor. Israeli salad nice accompaniment to balance fat and acids. Challah roll was dry and stale. Tried the Apple bread pudding. Dry and not overwhelmingly sweet.I enjoyed the quality of the food and plan on returning in the near future when the bbq craving strikes again!
