Gorgeous gorgeous place! I got a kale Caesar and it was super yummy on a Sunday, but we learned the kitchen closed at 3pm - which the website didn't state :( . Keep an eye on the price stated on the menu versus what comes up on your bill. My added chicken was charged $5 extra and the waiter said they need to update the menu prices. She honored what was on the menu and changed the bill-great service.

Good food. Great ambiance. Friendly staff. The bar was centrally located between the restaurant and front lobby with lots of indoor and natural light. Since it was late afternoon, we chose bar seating. Our orders were taken quickly. While we waited, water was served. I ordered the Margherita pizza and an Aperol Spritz. The pizza was delicious. The crust was perfect and the overall flavor of the pizza was amazing. The drink was strong, but quite refreshing. The bartender made an alternative suggestion for the drink, if I decided to order another. Since I did not order another, I will remember the suggestion for another time. The bar service was outstanding.

Discover the perfect blend of elegance and flavor at **Seventh State Restaurant** in Bethesda! Nestled within the Marriott, this gem boasts a grown-and-sexy ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating--ideal for any occasion.Start your evening with our mouthwatering **Corn and Crab Dip**, bursting with fresh crab and creamy cheese, then dive into the tender and flavorful meatball--trust me, it's a hefty portion you won't want to miss! & the main event, the Rockfish and **Ribeye** were cooked to perfection--both juicy and packed with flavor. As for dessert, the Cornbread Bread Pudding** with marshmallow ice cream and salted caramel rum glaze It's the perfect sweet ending to a fabulous night! Special shoutout to our server Journie, she was very attentive and knowledgeable.

Le sigh. This place really nearly gets four stars. 3.444...It's the little hotel restaurant that could. It's patchy in the service and food and high in ambience department. Someone less bougie and fluffy than me might love it. Caveat: I'm going off memory. I meant to review it sooner but got busy. Let's begin. Prologue: we all got distracted at our table because we had to feed meters and walk more than a football field length to park in different areas. We collapsed into each other's arms having completed two rings on our watches. Dranks: Pretty. Good. Most weren't pretty and good. Some were interesting and inspiring and others tasted like lemonade. Definitely a boss move to have an ice cube stamped with the hotel name! So doing that when I get rich.Food:People besides me got fish dishes and liked it. No licking of plates or soft moans, I noticed. I got the fried green tomatoes. NOM! Great presentation and tasty. Just not abundant. But I anticipated that and also ordered the Cobb salad. Head scratcher. Looked weird in front of me, like it was the wrong salad. Trying to be Beyond Cobb made it worse. Corn and ribboned carrots and bunched iceberg lettuce was memorable in a bad way. Like my salad said, "Let me be great" and someone said, "NOPE!" I now recognize my strong feelings for Cobb salad as a barometer dish of a restaurant's simple competence, like a burger or pancakes. So it was a belly flop, not a swan dive. Service: very friendly and even warm, but it turned sporadic. We weren't the easiest customers because we kept running around Bethesda to pay for parking. But that combined with service lags had us lingering til we really really had to get back to our lives. We did quickly make it to the scenic rooftop and enjoyed the bathroom like toddlers about to get in trouble. Very pretty "endroit" and I would go more for a lingering drink and people watching "see and be seen" vibe. I would not be going to stack my colon with tender vittles and stiff drinks. So this won't be a meal spot for me but I'm very glad I tried it. Best for someone who can drink a beautiful drink slowly or has little tolerance and eats to live. OR a place for me to vibe at after having eaten.

Entertained two business conversations here on a recent visit and found it passable as a spot if not ideal due to struggles with service and high prices. From the other reviews/pictures, their dinner is far more to write home about, but their coffee and breakfast is not. Took us forever to be served and even longer to get the check. When I'm running from meeting to meeting in the area, that's a big deal. Bonus points for lovely, comfortable seating with plenty of 2-person and larger tables to choose from.

