Had a dinner with friends here. Because I made the mistake of eating another meal right before, I didn't have much! But what I did have was wonderful. I had the chips and salsa, which was delicious and exactly what I needed. We also shared a large frozen margarita pitcher, which provided one good sized drink for each of us -- a deal! At a previous visit, I had the quesadillas and the tres leches cake, also good for a quick service restaurant. Additionally, I'd like to note just how kind and patient the staff was with us while we figured out our group order, so friendly and wonderful service!

It was a noisy, overpriced Chipotle that served alcohol. All portions were small and of marginal quality. A $5 taco had a few pieces of overcooked (hard) pork and a few dashes of veggies on a tiny shell. The Mamasita bowl was full of rice and beans and just a couple tablespoons of hardened meat with some lettuce, sour cream and guac on top. The dining room was not crowded, but so loud that we couldn't talk across the table. We only stopped in because it was on our way home from a day of touristy activities, but would not return.Another one of those restaurants that provides the same level of service as McDonald's (order food at a counter, pick up food at counter, bus and clean your own table), but they ask for a tip at rates starting at 18%. Minimum wage in DC is $17.50 / hr!

We really enjoyed this Mexican spot, it exceeded all our expectations. We started off with a margarita flight, which was really delicious. They do have happy hour where you can get two margaritas and chips and salsa at a pretty great deal. I really loved my Al pastor tacos, they were so flavorful and I loved the pineapple chunks. It was one of the best meals we had in DC, highly recommend.

Made a second trip to Santa Rosa Taqueria recently and ordered the tacos which are definitely the way to go! They have some unique options, all the ones I tried were super flavorful, and the don't skimp on the toppings

My sister and I visited in the evening of Halloween 2024 and it was fairly busy. However, we were able to find seating out on the patio after ordering our meal at the register. The tables could have benefit from more regular cleaning, but as I mentioned, it was fairly busy and there were lots of groups with young children leaving as we arrived. We ordered a couple of different tacos, and a steak quesadilla. We ordered short rib barbocoa, steak asada, fried fish, diablo shrimp, and crispy fried spicy shrimp taco. Each of the tacos came with some kind of coleslaw and sauce. I appreciate the combinations but overall, I think the tacos had too many toppings. The flavor of the proteins was solid, but not amazing. The toppings didn't add much to the overall taste and made the tacos super messy. However the steak quesadilla really good. We also got two rounds of the happy hour margaritas (which came with chips and salsa). My sister's first margarita was skinny but she didn't like it much since the sweetener tasted very artificial. The regular classic margaritas were good though. Overall, this was a nice casual spot to grab some food quickly. Being in Capitol Hill, the parking is always going to be a slight challenge but we ended up finding parking right out front after just one lap around the block. With so many good options for food in DC and the surrounding areas, I probably won't visit again.

The tacos here reminded me of the tacos I had back when I visited Cabo San Lucas a couple years ago! I love the strong flavors. The building is clean and the staff are quick.Admittedly, the tacos were a bit pricey for tacos, but the flavors were delicious! I got all 3 with flour tortillas. Al pastor is usually my go-to meat choice, but I felt like getting 2 carne asada tacos and 1 al pastor taco this time. Honestly, although they were both good, the al pastor was still better. The way that the pineapple combined with the meat was just wonderful. I loved the green and red salsas as well. I'm not the best at handling spice, but I do like to go through that bit of suffering for tacos! My only complaint about the tacos would be that the tortillas weren't grilled/charred enough for me. The service was quick. They give you those buzzing pagers that tell you when your food is done. There's a big water tank full of cold water at the register, which really came in handy after all the salsa I put on my tacos! The building is decorated colorfully with a lot of tables and seating. Upstairs, there were a lot of TVs with different things to watch. The tables each had their own thing for napkins, which I really appreciate since the tacos can get a bit messy. The bathroom was really clean as well.

The loaded shrimp nachos were delicious! It's definitely a shareable size. The sauce was tasty and it had fried shrimp. This was my first time at this establishment. You order your food inside and wait to be called. We sat outside. The margaritas were also delicious. We ordered a pitcher. I'll definitely come back.

My friend and I stumbled on this place on a walk to the Capitol and decided to stop for drinks and a bite. I had a La Reina margarita which was flavored with little pieces of jalapeño for spice and I really loved it. My friend got a frozen mag which honestly was just okay. I got a large chips and guac and for less than $10 and was honestly as good as a meal. It tasted homemade and was much more than I could eat. My friend got 2 tacos that didn't look like much and he said they tasted just okay. Their outside seating is also really pretty and staff are friendly though heads up that there is no table service so you have to order at the bar and pick up. They said, I see myself going again the for a margarita (not frozen) and guacamole if I'm in the area - those were both really good and I highly recommend them.

This place has an excellent happy hour special (two margaritas and a large tray of chips for $20) that I would highly recommend anyone who is nearby. Outside of happy hour, the prices are bit high for what it is. I had two al pastor tacos and they were pretty solid. It wasn't objectionable but it wasn't spectular either - and it was slightly disappointing given its price point. The margarita was exactly what you would expect from a margarita but probably not worth the full, non-happy hour price. This place is perfect for happy hour and it feels very much catered toward the happy hour audience.
