Love the food here. Came for breakfast with a friend and we both had the burritos and the horchata cold brew. Then came for lunch with my family and best friend. We tried the tamarindo and Jamaica waters, both amazing. We had the chicken quesadilla, the California burrito with carne asada and with barbacoa and the super burrito with chicken mole. The winner was the California burrito, but we loved everything.Only thing is seating is limited and the restaurant is always packed, line out the door.

Burritos are delicious, loaded with flavor, stacked with ingredients. Only downside is they're expensive - $18 for a burrito is steep!California burrito - this one has French fries and guac included which makes it extra satiating. It's a full meal in every bite. The carne asada is delicious, we now know you should get this in every burrito. Super burrito - we got ours with chicken. It was alright, a little soft and wet from the melted cheese and tomatoes. Could use a textural element. We'll prob skip this one next time. Not quite like burritos from Mission SF but they'll do! Look forward to trying the breakfast burrito options.

This place is what I have been looking for. As a recent transplant from CA I have been missing Mexican food. I have tried a few places, but nothing that felt the most like home until now.The CA burrito is bomb! Chips were fresh and salsas were super tasty. I tried both slushie drinks and both were delicious. The place is super small so be patient, and the staff are beyond helpful. Don't sleep on this restaurant!

The best breakfast burrito you can get in the area!!! These "Mission style" burritos do remind me of the Mission district of San Francisco. The spot is small and cozy. Came on a Wednesday morning, and it was not busy at all. The staff is super friendly and very cool! I loved my iced Horchata Latte and Guava Pomelo Slushie!! I knew the Horchata would be delicious since I've had it at Cielo Rojo (sister restaurant, more sit down). The breakfast burritos are stuffed with potatoes, poblanos, onions, scrambled eggs, and refried pinto beans. I added chorizo! I would consider adding avocado next time for sure. I love that they include gluten-free option which is just a burrito bowl LOL I got to try 4 salsas: Avocado Salsa Verde (mild), Charred Chipotle (medium), Guajillo Tomatillo (spicy), and Habanero (extra spicy). My favorites were definitely the avocado verde and habanero, but DAMN that habanero kicks your ass! I would skip charred chipotle since it was a bit too smoky for me.

Delicious, authentic, everything-from-scratch fresh, and high-quality Mexican food! We tried the following: - Super burrito with shrimp - delicious and incredibly filling (I couldn't finish the entire thing in one sitting!). Shrimp was chewy with a nice little heat but not too spicy at all. - California burrito - delicious as well. My girlfriend loves it. Steak was tender and not dry. Shoestring fries inside were soft, chewy, and potatoey-cozy on the mouthfeel. I can't really explain that texture well, but they really stood out to me and didn't taste processed or fried too much. Normally, I don't care about fries, so that says something about the fresh homemade quality of these fries. - Cold brew horchata - I'm not a big fan of cold brew, but I enjoyed this one, as it had the earthy/roasted depth of espresso. It was cold and refreshing and not sweet at all. - Horchata latte (hot) - amazing! I loved the latte. Steaming warm, thick, creamy, rich, and slightly sweet but not overly so. First time I actually enjoyed horchata, I'll admit. Horchata has always tasted too sweet for me, but this one wasn't at all--it probably helped that it was balanced out with the deep espresso tone. FYI, the accompanying salsa verde for the burritos was really good. Super fresh with a lovely homemade "gritty" texture and a slightly hot and zesty kick. Service is quick and nice.

This used to be Cielo Rojo, which has moved to a garage down the road. The new outlet under the same ownership is more casual and focuses on burritos. The quality has not declined.Ordering a vegan burrito (their vegan options are great) yielded freshly roasted potatoes, some kind of tofu-based filling, and grilled vegetables wrapped inside of what they say is an imported tortilla. I deferred on drink options, but they have plenty of good ones. The oddly angled space offers a few indoor tables and several outdoor seats which you can brave depending on the season. The place emphasizes that it is harkening to a part of San Francisco, but I think you'd have a hard time finding a more delicious burrito anywhere.

I've been so excited to try San Pancho and finally got my chance. It's in the former Cielo Rojo location, so it was very familiar feeling. You order at the counter and everything is brought to your table. Staff is really friendly and it has a fun vibe.We each ordered burritos and mistakenly ordered a quesadilla. I had the California burrito which I absolutely loved. It was flavorful and delicious. My boyfriend and his daughter loved their burritos too. However, his burrito arrived ten minutes after ours did. Customers who ordered after him received their burritos first. Another patron also had food not arrive in a timely manner. This is concerning as I counted 10 staff in this tiny restaurant. They need to fix their timing. We all enjoyed the quesadilla and since we were all a little hungry after our burritos, it was a good mistake. The burritos do seem a bit small, as I can never finish one, but didn't have that problem here. If you are hungry, just plan on ordering an appetizer too. I loved the spicy green salsa. I also enjoyed my mezcal margarita.I'm looking forward to returning. I definitely want to try their breakfast burritos.

I'm not big on burritos, but wanted to check out the hype at the recently opened San Pancho which honors "Mission Style" or "San Francisco Style" burritos started in the Mission district of San Francisco. What makes this type of burrito unique is its larger size and the addition of ingredients not normally found in burritos. I arrived during breakfast hours and decided on the Barbacoa Breakfast Burrito, minus the egg. Overall it was good. I think for me it just needed a little more seasoning as the only thing that popped with flavor were the fries. The flour tortillas are Sonoran style and imported from Mexico. They definitely have a different texture and taste that I like more than the typical flour tortillas. It included shredded beef, refried pinto beans, melty cheese, french fries... And was definitely filling as I ate it in two settings. What I really loved are the beverages. I delighted in the Horchata Latte and the Tamarindo-Chai drink which was delicious and refreshing. I'd love a gallon of that with some bourbon. As the sister restaurant of Cielo Rojo, located in Takoma Park, San Pancho is a small yet cute spot with some seating. The service was quick and on point. Oh, and parking is limited on that part of the street. Check it out for yourself.

I had been excited to try San Pancho for a couple of years as I have been waiting for a quality mission-style burrito place to open in or near Washington, DC. I recently ordered a chicken burrito from San Pancho for delivery and it came on time. At $20 on the app, the burrito was way too expensive for the portion size. As someone who grew up eating Mission-style burritos, this was not an authentic "Mission-style" burrito, as it did not come with chips. Further, a "Super Burrito" should also be bigger than a regular burrito, not just adding guacamole and sour cream-this is was not the case. The chicken burrito itself had way too much rice and not enough beans and meat. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly, but there needed to be more of it. Additionally, the burrito needed to come with more salsas to fully capture the Mission-style burrito experience.I would be curious to try San Pancho in person to see if the experience is better but would not order delivery from there again.

Finding good Cali-style food on the east coast has been A CHORE...until now. We stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad I did. There was a line almost to the door on a Friday late afternoon but service was quick and we only had to wait a few minutes during which time we enjoyed the decor which was authentic and playful with Loteria card tiles on the bar.We were warmly greeted and after ordering, our drinks were promptly served. The food was not far behind despite them being pretty busy. We got the frozen drinks, one with mezcal and one with tequila. I'd come back here for the drinks alone!! Surprised to see people commenting that the burritos are small. They must be used to the massive Chipotle burritos. I was comfortably full about 5 bites before the end of my burrito so I thought the size was perfect. There's only one dessert on the menu, a chocolate cake with vegan flan, so I skipped it because I'm not vegan and I like my flan nice and eggy. I'd love a traditional churro option or anything not vegan.
