One of the best ramen spots in dc! The chicken ramen is to die for. Perfectly marinated. Get there early because it's a popular spot and limited seating. Definitely a must try!

A cute underground ramen spot with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant has sit-down tables and communal counter seating. My friend and I were seated at the counter when we dined here.I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, which was rich and flavorful. Next time, I'd opt for extra noodles and chashu for a more filling and satisfying bowl. We also tried the bulgogi buns. The marinade was tasty, the beef was ground and shaped into a patty. I would have preferred thinly sliced beef. The staff was quick and efficient. While Sakuramen isn't my favorite ramen spot in the city, it's a solid choice if you're in the neighborhood and craving a flavorful bowl.

Saturday night, bae and I decided to brave the cold for a ramen date. As a single mom, nights out without my little one are rare, so when I go out, I expect to make the most of my time. After a quick search, bae picked Sakuramen Ramen Bar as "the best ramen spot in the DMV," and off we went.Parking? Street and garage options are available, but I snagged a street spot. We arrived, wrote our names on the sign-in sheet, and waited. About 15 minutes later, a staff member came out to start seating people. Here's where things went left. The staffer asked if we were with the party of five seated near us (we weren't) and then proceeded to seat two white gentlemen who had arrived after us. To their credit, those men immediately corrected him, pointing out that we were there first. (Shoutout to them for standing on principle--respect!) Even after this, the staffer hesitated, asking, "Do you want to be seated now?"Excuse me? Why would you assume we wouldn't want to be seated? Isn't that why we're here?Eventually, we got seated, but my mood was already off. The space is divided between communal seating and a more intimate area. We were placed at a communal table, which was fine, but what followed wasn't.Another staff member wandered by to give checks to nearby tables and glanced at us like we didn't belong. Finally, the first guy came back and asked if we wanted to order, but by then, I'd had enough. Here's the thing: I don't take situations like this lightly. There was a sign-in sheet clearly stating we were next. The two gentlemen seated vouched for our place in line, yet we were still treated like an afterthought. Now, let's address the elephant in the room. I don't like pulling the "race card," but it felt impossible to ignore the implicit bias in this interaction. From assuming we were part of another Black party to blatantly prioritizing white guests over us, the experience left a sour taste--one no bowl of ramen could fix.As a customer, my time and money are valuable, and I refuse to patronize establishments that fail to recognize that. Nights out are rare for me, and this one was wasted on an experience that left me feeling overlooked and undervalued.Sakuramen may have great ramen (I wouldn't know), but if you can't value all your customers equally, that's a dealbreaker for me. I'm taking my hard-earned coins elsewhere.Final note: If you want your guests to feel welcome, take accountability when mistakes happen, listen to your customers, and leave bias at the door. It's not just about food; it's about how you make people feel. And I didn't feel valued at all.

In need of some ramen during the cold weather in DC and we tried out this spot. We got the bulgogi baos and the flavor was perfect. It was so yummy and juicy, so definitely something to try. I got the gojiramen which is like the shoyu ramen I usually get. The pork belly had a great flavor and the noodles were so yummy. I just wish they didn't put so much bean sprouts and it would've been perfect, well, if it also had an egg, but still happy with my order. Definitely a place to check out if you're hungry, needing warmth from the cold and/or are visiting or live in the area. Lots of other restaurants in the area too that looked really good.

I went here for dinner with some friends and we enjoyed our evening! I don't eat a lot of ramen, but I have to assume that this is premium ramen because the broth and accompaniments were really good! The pork was cooked perfectly, but I wish there was more! Less corn and more pork. But again, the broth was super flavorful and there was a good amount of spice. My friend got the ramen with kimchi and she said it was absolutely delicious and that the egg was cooked perfectly! My other friend enjoyed the bao.All in all, this place is good. The interior is super small so we did sit outside because we didn't want to wait for a table to open up. But our waiter was attentive and everything came out quickly. I would come back if I was craving ramen! But I don't think it's my new favorite spot, but good all around if this is what you are really in to!

The plating looks nice but I've had better ramen. This spot fell short and while I can appreciate the decor, the space felt cramped.

For the Adams Morgan area Sakuramen is definitely one of the best ramen spots, however in general it wasn't the best ramen I've had. I ordered the goji ramen which is a tonkotsu ramen and it was pretty standard. I do see myself going back to try some of the other ramen options they have. With ramen being the main menu item, theres a variety of broths and combinations that sound delicious and will probably surpass the goji ramen in flavor. Overall it's a good option if you're craving ramen in Adams Morgan! The restaurant itself is pretty casual so you'll have no issues just walking in.

This place is a gem for ramen in DC! I've tried the Spicy Miso Ramen, Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen, and the Gyoza (appetizer). Each dish was amazing. The noodles have the perfect bouncy texture that I love from ramen. The broth in the Spicy Miso and Spicy Tonkatsu ramens were both delicious, flavorful, and perfectly hit the spot!To be honest, I was worried that the gyoza may not be worth the high price, but I tried it anyways, and it was excellent! Each piece of gyoza is huge and packed with a lot of filling to really make it worth the high price tag.The decor in the waiting area is nice. If you come during a busy time in the winter, you may have to wait for a while to be seated because there aren't many seats indoors. The wait was worth it to me though because the food was so good!

I've never taken the time to really explore Adams Morgan. The traffic deters me but I see why there's so much traffic in the area. Great eats!My best friend & I went on a Friday evening. We were quickly seated. We didn't order any appetizers. I ordered the Chosun ramen. She got the Shoki bowl. There was no talking going on, just eating. It was so delicious. I can't stop thinking about it. The only thing we both agreed on is that our dishes could've been spicier. That's on us. You can choose your own spice levels. I will definitely be returning, SOON. The place was lively. This was a Friday like I said so the place was filled but not overwhelming. Music was playing, people were talking. It was just an all around good vibe to take in.

Best ramen I've ever had. My friend loved the ginger tea too. You may have to wait a little to get seated, however it's worth it. The servers are super friendly too. Eclectic vibe.
