Awesome oysters and professional shucking at great prices! I stopped by for some seafood over the holidays and got oysters at several of the stalls, this was the best! The covid safety precautions at the market are pretty good. They have one way to enter, one way to exit, roped lines to reduce crowding by the markets. There are black rectangles on the ground 6 feet apart for the lines. I waited a few minutes for the fresh raw oyster guy who was taking orders and shucking. He picked some good ones for me and was cutting fresh slices of lemon for each order. Out of all the stalls I went to, he was the only one that included a fork, very helpful! He put it and some napkins in the bag with the order. Due to distance from people, I had not see that no forks from the other place I got oysters or streamed shrimp. Would definitely go to this stall again! He was good picking thru the pile to get me the best oysters and rinsing them off in a fresh pail of water he had just fetched. The oysters were perfect, plump and tender, no grit, chilled, with fresh lemon. They had a self service container to get pepper, vinegar, and hot sauce. Best of the fish market for oysters!Recommended!

Good prices and selection. They are pretty cheap compared to other locations. I would definitely look around. Just a note, the person cooking is usually alone by himself so waiting for them to cook your food will take at least 30 minutes.Bring cash to tip the boys working at the Wharf. They will help you but it is courteous to tip them. Paul helped us and was awesome! Thanks Paul. 4 stars shy of 5 for the long wait to get the crabs cooked.

Excellent customer service and great seafood. The employees are great and make sure you get exactly what you need. They steam the seafood for you at no cost. The prices are reasonable considering the quality and freshness. I will definitly be back.

Beware of shrinking crabs!!! Been going to this spot for years because they always have the better deals compare to the others in the area and their service has always been excellent. Today's trip was disappointing and may never go back to them again. I ordered 3 dozen medium female crabs and had those cooked. When they called my number i just picked up my order and drove away. 40 miles later I opened the box and found the crabs are a LOT smaller than the ones they sold me.It's hard to prove it but I believe they switched the crabs to the smaller ones when they took it to the back before they cooked them.

The older shorter African American man at this place has horrible customer service. It must have annoyed him that we kept asking for the price of a dozen blue crabs in various sizes. When you tell us $26 one time and $32 another time within 1 minute of each other, of course we're going to keep double checking the price. He was throwing out different prices for various combinations of sizes and kept insisting we "can't add." He tries to make you think you're getting a better deal, but you really aren't.I understand it's the market and you need to be aggressive to get business, but you're not going to get anywhere by being RUDE and CHILDISH. When we decided to take our business to Jessie Taylor around the corner, he leaned over the railing and repeatedly called us "STUPID." He wasn't just saying it out loud.. He was yelling it. Seriously? I've never been treated like this by any "business" before. Take your money elsewhere!PS.. Talking crap about us loudly with another patron is very classy sir.

My experience here was only comparable to flying Spirit Airlines. Allow me to explain - they had "Jumbos" in stock! Great....not. In actuality, they were medium to large, at best. They were a whopping $80/dozen!!!! I had 4 people eating crabs and figured 5+/- a person with the intention to avoid any wasted leftovers. I asked if he would give me 20 crab and price them individually. He agreed but clearly his math skills are questionable at best. He said $140. I agreed thinking there was some sort of up charge for not ordering in segments of a dozen. He starts to fill the bag with crabs, even put an obviously dead one on there. I get annoyed but don't say anything. Luckily, i'm also counting the crab as they're deposited into the bag. He stops at 18. I decide to intervene at this point because I'm now $19 in the hole. I mention that I counted 18, he mumbled something inaudible under his breath and puts two more crab in the bag. When he turns around to grab the claim ticket given to me for cooking, he says something to his coworker - they both turn to me and start laughing. Immediately, I feel uncomfortable and start questioning whether I miscounted or was annoying to them. THEN, as I was waiting, another patron came to collect her cooked crab and quickly discovered her crabs were accidentally given to someone else. She freaked out, understandably, considering it takes 20+ minutes to steam a batch of crab. The situation escalated quickly with choice words thrown back and forth from each party. Then I hear the cook yell from the back "shut the f*#k up." Obviously, this infuriated her even more. I literally thought they were going to start physically fighting. I felt like I was on an episode of Jerry Springer. Unreal! I know there is some affiliation between this place and Jessie Taylor's or Captain Whites. Maybe both, I'm not sure. Anyway, my point is - if you go here, tread carefully and COUNT YOUR CRAB before they're cooked. When I got home, I emptied the bag on the table and counted 20 crab. Literally - your job is to count crab and calculate the total of purchased goods. You failed miserably at both (or you're trying to rip me off). BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! You won't find me back there, that's for sure.

Got home and the food was cold and nasty. Called to complain and they were uninterested in my concerns. There are toooooo many vendors and options there to deal with sub par food and bad customer service.
