S & S Liquors

I've known about this store for a while but hadn't had the opportunity to stop by until today. Needing a holiday gift for a friend who loves Irish whisky, I dropped in as it was on my way from an appointment. There's about 6 to 8 parking spots along the building, fairly easy to access if turning off of Blair or 4th. The store front & building paint are in good repair.The lady I met & her staff (super helpful & friendly) were busy stocking, organizing, & also putting up this excellent display in the liquor area for the holidays. They have a massive wine & beer selection as well (not pictured). She said she has been in charge for about one year now & her focus has been on making the store clean, well-organized, and with a great variety of selection. I frequent liquor stores for wines, whiskies, & IPAs so I've seen the gamut of what's on offer in the DMV area & I can say S&S is the best organized & stocked that I've seen. On this visit, I was able to pick up two Irish whiskies I've not seen anywhere else, one being for my friend who I think will be pleased.I'll be back over to S&S!

This store is next door to Takoma Wellness on Blair Road NW. One of the most well-stocked wine and liquor store in the area and the prices are reasonable. They carry hard to find items like Blackberry Crown Royal and I love them for that !

Just checked out their reopened location and it's far better then the old iteration. Bigger, newer, and a better selection all around. They have a great wine selection with many different things to try. The prices are about the same as anywhere else so I know I won't get ripped off here. The beer selection is solid, but they don't really carry much speciality stuff. They mostly have the known brands. The liquor seems to be all the stuff you would want. I wish they had more info on the wines, suggestions, or something to help you pick out new stuff. Always nice to get a recommendation when there are hundreds of options. Overall it's a great place to stock up.

Great addition to the Takoma DC area. It's right by Takoma Station and very convenient in the neighborhood as there is no other liquor store that is within a quick walking distance. They have a wide variety of selections of wine and liquor for decent prices. So thankful that there is finally a full wine, beer and liquor store in the area .

Austere location, ok selection.Most of the hard stuff is kept behind the register. If you don't immediately know what you want, it may feel weird to stand in front of the register while you're making a decision. The staff are really nice & helpful. I mistakenly selected a bottle of wine from their half-off rack--not my best move. I'm assuming they are all old. Once I got home, I realized the bottle I selected had heavily oxidized. -_-

I recently moved to the neighborhood and was very pleasantly surprised to find S&S. It's a small space but has a very good beer selection, including plenty of local choices. They have a great variety of wine and liquor too.

They have reopened with a much larger selection of wine beer and liquornin the remodeled post fire space. 3 stars.flr now as k haven't fully investigated the space. So glad it has returned.

If you want best liquor store in this neighborhood s&s the only place To go clean fully stocked at any time great selection in small place

So, I had gone by after work one night just to pick a few things up and the costumer service here was absolutely TERIBBLE!!! The cashier clerk was horrible and not to mention their prices are crazy and down right criminal for a bottle of liquor! This place must be under new management, because I used to come here a few years ago and was always welcomed with open arms and was treated with the utmost respect as a costumer. Instead I was followed around the store by the clerk (because i assume he thought I was stealing) and was told "if I don't like the price then leave" I've never been so disrespected as a shopper before and I've worked as a clerk myself for YEARS!!! sad to say that this place clearly does not care about their clientele.
