So there is a barbecue spot that has been around for 30 plus years in D.C. Yep...I'm super late!! But what do they say? Better late than never right? So Let's GO!!.Where I am: @rocklandsbbq.Location Reviewed: 2418 Wisconsin Ave., N.W. Washington D.C..Items Reviewed:STAMP!! Their Half n Half ($3.49 Half lemonade/ice tea). Refreshing, with a real lemon in it!!LIKE THAT!! Their Pit Beef Sandwich ($9.69 smoked beef with raw onions, & horseradish sauce). Well seasoned, smoky, & thick!! With a smoky sauce!DELICIOUS. Their *Special of the Month* A Hand Breaded Fried Chicken Sandwich ($7.49 with lettuce, tomato, onion, aioli, & their spicy mustard bbq sauce). HUGE!! Thinly cut chicken breast...good.STAMP!! Their Small BBQ Fries ($2.99 fries with bbq dust on them). Crispy, with no dip needed!!DELICIOUS. Their Hush Puppies ($2.99). They were just ok.DECENT. Their Mac n Cheese ($3.69 shells, & cheese). I needed this to have more flavor.Their Belly Buster Combo ($22.99 with ribs, a quarter chicken, onions, sausage, brisket, a roll, corn pudding, & collard greens). The ribs were(as tad tough) DELICIOUS.The corn pudding was just DELICIOUS. Recently visited Rocklands, and I must say the service is top tier! Despite how busy they were, they (Carlos and Jeff) took care of me! Kind and personable It felt like a mom and pop vibe with the service alone. I've been going to Rocklands for at least 20 years. Sad they are no longer in Maryland, but anytime I'm in the area, I have to stop by!Ask for Jeff! He's chefs kiss with his patience, kindness and excellent customer service.

3.5 rounded up to 4. Over the years have been to all their locations including Nationals Park and also had their food truck experience.Food: their meats are excellent. Really good smoke on them and juicy. Tasty enough without an sauce. Their approach to brisket is different. They slice it very thin which brings out the smoke flavor even more in my opinion. However, I find their sides to be lacking. They are just there so to speak. Nothing impressive. Service has always been good. Prices are competitive.

I ordinarily get the Rockland's burger. The quality of its signature dish is still high. However, this time when I paid for the meal with a credit card then paid tip with cash--I noticed my burger arrived last. I think the service could be more expeditious or handled in order.

I gotta say I was was pleasantly surprised. I've lived within walking distance of Rocklands for 9 months but the sub par Yelp reviews kept me away. However my wife and I thought we'd finally give it a try because we were craving bbq. The staff was excellent and professional. The pulled pork was some of the best I've ever had! Great variety of sauces as well. I will say the baked beans were so so as well as the collard greens, the fries were excellent! Looking forward to coming back soon and trying other things. Definitely recommend yelpers!

If you love barbeque, you gotta check this place out. It is pretty tiny, consisting of two communal tables inside and a few tables outdoors. I think a lot of their business is pickup or delivery. So the place is nothing fancy, and there is little service outside of the front counter. The main attraction here is the food. My favorite is the pulled pork - they call it chopped. They have tons of hot sauces available as well as their barbecue sauce (it's a little sweet for my taste, but I mix it with the hot sauce, and it comes out just right).They grill the meat right there and don't use any seed oil which is huge for us (and should be for anyone who wants to be healthy - in other words, everyone).

Great BBQ, I absolutely love the flavor of the Ribs, they have a nice smokey taste, nice sauce, chicken was a winner as well, can't go wrong. the Mac and cheese and greens are definitely my go do, Amazing! Walking in this place, gives you a bbq back yard feel pretty much, great customer service, I love the fact that you can see the cook on the grill, that's a plus, but makes it hard to decide what to eat, because everything looks great when it's on the grill. Great Ambiance at Rocklands BBQ, love the restaurant.

We ordered door dash from here yesterday and were a bit disappointed. Their bbq sauce is too vinegary for me. The Spare Ribs were juicy and tender but seasoning lacking. The Grilled Wings were tiny but at least not dry. The Texas Corn Pudding was a miss. It lacked seasoning and was just mushy. I couldn't get pass the consistency. The Macaroni & Cheese was creamy but lacked seasoning too. The only dishes we really enjoyed were the Barbeque Baked Beans and the Collard Greens.

Great selection of food. Great tasting food! Casual environment with outdoor seating. Order was filled very quickly.

Just an update, for the first time I got the "Belly Buster" which comes with ribs, sausage, chicken and beef brisket and it to was excellent! The staff here is always top notch, quick and courteous. Would love to meet the owner some time but will continue to visit whenever I have a bbq craving
