Shakin Crab

Food is really good. Been coming here for a while. Flavor and spice is good and not watered down like a lot of spots. Came out hot and the servers are really nice. Cute spot for a date night or to bring children. Just be careful walking and don't wear heels ... floor is really slippery (I guess all that butter and sauce lol). But the place is clean.

I am never ordering from Shakin Crab ever again! I had a feeling like the amount of crawfish that I received was too small of a portion to be 1lb, so I weighed it on my food scale at home. And it's not even "just under" 1lb- It's not even close! To me that is totally unacceptable! Next time I'll be ordering from Long Time No Sea or Chasin Tails.

The food was so good! The crab legs were a nice size (not too small) and the meat was so delicious! I had to keep the crab legs in the bag for a little over an hour and the legs weren't cold and the meat still pulled out of the legs without breaking apart! I ordered a to-go order.

This place is okay at best. Seafood wasn't anything too impressive. The sauce that comes in the seafood boil bag wasn't very flavorful to me and tasted kind of watered down. And while I thought the hush puppies were pretty good, everything else was just meh. Definitely prefer Chasin Tails for sure. The 15-20 min drive is worth it to me.

Came back on Father's Day since my dad was looking for crab legs and figured we'd give this spot another shot.Arrived right around the time they opened and there was only about one or two other parties there. Our server was super friendly/helpful and checked up on us a good amount. We ordered hush puppies, a dozen steamed scallops, 4 pounds of snow crab legs, a pound of king crab legs, corn, potatoes, and sausage in their lemon pepper seasoning. They did not skimp or disappoint, my parents loved all the crab and scallops and couldn't even finish it. Definitely a great time for all of us. Also, they were playing Blade 2 on the TV which was cool.

This place is the best place to go for crab legs in Northern VA. It really is that simple. $27 can get you a full pound of snow crab legs, along with a potato and corn (or 2 potatoes). You can get them in butter sauce, or Cajun sauce. I've had crab legs with butter my whole life, but the Cajun sauce (comes in 3 levels of spicy- mild, medium or hot) is honestly extremely good and addicting. I personally get the medium Cajun and it's great. The crab legs are steaming hot, the quality of the crab meat is good, the sauces (butter or Cajun) are both delicious. The price is very reasonable, the crab legs and food it comes with is excellent, the atmosphere is nautical and laid back, the place is clean, the servers are pretty good. (Even if the servers kind of sucked I'd still give this place a 5 though, the food and atmosphere is that good haha.) We first came here about 3 weeks ago. Since then we've come 4 times lol. It's great to have a local restaurant that serves crab legs. We leave completely stuffed, and our bill's usually around $100 + tip, for 2 people and a baby. (We get 3 lbs of crab legs + potato + corn, plus drinks). You go out to eat for generic steak or Italian food, and the bill's at least $70 these days. Worth it to get crab legs once in awhile, especially for the cost

Average food. Enjoyable atmosphere. I'm just not a fan of the style. Others may like it a lot better than I do.

The steam bags are pretty solid. I got the special #1. When ordering online i was asked if i wanted to replace 1/2 dozen sausage with shrimp. I opted out but i regretted it. Had way more sausage than shrimp in the bag and one cluster of crab legs. The snow crab legs were delicious though and you could tell they were cooked properly because the meat pulled right out the shell. My partner got the king crab leg bag and loved them. It comes with one potato and one corn. Hush puppies are great also.

This is the best crab place in the area, we go here at least once a week. Their sauces are to die for. And you can't go wrong with anything in the menu. Their crabs are amazing, the shrimp, the calamari even our 3 year old loves their chicken and pasta. The waiters are always greatDefinitely give it a try
