Sette Osteria - Washington

Stopped by Sette Osteria for brunch with friends during Howard Homecoming weekend. Forgot to take photos of the food I had such a great time. We sat inside as our group was on the larger end with 8 people. Restaurant decor was modern with lots of windows to bring in natural light during the day. Our water Oz was friendly and attentive. Handled every request we threw his way and then some. My friends tend to be demanding especially when food is involved . We opted for bottomless drinks at $20 pp I think it may be the cheapest in the city! You can choose unlimited mimosas or Bellinis. Apps we selected were arancini, and a couple of Cesar salads. Entrees were spicy rigatoni and crab cake sandwich. The pasta was great but the crab cake sandwich really surprised me. Not only full of crab meat but amazing flavor. My friends ordered an assortment of other pastas I don't recall but everyone enjoyed the food.

We had a reservation for 7pm for a party of 6 on a Friday evening. When we arrived on time for our reservation, we ended up having to wait about 15 minutes because apparently they had seated someone at our table and they needed to find us a new table. We ended up in the back of the restaurant in a pretty narrow spot where waiters kept bumping our seats. We ordered some bread for the table as well as some prosciutto and burrata. I had the Linguine con Pancetta e Gamberi with Linguine, Bacon, Shrimp, Crab Meat, and Vodka Sauce. X had the Bucatini alla Carbonara with the Guanciale, Egg Yolk, Black Pepper, Onions, and Pecorino. X's bucatini was pretty bland, which isn't usually the vibe with carbonara dishes. Mine had good flavor, but the homemade pasta was too mushy and wasn't able to really deal with the amount of sauce that was in the bowl. I think either a more al dente pasta or a thicker pasta might've been better. Service was fairly attentive and we felt well taken care of. I just don't think this was the best Italian that I've ever had in DC.

Had a great time at Sette Osteria! Went for a work outing. Out server was fantastic and the food came out quick and hot! My favorite dishes were the burrata and tiramisu

Made a reservation for 8pm, arrived they told us the wait for the table would be 20 minutes at 30 minutes I asked the hostess for an update and she told me another hour. We left without eating.

We visited Sette Osteria on a Friday to enjoy Italian night with some good food and drinks! This was the only place that was accepting large parties and hence we picked up Sette Osteria. We started off with some complimentary freshly baked bread and ordered a Rigatoni, veggie pizza and a side of sautéed mushrooms. My friend also ordered a seafood platter, that included salmon, and shrimp and calamari. My friends also ordered a Pinot and red wine which they said complimented well with the food. Everything tasted good, the Rigatoni was creamy and had a tint of spiciness which I enjoyed! Overall, a decent place if you're looking for good food and drinks. P.S. We did not know that there are two locations for Sette Osteria, so make sure to confirm which one you're booking as we messed up a bit with our planning! :)

Came here to have dinner with our group of five since there was no wait. the place was spacious and had a cute interior. the staff was nice and attentive. However, the food lacked flavor and taste quite a bit. Unfortunately the food was not hot evenly and the flavor was just OK. The linguine and clams had no taste. That was really disappointing Is my go to order normally in Italian restaurant. The muscles were my favorite. Good sauce and flavor.

The menu is pretty extensive for happy hour so we were excited to check it out. We started with drinks and I got the white sangria which was pretty good. When we were ready to order food they mentioned they aren't making any pizzas or calzones which led us to believe they were maybe out of dough? We didn't get anymore detail for a reason why but no pizzas took out about 70% of the happy hour menu foods which was disappointing. I ended up ordering the gnocchi which wasn't bad. I had a yelp offer for free Nutella bites that they couldn't make either which is why we speculated they were out of dough. We ended up getting the tiramisu which was pretty good. I don't think I got the full experience since they had a very limited menu so I hope to come back and try more soon.

Carbonara was disgusting. It was soupy!!!!!!! The Guanciale was a joke. Not cooked through. Not crispy!!! And there were ONIONS!!!!!! ONIONS IS DISGUSTING AND SO DISRESPECTFUL TO THIS DISH!!!!!!!!!! Not only was one dish of carbonara wrong!!! My friend ordered the same thing & his was disgusting as well!!! He is Italian & said this dish was disrespectful to his ancestors!!!! Also the water refills were SO BAD. My water got refilled once!

If you're looking for a place to take out-of-town guests, this isn't the one. I had a 7 PM reservation for ten people. We arrived and were seated at 6:55 PM, but our drink order wasn't taken until 7:10 PM. We didn't see our waitress again until she took our food order at 7:59 PM. We skipped the appetizers and salad and quickly ordered our entrées instead. I have been visiting this location and the one on Connecticut Avenue for over 10 years, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. While I will still give the Connecticut location a try, returning to the 14th Street location will be difficult after such terrible service.
