Amazing Israeli restaurant right near the convention center! So happy I found this gem. The food was delicious and the vibe was a great "hip, casual". They're very eco-friendly so everything is recyclable and made from recycled materials and all their food is sustainably sourced. It is a vegetarian restaurant, but I had their mushroom shawarma, which is usually made with chicken or turkey meat, and the taste was identical to good shawarma (but the consistency a little different)Anyway, yes the shawarma was delicious. The pita was fluffy and flavorful, the veggies were fresh and the tahini also top notch. The portion was very good as well (even if the pita looks a little thin in the pic I got). I also had their shawarma lentil soup which was really good. A nice warm, and filling, side on a cold January day in DC. I definitely will be coming back!

always had this place saved on my list in dc for places to go to and finally got around to it! went on a rainy day, you would have to street park like typical in dc, but found parking relatively 5 min walk from the place. you order on a kiosk when you enter and you can see them assembling the bowls in front of you. i ordered the shawarma bowl with the yogurt sauce on the side. the bowl was very filling and the shawarma was well cooked with a bit of a grilled/smoky flavor to it. the hummus was delightful and the portion was just enough to make you feel full but not too heavy. this is a great alternative for those who love health bowls and clean eating similar to places like cava and mezeh.overall, i would recommend if you're looking for a fast but healthy option in the area!

Wanting to visit the Old Post office Clock tower , we decided to stop by lunch at this shouk location Washington DC. Having tried Falafel and Shawarma bowls we wanted to try the sandwiches this time.We Picked fried Shouk'n and Shouk Burger. Fried Shouk 'n - Oyster mushroom schnitzel was more appetizing visually but little oily as the mushroom soaks oil but I was expecting it. Didn't taste bad though . The Shouk burger was HEAVY , it was huge heavy patty made form various lentils and was very filling. We even got the Malabi dessert which was a pretty bland , NOT SWEET, pudding . It was like eating creamy pan yogurt with a flan texture. Definitely wont order again .Overall its cool place and good food .

Wow. I mean wow. Gluten free dairy free falafel and middle eastern noms ?! A bowl with quinoa and veggies ?! A spectacular lentil gluten free dairy soup ?! All they're missing is a gluten free pita and this place can quickly become addictive. Ordered DoorDash and paid for direct delivery because I really wanted the falafel hot ! Even the feta is made from almonds. Can't wait to try other items- just fabulous!

Superb food!My friend and I dine here every few months and the quality of the food does not disappoint.I get different bowls with different toppings but usually include cauliflower, hummus, and their spicy sauces. The content of their bowls is always SO SO good, and they are neatly dressed so when it's served to you in a plate on a tray, you can't help but smile. The spice fries are also AMAZING. Super crispy, seasoned well, not oily, and taste amazing with their signature Shouk sauce. The cardamom cookie is worth every penny and worth eating every last crumb. It is scrumptious, soft, fresh, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Just the right away to end the meal!Room temperature water is available from a giant vessel. All ordering is done on a kiosk so no employee interaction except to pick up your food. Their wood fork breaks easily but a minor inconvenience. I recently left an umbrella behind here and they were able to locate it and hold on to it until I picked it up. Super kind of them!

Delicious! Quick! And prime location. I don't think I would go on a date here, but it's awesome for a lunch or for a quick meal with friends. I'll definitely be returning.

Super tasty and fresh oven roasted cauliflower bowl with rice, hummus, brussel sprouts, cabbage, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, beets, arugula and tahina sauce. Each veggie side with its own unique season and preparation. $15.25 but its a big bowl, well worth it. Service is quick, you order on a screen and pick up at their counter. Even though it's February, today was nice enough to sit in one of their tables outside.

I love this place! We were craving something healthy & quick and were so happy when we discovered Shouk! We didn't know it was a vegetarian/vegan place but everything we had was so amazing, we will absolutely be back. We ordered a pita (which comes in very convenient and travel-friendly packaging), a make-your-own bowl and the fries. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned (the secret Shouk spice is so good) and the entrees were just a flavorful. We loved all of the sauces as well. They have a small sitting area but it seemed like they had a lot of to-go and Uber Eat orders. Highly recommend!

This was such a cool find when I was visiting DC this past weekend! I was craving something healthy and wholesome, and definitely needed a break from easy-to-reach Starbucks food, so I was glad I was able to make time for Shouk. The restaurant was a bit difficult to get into, only because the exterior did not help with suggesting a restaurant was inside it! It was a gorgeous building though...Once I made my way in, I realized I had to order at one of the screens. The staff were not that friendly, in that they didn't greet customers as they entered...they were doing their own thing, getting food out, it was what it was. I ended up getting the Shawarma Bowl, which came with oyster mushrooms seared on a hot grill, roasted sweet potato, almond feta, pickled red cabbage, cucumber, hummus, black lentils, rice, greens. I also got a choco-cardamom cookie and a sparkling water to round out my meal. Overall, everything was delicious! The almond feta was exquisite and of course, you can never have too much hummus. The choco-cardamom cookie had an intriguing flavor and you could definitely taste the cardamom coming through. If I lived in DC, Shouk would definitely be one of my staples!

Shouk is a cozy small restaurant with great food. They serve a hearty pita packed with flavor. I highly recommend the fancy falafel pita that has a touch of mint. If you like hot sauces, the harissa is a great add-on.It's more casual than a typical sit down restaurant. You order at a screen and wait for your order to be called.
