We were very excited to see a brick and mortar open for Silver and Sons after enjoying their food truck. The food and service did not disappoint. Not sure you can go wrong with any of the food options, but we especially liked the brisket and falafel as well as the Israeli salad. It's a small carry out location with a couple high top seats. Hopefully they'll be some tables outside in warmer months to eat on site. Thanks for the warm customer service. You could tell they were pleased to be welcoming a steady stream of customers.

The Bethesda barbecue scene has a new hub.Silver and Sons opened its first brick-and-mortar a few weeks ago. I stumbled in after a haircut next door, and wow, what a neighborhood addition. Phenomenal quality. Original offerings, inspired by local chef-owner Jarrad Silver's Jewish and Mediterranean influences. So many barbecue menus are predictable. Not here. S&S has the basics but enough options to excite everyone in a large group. I chose the sandwich platter, which comes with a side and dessert. The pulled lamb, quinoa tabbouleh and baklava, respectively, were all terrific. Go here.

I tried this place on a lark for a quick lunch. First off, it's more takeout - there are maybe 4 barstools for seating. The menu was a pleasant surprise for its depth and variety. I got a brisket sandwich, which came on a buttered roll with a side of pickled vegetables. The meat with very good - among the best I've had in the area. However, the bun was so small as to make the sandwich almost inedible. I would have much preferred a larger bun that would have made the meal easier to enjoy.
