Well although many restaurants are now open, having the BBQ truck coming right to your door definitely beats the hassle of dining out in these COVID times. Rocklands BBQ truly rocks! Ordered the 2-meat platter with cucumber and potato salad sides plus cornbread. Generous portions - and the meats - chopped pork and beef brisket - are super tender and flavorful, delicious salads and the honey jalapeño corn bread is one of the best I'd ever had. Excellent deal - at $15 one platter is enough for two relatively light eaters.

Last week, I was grateful and surprised to see the Rocklands Food Truck near King Street metrorail station during my lunch hour. I have enjoyed my visits to the Rocklands restaurants. So, after reviewing the entree offerings, I took the opportunity to get the brisket sandwich platter. The meat was tangy and I received a healthy portion of two sides for lunch, the potato salad and the corn salad. Nothing special about the potato side, although it had a clean flavor, but the corn salad was VERY good. A nice zesty relish! Also, I got the corn bread. Unfortunately, after walking away, getting to work, and eating a couple bites, I noticed a couple green moldy specks. Seeing this kinda deflated the first Rocklands Barbeque Food truck experience for me as well as the rating (by one star). Next time, I will be inspecting their bread items. The person behind the truck was friendly and accommodating. If I had took the time to look over, I would have traded my corn bread for another one without the specks.Like other food trucks, the menu items were limited, but I hope to try their other food truck options with a concerned eye if they are somewhere near my vicinity. You think something like that would deter me from trying their stuff again. It would but I like their restaurant food.#pleasenomold

Not offensive but humdrum for the cost. I get the feeling that the different Rocklands trucks offer different deals, because the platter format was not what's advertised online and the pricing scales to match it ($12). Brisket (+$1 upgrade) was thin and not quite tender, though I liked the vinegar and touch of smoke. I'm grateful for low carb... the slider bun did its best to stay intact. Mac and cheese shells were just okay, and upstaged by the non-mustard potato salad with parsley and dill. Canned lemonade and other sodas for beverages, Mrs Vickie's kettle chips. Would opt for the cheaper meats next time, and maybe see if the coleslaw and baked beans were less disappointing.

The actual Rocklands restaurant serves up some pretty good barbeque so I was excited to see this mobile version was rolling up to my work 'hood! I stopped by this truck to grab lunch the other day and not even an hour after they opened, they were sold out of pretty much everything. Late pass for me. The only sides left were baked beans and cole slaw (boring...I didn't get either one). I ordered the chopped pork sandwich (one of my favorites) with extra sauce on the side. When I got to my office, the pork was cold, dry and sauceless. No sauce on the sandwich and no extra sauce on the side. I was able to force out some of that fatty flavor after nuking it but it's not exactly something I like to do to food that's supposed to be fresh.Hopefully Rockland's was just having an off day! Maybe I'll be singing another tune once I try some of their other offerings like the mac & cheese, cornbread, and brisket.

I'm sorry but this food truck is a complete rip off. I'm actually embarrassed I fell for it after reading the reviews. There is no value in this meal. For $13 I got a little brisket on a crappy potato bun and a small side of slaw. I wouldn't mind this as much if the brisket or slaw had great flavor, but both had none. And the brisket was cold. Probably worth $6 if that, not $13. Never again. I think DC food trucks have really gone downhill in the past couple years.

I'll start with I've never been to their dine in places, but the food truck was lackluster for the price. The brisket sandwich I had was a good portion but the brisket itself was a bit stringy (good bbq sauce though). The mac&cheese was a little cold and very thick like what you would get from a school cafeteria (but also had a great flavor). Cornbread was average... This is more what I would expect for $8-$10 dollars a plate but not $13. TLDR: Food was well seasoned but the cooking standards seemed off. Nothing was bad but there is a lot of room for improvement. Food was average just like this review.

Legit Rocklands BBQ in food truck form. If you like their food be sure to check out the truck. The chopped pork sandwich was as good as their restaurant, just less side options. If you enjoy BBQ, be sure and give this truck a try.

Glad to see the Rocklands Food Truck rolled up large outside Nats Park. Open during home baseball games this season, it'll be a great place to grab some delicious "Q" before going into the stadium. Menu is pretty limited vs. their regular locations but they crank out the food really quickly! I rocked a BBQ Pork sandwich with coleslaw, cornbread and drink and was very pleased. The slaw was uniquely adorned with peas which I love. The chopped pork was pretty tasty: would've like a touch more sauce (have to ask for this) though the hot sauces available on the picnic tables are decent. I would have like to have scored a beer as well but I'm sure there's some city regulation to prevent them from doing that.

I was really excited to see a variety of food trucks surrounding a park, but obviously I picked wrong. I love brisket, so I ordered a brisket sandwich. The brisket tasted super vinegary and every bite left a sour taste in my mouth. The way they serve the sandwich makes the bread super soggy and impossible to eat without utensils.

I guess their dine-in places are much better? But don't get the food turck food. Prob one of the worst pulled chicken sandwiches I've ever had in my life. Chicken was not cooked thoroughly and BBQ sauce and coleslaw was mediocre at best. Corn bread was okay. Also not worth the price if you ask me.
