Rito Loco Restaurant

BLAND.Chicken burrito, unseasoned.Rice and beans, unseasoned.Employees obnoxiously screaming and laughing so loud my ears were ringing. Definitely felt like i was an unwanted guest in their living room and not a customer.

Rito Loco is a lovely, welcoming institution, with delicious food to boot!I walked into Rito Loco soon after moving to the neighborhood, both lost and hungry. However, the friendly staff quickly put me at ease and set me to perusing a menu.I ordered a carnitas burrito ($10.99), but received so much more. The burrito itself was lined with melted cheese, a rich and delicious surprise. They also included a small bowl of rice and beans, which excellently complemented the burrito.Swing by Rito Loco for a comforting and filling meal at a solid price point.

Unfortunately the overall experience was Meh!!! This past weekend my family and I decided to give this spot a chance. We had a taste for their street corn and had heard good things about the place, unfortunately to our surprise they didn't have corn and because of it being a weekend could not service a party with children. It would have been nice if this was posted on their site or on google but we decided to order carry out nonetheless. The portion were lacking and you don't get what you are paying for and it would have been worth it if the taste were authentic but another disappointment. Couldn't tell you what the ambiance is like since security didn't even let us in due to our party having children.

We ordered the crispy avocado, chips & salsa, fried yucca, birria tacos, and a carne asada burrito. It's the same food offered at el techo but for take out! It's more expensive than some takeout options but my favorite Mexican food in Shaw.

What an awesome spot! Came in for a quick bite to eat for lunch and I loved it! I wouldn't come with too many people at lunch because there isn't a lot of seating but at 5pm they have a rooftop with more seating and a full bar. I definitely want to come back to check it out! Big shout out to the really nice server. He answered all my questions with a smile and made the experience great.Shrimp bowl - 5/5. I practically inhaled my food it was so good! The shrimp were large and marinated to perfection. I loved the rice and beans that came on the bowl. It was a great combination with the shrimp and cabbage on top. I had the regular salsa and it had a lovely roasted flavor. Not spicy to my taste buds so I may try the spicy salsa next time.My friends had the barría tacos and really enjoyed them. I think I'll order them next time I stop in.I love this little spot and so happy I stopped in and tried it today. Can't wait to come back!

Ordered some tacos to go, waited at the restaurant to pick them up. Asked for some water as there was a water dispenser which was empty, was informed that there's no free water, I would have to buy a bottle of water or soda. What is the point of having a water dispenser sitting there if you aren't going to refill it for customers? The birria tacos were lacking flavor and the meat was very chewy, very over cooked. My husband ordered a carnitas burrito, with a side of guacamole on side which he said was edible but lacked seasoning. Avoid this place at any cost.

The birria tacos are amazing. Really good place for carry out due to the small space and lack of seating.

Aesthetically looks good. Taste-wise was still decent and while the flavors are there, they aren't as apparent as I'd expect. Nice crust on the outer part of the tortilla although it did leak somewhat. The salsa verde was good as well. For the price, I wish the burrito was bigger. Good balance of meat, cheese, veggies, etc inside the burrito. Came with beans and rice which I always appreciate and which tasted fine on their own but they mixed well with my remaining salsa verde. I think it is worth a first try if you're in the area which I was but unsure if it's worth another try.

I was very impressed with the food from Rito Loco. The salsa and chips reminded be of Uncle Julios. The tacos were really tasty. I hired them for a client event and their served over 100 people. Everyone was really happy.