Ambiance was really nice. No one greeted us as we walked in. We stood around at counter and waited to be seated for a bit. Hostess came eventually and she was kind. Seating is a bit tight but cozy. Food took FOREVER to arrive to table. We were there about 3 hours total. Way too long. Waitress was super nice but we didn't see her much and had to flag her down to get service. Food ... presentation was impressive but food was mediocre, overpriced and just nothing spectacular about it. I've had better for much less. The smash potato things were the best. And food came to table cold. For $300 I expected much better quality food and taste. It was a nice date night out.

I really thought about keeping this one to myself, but since I love y'all... Imma put you on.This is one of my favorites spots to grab a bite al fresco, enjoy a drink, and just relax.First thing I enjoy is that there's a ton of indoor and outdoor seating. There are even fire pits for those nights where it gets a bit chilly.Second, there's a fantastic selection of wines and spirits and my favorite server, Alijah, always has great recommendations for me. No matter how long it's been since my last visit, he always seems to remember what I like and makes fantastic recommendations from there... And the guy never misses! Third, as I alluded to, the service. Customer service seems to be practically non-existent these days, but fortunately I'm always greeted warmly and made to feel welcome whenever I visit here. The servers are attentive and respectful, being mindful not to interrupt an ongoing conversation. They clear dishes promptly. Drinks are frequently refilled without having to request it. But more than anything, I appreciate how the staff just allows you to relax and enjoy the experience. I've never felt rushed to hurry up and pay or otherwise vacate my seat (besides, I usually stay until closing time)... And in the down times, the staff will even come by and chat with me and some of the other guests. It's a very welcoming and personable environment and I appreciate that. Fourth, the FOOD! Seriously, I don't think I've had a bad thing on the menu. However my absolute favorite, believe it or not, is their burger. I know... Super simple and everybody knows how to make a burger, right? WRONG!! This burger was so good that I had them drag the chef out of the kitchen so I could tell him to his face how amazing this freaking burger was. Imagine my surprise when they bring out this young man who I believe recently graduated from high school and told me that he was the guy preparing my food. If he can do something incredible with just a simple, humble hamburger... Man, that kid is going to be a star in the culinary industry! I hope this restaurant realizes what they have in him and nurtures that gift. But no meal is complete without dessert and this place serves the best Smith Island Cake I have ever had in my entire life. If you didn't know, Smith Island Cake is the official cake of the state of Maryland and there is absolutely no better place to get it than here. It's nothing short of delectable. Absolutely one of the most perfect desserts ever created. I was indifferent to Smith Island Cake until I had it here. Now I'm absolutely obsessed!(Seventh State, please do me a favor and never stop selling this cake. It would break my heart in ways you can't even imagine.)Great food, great staff, great atmosphere... These are the things that keep me coming back. Oh, and the cake.Never change Seventh State... Never change.

Finally dined here and had a great time! I've had this place bookmarked since first visiting Hip Flask (the rooftop) some months ago. I'm so glad I visited and I can't wait to come back. Service by Griffin was amazing!!! Hands down, one of the best servers I've come across in a long time...maybe ever if I'm being honest. He was easy to chat with and so helpful. I would come back here and personally request him. That's how great he was. This 5 star review is mostly attributed to him. The food was good. I had the cornish hen for my meal, but I especially enjoyed the chimichurri sauce. I even asked for extra on the side. Sooooo good! My date had the flat iron steak cooked medium well and he enjoyed it. I like my steaks cooked medium. On my next visit, I'm getting the bone-in ribeye! I had the "Columbia Crest" red wine and it was a generous pour. I've had this wine before and I loved it. Glad it's on the menu. They also offer wine by the bottle. For dessert, we shared the banana bread pudding - it was good, but nothing I'd be pressed to try again. Overall, just a great vibe in here. On a warm October evening, there were patrons sitting outside! Parking wasn't hard. Street parking as well as a garage directly across from the hotel/restaurant. This isn't a cheap date type of place but totally worth it just for the ambiance. Thank you Seventh State for a great evening.
