Roha is a new Ethiopian restaurant that recently opened in the Van Dorn Plaza! You can find them next to Unleashed and Java Loco!We were excited to have found that they had a grand opening this past weekend, and they had an extensive menu: beef/lamb/chicken/seafood/vegetarian entrees, combos, and even spaghetti! It was cool to note that they also have HH daily, from 3 to 7 PM!We tried the Goden Tibs and the Veg Combo (came with yemisir wat, kik alicha, debelek atekelete, misir azifa, shiro, gomen, elebete, salad, and beetroots). I'm telling you - this place really gets you the most for your buck - the portions are extremely generous, and with these two orders, it was way more than enough for at least a party of 6.I was disappointed that they didn't have the spiced tea or the sambusas, but next time!The place inside is actually super bright and sophisticated-looking, and the vibe is super laid back and comfortable.Super friendly staff, but note that there is no sense of urgency here; you are coming here to relax, spend some time with your party members, and enjoy the food.You can also make reservations to dine-in or call ahead to have an order for carry-out.Plenty of parking in the plaza lot.+reservations accepted!+located next to Unleashed and Java Loco

The food was delicious and well prepared. Service was relaxed, but I prefer it to servers constantly interrupting. The restaurant was clean and neat. Prices were fair for the experience offered. Overall my experience was pleasant and I look forward to visiting again soon.The experience was on on par with other Ethiopian restaurants I've visited, which is quite different from typical American dining. Expect the food to be served family style and to be eaten traditionally, using torn pieces of injera to scoop up the delicious food. A little messy at first, but very much part of the experience. Some dishes may be spicy, but pleasantly so. If you don't like heat there is a Panera up the road.I tried their vegetarian combo (6-7 different options served with generous amounts of injera) and spiced tea. Definitely recommend giving this place a try. Family establishments like this are part of this neighborhood's charm.I didn't try the bar/hookah lounge.

Warning, warning, danger, Will Robinson!Don't go. Just don't go. My husband and I went there on December 13th and nearly didn't survive the experience. That being said, the place is clean and attractive. There is a hookah bar in the back and the waiter/bartender/apparent manager was busy doing everything and not well.The menus are old menus leftover from another restaurant of older vintage and everything we desired was not available that evening, so we were left to cobble together a meal from the available selections and side orders or walk and appear rude. We should have walked out and appeared rude.The food was not revolting, yet. Getting napkins and eating utensils took forever and only delayed the inevitable which nearly sent is to the emergency room.I came home with a queasy stomach feeling and had to retire early because of the gastric discomfort. My husband got so violently ill he took to the bathroom for 24 hours. He could not work even from home and we had to miss a looked forward to party on the 14th. We discussed calling the emergency services because we were both in gastric distress. I recovered quickly enough but my husband was sick in a way he hadn't been in years.There are plenty of good Ethiopian restaurants in the West End. Eating in this place is tantamount to a suicide mission. Warning, warning, danger, Will Robinson!

Hours are not accurate. We were here at 4:30 on a Saturday and it was closed. Drive from about 30 minutes away, so it was kind of disappointing.
