Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday on 02/21/25 around 7pm. Located in navy yard it was easy enough getting to and because of the season finding street parking was easy as well. The restaurant was empty so we opted to sit at the bar. The atmosphere overall was very laid back with low lights, music and plenty of TVs to line the bar. The menu has more than enough for the average eater with a mix of bar food and sushi. I wasn't in the mood for sushi since I knew I'd be drinking so I stuck with the sliders and an order of calamari. I've heard good things about the sushi though. Calamari - 10/10 - texture was amazing and the lemon aioli served with it was a great pairing. Sliders - 10/10 - topped with a bacon jam these sliders were perfectly seasoned, juicy and tender. For bar food this place is officially a 10/10 for me down to the price. Drinks (mid level) were a bit pricey (a lemon drop is $22) so I got some shooters instead. Our bartender (beautiful girl with a S necklace) was very attentive and quick to help when needed. I'll definitely be back

Cute concept but not in a hurry to return!!Visited for an alumni mixer last week. Parking in this area is tricky but I found a nearby lot and paid $10 for two hours. It was a very hot day out and inside wasn't any cooler. It just didn't seem like they had the air on. I didn't even see a fan in sight. The drinks were not that great - very tart. I tried the specials from the happy hour menu, and nothing really stood out. Again, I like the theme but not enough to come back.

This place was fun. Met some nice people. The bartenders were pretty good. We didn't eat we only had a few drinks. It's pretty big and had a diverse crowd. I plan on going back. Taking off a star cause my bathroom wasn't very clean.

The food was pretty tasty! Atmosphere gave a south beach vacation feel! We sat at the bar. Service was speedy and the staff were kind. We ordered two buffalo wings, calamari and bao buns ! Definitely would return.

Came here during the week for an alumni event during HH.I didn't order a cocktail based on friends opinions of the ones they got. I got the sauvignon Blanc which was your standard table wine.We got a few appetizers, coconut shrimp, tropical storm sushi and lobster wontons. The food was decent but the coconut shrimp was what stood out the most. The space is cute and was perfect for large group. The decor reminded me of Miami which made for a nice vibe. This was my first time here and I would be curious to come back for dinner.Since it's in Navy Yard it can be tricky with parking but parked at the Yards open parking lot.

Royal Sands has you feeling like you're dining with Barbie in her Malibu beach house. And I mean that in the best of ways! My friend Lane and I swung in before a Nationals game last week. We were seated immediately despite it being a game day. The main bar area is designed to feel like you're poolside and the music helps to reinforce that type of atmosphere. The bartender was fine. He was extremely friendly but not too proactive or attentive. The frozen pina colada machine wasn't cold enough for us to try which was a major bummer. My backup drink order still did the trick! We shared the nachos, which were yummy but basic. We felt the same way about our entrees: I had the Floridian roll which was refreshing. She had the Buffalo wings which tasted pretty standard. Long story short: the food and service are good, but nothing to write home about. The ambiance is what makes this a fun and unique dining experience!

Why am I now finding out about this gem?? What took me so long to visit? Well, since I'm here now, let me say "thank you" to the entire staff for making this experience inviting from start to finish. Drinks: I love a good cocktail and this place provided great cocktails for under $20. And why is this a big deal? Well, the price of cocktails in D.C. can be ridiculous and honestly, isn't always worth it. This place however, answered the call for quality cocktails at a good price! Selections: I ordered the Paloma in Paradise ($15) and my boyfriend ordered the Buffalo Soldier ($15) I have to cheat and say that his drink was better than mines lol so I ended up ordering it for my second round. The Paloma was simply okay, I've had better. But, the Buffalo solider was a perfect balance of bourbon and that swept me away. Food: Mmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm good. We ordered the Ahi Wonton Nachos ($15) and not only was it shareable but it was DELICIOUS! The tuna was fresh, the blends of flavor were well balanced, and you couldn't help but do a happy dance with each bite. One of my friends ordered the chicken sliders and said that it was scrumptious. Ambiance: I felt like I was in a swimming pool and I loved everything about it! Did I mention that the DJ was lit! YES! He kept me dancing throughout the night. Would I return? YES! I want to return and experience a sit down dinner because this was a friend's birthday celebration so we were in a VIP section. However, the food and drinks definitely made me want to circle back around and visit this place a few more times. Overall, I give them 5 fast clasps and a "bravo" for making Saturday nights fun and tasty at the same time.

Amazing place. My wife and I joined other Swifties upstairs for a TTPD release party when Mae watched the Eras Tour film and listed Ed to TTPD. The food and drinks were all amazing and you can put your drinks on an inflatable flamingo for a nice touch. Love how they have delicious large sushi rolls as well as as other great food options like pineapple guacamole, sandwiches, and chicken wings. The prices are all resolve and the service is wonderful. The seating and decor are also amazing and there is an elevator upstairs so this venue is completely accessible to those with physical disabilities. We look forward to returning!

Shout to Tyler and Ben for phenomenal bar service, creativity and attitude are hard to come by in the bar scene and these gentlemen delivered. This is the place where DC worknights end in celebration. Good music and clean atmosphere. Had a blast chopping it up with the owner, Lance, about restauranteuring and hosting in the dc scene. Definitely coming back for date night dinner with my girl.

I hosted an event with Royal Sands and they were absolutely AMAZING to work with! Rachel was by my side every step of the way, both in the pre-planning stage and during the event itself. They accommodated my every request and were so kind/patient with me throughout the party. They even made custom drink menus for my party!! :) 100/10 experience and would absolutely host with them again. Thank you Rachel & Royal Sands!!
