Room 808 is a unique little spot for comedy lovers in DC, and I'm so glad I gave it a shot! That said, finding the entrance was a bit tricky despite the signage--just something to keep in mind when you visit.Once inside, the venue is exactly what it promises: a no-frills, one-room comedy club. There's no stage--just folding chairs, stage lighting, and a microphone. But what it lacks in polish, it makes up for in charm. The walls are covered in wild and fascinating artwork that adds to the intimate, quirky vibe.Because the venue is small, you'll want to arrive early to snag a good seat. The front row is right in the action (literally inches from the comedian), so sit there if you're brave enough! What makes Room 808 stand out is that it's the first (and possibly only?) comedian-owned comedy club in DC. That gave the experience a cool, local vibe, and it felt great knowing I was supporting DC's comedy culture. Bonus points for being BYOB, with a liquor store conveniently located across the street!I'll definitely be back for another show soon. If you're looking for a laid-back, intimate spot to enjoy local talent, Room 808 is worth checking out!

What a fun experience! I love comedy shows. You never know what will happen. Room 808 is a tiny club with unique & colorful art painted on the walls. The doors open on time, not early. Because I got there early, I had time to grab a glass of wine and the frito micro at San Matteo which was delicious. The club is BYOB so feel free to bring cocktails & snacks. The comedians were funny talking about a range of topics. There plenty of good natured interaction with the audience. ( I assured on guy he didn't look like Paul Giamotti)Bonus: tix are super affordable. Who doesn't need a laugh these days? Treat yo'self!

Quaint little venue with KILLER vibes. I thoroughly enjoyed the comedy show!We stopped across the street to grab some spirits before the show so it was a perfect night cap after dinner at a near by restaurant. Thank you!

This place doesn't seem like much on the outside but don't judge a book by it's cover! We got tickets here for the Thursday FREE secret show. Our set had 5 hilarious comedians that each had their own style that had me laughing til my face hurt. They were able to read the audience well and adjust their sets accordingly, which made for an even more engaging experience. The BYOB is also heavily encouraged since there are no alcohol sales here. There's a liquor store across the street if you need to pick up something on the way. Overall the venue was a cozy spot, and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun and affordable night out.

Came here for a comedy show a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the space. It's basically an art gallery that sets up chairs for cozy, intimate hilarious show. There were 3 comics who performed and they were each hilarious. They allow BYOB so it's very fun, although the crowd can get a bit rowdy because of that. The host and staff were really friendly and the bathroom was clean. Really cool place in the neighborhood!

My wife and I drove an hour and a half for this comedy venue and it was well worth it! It was our wedding anniversary and we planned several things to do in silver spring and ended the night at this place. It's in NW DC, which seemed safe in a residential neighborhood. It's a hole in the wall in between a clothing store and an office space for a pizza place across the street. At first, we weren't sure if the show was going on because we arrived 20 minutes before hand for a 8 pm show and the door was shut and locked. This was a Tuesday. But soon enough, the door opened. My advice is, get there right at the start time or if you're even 10 minutes late, you will be fine. It did not start until about 8:20 pm. The show was FREE, but you still need to reserve your tickets via ticketbrite. The guy at the door simply asked my last name and we got in.It's a small space but makes the whole experience awesome. It's folding chair seating, right in front of the comedian. It's literally just a room with cool show quality lighting and good speaker system. There is also a bathroom attached. It's BYOB but there's a liquor store across the street and they are cool with people just drinking whatever they bring. We saw several comedians who did approximately 10 minute stand up shows each. Some were hilarious, some were funnier than others. Be prepared to laugh though! Each had their own style. Also be prepared to be singled out as no one is safe in this small space. So if you're offended easily or don't like being made fun of, not the spot for you! They also have some unique artwork on the walls for sale. There's a cool chalk board of all the Instagram profiles of the comedians so you can follow them too. The venue accepts donations via Venmo and have cool shirts for sale.I highly recommend this spot for a low key comedy event. Who knows, someone you see might be the next big comedian!

Found out about this place through word of mouth and had to check it out. Was not disappointed. It is a great atmosphere to see some hilarious people! After leaving, I realized I saw a few of the comedians, on IG, a few weeks prior. The shows are free, they allow you to bring your own beverages, and they accept donations to keep their place going. If you're in/around/thinking about going to NW DC, make sure you give them a visit!
