Salt salt salt! Wow honestly if I could give you more stars I would. Every aspect was amazing. Who- Oscar served us and there were two other gentlemen there as well. Of course i forgot their names. So sorry What- I had the whiskey sour which was probably one of the best I've had. I swear I tasted some pepper in there. The drink had all the right elements it was so tasty. My husband had the old fashioned which was nice. He thoroughly enjoyed it. But the food I swear my eyes rolled back for my filet. I was wondering why they didn't actually give me a proper steak knife well duh it was so tender you did not need it. If melt in your mouth had a photo that would be it. I got it cooked to the perfect medium rare . Now those sliders .... I don't even eat blue cheese I normally can't stand it. It was the perfect compliment and again since it was filet man was it tender! Oh oh back to my meal you know how you'd usually cut off the tips of the asparagus because they're hard .... They were NOT. SO TENDER AS WELL. I thought about sneaking into the kitchen and kissing the chef . When- we did an early Saturday meal with no reservation we were able to sit at the bar. Why- It was date night and I thought let's try something ! We will definitely be back. Where- SALT

Speakeasy Salt in Rosslyn is the kind of place you go when you want an unforgettable experience--and they deliver every time! From the moody, chic atmosphere to the impeccable service, this spot has it all. Let's start with the Espresso Martini. Wow. Just wow. This wasn't your average martini; it had a subtle citrusy twist (orange, perhaps?) that took it to a whole new level. It was smooth, rich, and dangerously delicious. I've been thinking about it ever since. Now, the Seabass... where do I even begin? Perfectly cooked, tender, and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was a dream, and the flavors were so beautifully balanced that I didn't want it to end. It's one of those dishes that makes you slow down just to savor it. The place is a bit pricey, and I'd definitely go more often if it were a little easier on the wallet. But judging by how packed they always are (you *have* to RSVP to snag a seat), they clearly know their worth. This isn't just a meal; it's an experience, and it's worth every penny for a special night out. If you're lucky enough to get a reservation, don't miss the chance to treat yourself. Just go--you'll thank me later.

This was a surprisingly nice find. They attempt to make a sterile new office building space seem somewhat interesting. It's a little like the faux urbanity you get in a suburban restaurant, but at least they're trying. Nicely accommodating of gluten free diners. Began with the filet sliders. We didn't notice "filet" and were surprised by how substantial they were. They were essentially little steaks that were served in a light blue cheese, creme fraiche (??) topping. Serving them in lettuce leaves to be GF worked well, with the added crunch from the leaves. They were good! The tuna togarishi was several slices of medium rare tuna, served over julienned carrots, edamame and pickled ginger. It was in a light dressing. The crabcake was small but good, without any filler. It came with asparagus (way out of season for December!), fingerlings in a nice, light mustard sauce and... something else. It was thinly sliced, slightly pink, crunchy in a slightly horseradishy sauce. It was quite good, as were the potatoes and crab cakes. They only had 5 wines by the glass, but fortunately the Nebbiola was tasty. All in all, good, solid food, with some creativity to elevate it beyond the lameness it could have easily had.

Salt is a vibeee! If you haven't been here yet, yes you need to make that trek to Arlington and dine here. It's a very intimate setting, great for a date nights or food and drinks with a small group of friends. Make a reservation, it does get packed. The seating at the bar is first come first serve. It is a speakeasy so the door is hidden, don't get it confused with the upstairs restaurant. Their cocktails are perfectly balanced and there's something on the menu for every taste bud. The food was also great. I've come here two times now and I've had a great experience both times. If I lived closer, I'd probably be here all the time. One of my favorite spots in the DMV area.

5/5 for EVERYTHING, especially the gnocchi :) Came here with a friend on a Saturday night. Reservations are definitely required as they were booked all the way until 9:30pm!The ambiance is cute and cozy. Upon entering the space, you'll find the restaurant hidden behind double doors. Once you walk in - WOW, dim lighting, beautiful decor, and very cozy. Perfect for a date night. In terms of food, my friend and I went for drinks (got the You Don't Fool me non-alcoholic coconut drink and WOW) and appetizers. Of everything we got, the gnocchi hit the spot. We also got the truffle fries and shrimp. Delicious!

The food here is wonderful although I wish they could bring back some old menu items I've seen from other reviewers. The hummus and pita is always a winner. We usually get the Zataar seasoned cauliflower one, which is so good. I got the beef short rib, which I enjoyed although I wouldn't give it a five. My other friends got the gnocci, which they both loved. The service here is absolutely fantastic. The ambiance is also great, although be aware this place definitely has mood lighting. Overall, I suggest this place!

SALT definitely gives speakeasy vibes--hidden and intimate. The "SALT" sign is so so small, so we ended up walking around in circles before finally finding it. Once inside, you enter through revolving doors, and behind a wooden wall, there are stairs leading down to the restaurant, adding to the secretive feel. The atmosphere is great for drinks, but the food didn't wow us. We started with crispy calamari and tuna tartare nachos, but they were underwhelming. I had the braised short rib, of course (one thing about me is, if short rib is on the menu, I'm definitely ordering it). The short rib was braised well, tender and paired greatly with the mashed potatoes. My fiancé's wagyu bolognese tasted like basic spaghetti. The others had the wagyu burgers with truffle fries, which were huge, but the fries lacked truffle flavor. For drinks, I THINK I tried the "Mo-Fi-Ya," ( I actually don't remember what I ordered lol) which was a fun experience--lit on fire at the table and served with a strong, spicy kick. Overall, SALT is a cool spot for cocktails, but the food didn't impress. Parking isn't too bad with two nearby garages.

Came here yesterday with a new friend and we enjoyed it!The place has beautiful modern decor, and with it being dimly lit it's giving grown and sexy for sure. Perfect place for a date night. My friend and I got mocktails to start off and they were delicious, and then we shared a variety of dishes: calamari, linguine and clams, filet sliders, and truffle fries. All 10/10 but the filet sliders?? BANGING!Parking garages all near by, but I was able to find street parking relatively easy.

-Food- Crispy Calamari: 5/5 the calamari was great!Wagyu Burger: 4.5/5 the burger was a tad bit on the dry side. Togarashi Crusted Tuna: The tuna was delicious. This is a well made dish-Drinks-Gimlet: 5/5 very refreshing!Barrel Aged Maple Old Fashioned: 5/5 -Service-The service was excellent. We were immediately greeted at the door and the staff were friendly.-Ambiance-The ambiance depends on the time you get there. Earlier in the evening it's definitely more quiet. The noice level gets louder as the night goes on. The lighting is very dim so keep that in mind.

Tucked away from the bustling streets, Hidden Gem truly lives up to its name. The journey to find this dark and romantic spot was an adventure in itself. With no sign to guide us, we first found ourselves on an open road before discovering the entrance downstairs. Once inside, the interior and decor set the perfect mood for an intimate evening. We started with the fried calamari, which was delicious but a bit heavy on the sauce, making it slightly sweeter than expected. The tuna chips, however, were a standout--nicely prepared and incredibly tasty. The service was attentive, and the ambiance added to the overall charm of the place. If you're looking for a unique dining experience with great service and a cozy atmosphere, Hidden Gem is worth the search.
