I have been thinking about the cacio e pepe every single day since I've been here.First off, I parked in the garage underneath and they validate parking here! What a pleasant surprise. The elevator goes right to it practically you don't even have to go outside. We got the cheesy bread and calamari for starters. Both good. We did not notice the calamari is not fried so heads up on that.We split 3 pastas. The meat ragu one, clam one, and cacio e pepe. All were good but the cacio e pepe was a STAR. The clam was delicious too. The cannoli cake is to die for. Dense and moist, with cannoli icing layers topped with a decadent chocolate layer. The only negative I would say is they have no non alcoholic beers, although 2 mocktail options. The NA world has made a big push and seeing that 4/5 of our table was pregnant, some other options would have been nice.

Sfoglina is one of my favorite Italian restaurants The food is of very high quality and it's such a beautiful place inside! Perfect for a date night! They have a 3 course lunch menu for only $28 per person with a drink included! The pesto pasta was amazing, I also loved the sweet potato soup. You can also go to the bar for happy hour from 3-6 they have drinks and appetizers on the happy hr menu. All around so worth coming here! Service has always been excellent.

Ambiance: (5/5) Enjoyed the decor and seating. Price: (4/5) This is a pricey restaurant, but the quality reflects it. You can still get a meal for a reasonable price if you go for lunch.Food: (4/5) I love the family style option. It's 3 plates of pastas. Just that alone is enough to feed 2 people since the portions are on the smaller end. We tried the cacio e pepe that was an easy thing that we knew everyone would enjoy. Spicy vodka penne was flavorful. My two favorites however were the Nona's Sunday sauce that was packed with great ingredients and the braised short rib ravioli. The calamari was very unique in the best way. I've never had calamari with a Smokey, earthy flavor. I thought the vanilla gelato was good but a little icey, I was expecting something more milk based. The tiramisu was my favorite dessert that I took to go.Service: (5/5) Staff is incredibly attentive and kind. Food comes out decently quickly.

You know the feeling when a meal surprises you--not just with its taste but with how it completely elevates a random Tuesday afternoon? That was my experience at Sfoglina Rosslyn. Nestled in a sleek Raytheon building, this Italian gem feels both sophisticated and approachable, with its handmade pasta and seasonal, hyper-fresh menu. It's the kind of place you stumble into for a quick bite and leave daydreaming about your next visit.Let's talk about that soup. On this particular day, I went for their gazpacho, a bowl that could double as a work of art. The reddish-orange hues immediately set the tone: fresh, earthy, and comforting. It was served chilled, which might throw off a soup purist, but trust me--this was a game-changer. Each spoonful balanced a rich, starchy base with vibrant vegetable flavors, making me wonder how something so simple could taste so extraordinary. Light but deeply satisfying, it was the kind of starter that tells you everything else on the menu is probably worth ordering.I'll be honest--I didn't venture into pasta territory this time, but Sfoglina is known for it, and you can tell just by the care they put into their simpler offerings. The restaurant also gets major points for its robust vegetarian selection. Everything on the menu seems designed to appeal to a range of tastes without sacrificing flavor or creativity. What seals the deal for me is the vibe. Sfoglina isn't trying too hard to impress; it just is impressive. The interiors feel effortlessly chic, and there's something about dining in a quiet, well-designed space that makes your food taste better. Whether you're here for a power lunch, a romantic escape, or just an indulgent break from your workday grind, the experience feels luxurious but not pretentious.Yes, it's pricey. You're not going to walk out with your wallet unscathed, but that's not really the point, is it? This is a place that rewards you for being intentional about your meals. Go for the pasta, the wine, the desserts--just go. You won't regret it.Five stars, easily. Sfoglina Rosslyn is where Italian cooking meets quiet excellence, and I'm already plotting my next visit.

Amazing pasta! The menu is almost exclusively pasta so if that's not your vibe, be warned. We didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into but we went all in and did the family option of sharing 3 pastas and ordered the chicken as well - all fabulous! Definitely enough food for our group of 4 especially with the addition of the table bread which was 10/10. The broccolini was too bitter for our tastes but not a big deal since the star of the show is definitely the pasta dishes.Service was also helpful and attentive which was appreciated.

**Updated Review to reflect the most recent experience **We've been coming to Sfoglina often and have loved it every time. However, the food was very off tonight. The special penne was undercooked and sauce was strangely salty. The special steak that was supposed to be medium was very well done and we could tell that the cut of meat wasn't a good one. Did Sfoglina get a new chef? Now I understand why it is no longer Bib Gourmand rated. It was as if we weren't even at the same Sfoglina restaurant. Aside from the food, the service and hospitality were impeccable - 5 stars! Family oriented ambiance.

Sfoglina Rosslyn did not disappoint! My friends and I ventured to dinner here on a Friday night and were excited to enjoy a tasty meal. The ambiance is very clean and classic. Loved the proximity from the Rosslyn Metro Station! To begin, we started off with drinks. We got the Spritz Tower and it was a refreshing start to the meal. I indulged in an Espresso Martini which was creamy and packed a strong punch. I will say I did enjoy how this drink at the Van Ness location which wasn't stirred and instead had a milky foam at the top. Nonetheless, it was delicious. For my entree, I went with the Fettuccini Alfredo with mushrooms. It was a great blend of cheeses and hearty mushrooms in each bite which I enjoyed. However, the sauce was more buttery than creamy which made the dish a bit oily. I loved the garlicky flavors from the sauce and ended up almost finishing my entire plate of pasta - very rare for me in one sitting! The service was wonderful! Our server ensured we were satisfied with each menu item and made us feel right at home. While I did prefer the Van Ness location a tad more, Sfoglina Rosslyn is a great spot to check out for a delicious dinner! Excited to try their happy hour soon.

The vibes were great. Interior was decorated nicely but it was hard to move around the tables. All the tables were set up pretty tightly next to each other. Our drinks took a while to come out - we ordered glasses of wine and sparkling water. And it was hard to hear the waiters since they were speaking softly and mumbling. We got the pasta for 3 for $85 which did end up filling us but the short rib pasta seemed pretty salty. Cacio Pepe wasn't impressive. Just seemed like some of the pasta wasn't even coated in the sauce.

We didn't have a reservation, so we did a walk in visit on a Wednesday night. It was pretty filled up so we sat on the high tables. The ambiance was great, and the cocktails were pretty good too.As for the food, the gnocchi was alright. I really liked the sauce, but I felt that the pasta texture was a bit too soft for my liking. The Burrata was good, but also it's extremely hard to go wrong on a Burrata dish. The garlic bread was decent. The braised beef agnolotti, however, was TOO salty. I am usually good with salty food, but the beef filling in this pasta was probably THE saltiest thing I've ever had in my life. It was a pity that it was this salty, since the pasta texture was great and the sauce itself was good.

I got food to go. For the price, this doesn't even register as mediocre Italian. So many better options locally. Meatballs and spaghetti. Meatballs were not great at all and the portions. Was tiny. Chicken Saltimbocca was sort of gamey... the quality of ham was poor and super thick. I paid over $100 for those two dishes and a portion of desert that I haven't even tried because I was so disappointed.
