Oh Rise. How I love you so. The absolute freeing feeling being able to grab a quick lunch with my kid (her and I both have allergies) there's just no words.Easily can order online, and be on our way. My kid isn't a big sandwich fan but does enjoy them from here!Don't forget a vanilla donut.

Updated:Okay, so they have definitely done improvements since I last visited this location. I had no intention on going back, but my dad surprised me with a loaf of the cinnamon raisin and one of the seeded breads. The cinnamon raisin is absolutely delicious and close to being sinful- I don't eat it in the morning, I have a slice or two as dessert. I'm obsessed. The seeded bread is okay, I still prefer a Queen St. Bakery item, but it's not bad.The bad-- their puff pastry items (croissant based). I'm not sure if they are trying to use a rough puff technique with gf flour, but it's not working. There's no way it could be the traditional method. I would recommend they decrease the dough and call their filled 'croissants' biscuits. There's is dense, so think biscuits if opting to try any of these. The service is greatly improved, all of the staff were pleasant. I don't expect to be catered to, but in the service industry, at least be cordial. They were all great, I could see it in the way they interacted with each other. It reflected in the atmosphere of the place.

Finding delicious gluten free bakery items is like finding buried treasure, under the sea. They are rare gems and I am glad to help spread the word, when you strike treasure. Last night, I tasted the gingerbread cookies and Yule log from Rise Bakery. I would have never known they were gluten free. The gingerbread cookies were adorable and tasted great. The Yule log was beautifully crafted and a show piece. It tasted just as delicious, as it looked. Service was great. We ordered ahead and it was ready and waiting for us. The place is cute and clean. I would highly recommend this bakery if you want gluten free items, that are tempting and tasted great.

Was excited to try Rise and popped by in the afternoon on a Friday. Was surprised to find they don't have a huge collection of baked goods apart from mostly cupcakes. Was dying for something simple like a croissant or a more savory treat and they didn't have any. Opted for a tea and a apple turnover. The turnover was great! Would be much better warmed up (that wasn't offered as an option so I'm assuming they don't warm things up). Had a nice crust like a pop tart and wasn't too sweet. Tasty regardless of whether you're gluten free or not! The tea was also good but it's hard to mess up tea.The place is pretty small, no seating available. Staff were fast and professional but not necessarily warm. The only complaint is that it's pretty expensive. About $6 for a pretty small pastry and $5 for a cup of tea. I'm fine paying a premium for baked good but tea...I could understand a $5 cup of coffee but tea? Anyways, a nice treat if you're in the area but they don't have a huge selection so no need to come out of your way to go here unless of course you're gluten free in which case this is a great option.

Stumble upon this gluten free small bakery while walking around Adam's Morgan. I ordered the cheesecake brownie. It was delicious! The staff was friendly and very fast which was great because it was busy when I was there. The inside is pretty small so there is not enough seating, which it is okay because there are a couple of benches outside.I do wish the brownie was a bit bigger is size but other than that, I recommend this place

Amazing!!! I had a day off during a work trip and spent the entire day going back and forth between Rise & a nearby coffee shop to work. My only wish is that they had wifi or a larger seating area to be able to hang out there!I had a bagel sandwich for breakfast which was amazing - fresh, a bit crunchy, and flavorful - I didn't love the square eggs, but I know many places mass prepare eggs in that way for sandwiches. I came back for lunch and got an amazing sandwich, plus some sweets to go. The donut, croissant, and cupcake were all delicious! An amazing gluten free find in DC.

Rise Bakery offers a selection of gluten-free breads, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. Today, I indulged in a gluten-free chocolate croissant and some brioche buns, both of which were delicious. However, I was disappointed to find their new item on the menu, a GF pretzel, had sold out--it was only 10:30 am! While their food is always great, the staff could improve their customer service skills. Additionally, the seating area appeared dirty and could benefit from more frequent cleaning.

Yum, yum! When you don't have these options close to home you order a wide assortment of goodness! The buttermilk biscuit with egg and bacon was so delicious! Chocolate eclair! When ever to you get a GF eclair. Can't wait to be hungry and eat the chocolate croissant! Sweet staff!

I have always ordered here from doordash but never actually went. It's cute inside but not a lot of seating only about 4 chairs. The employees were nice and fast. I got the cheesecake and lemon bar but I have had the sandwiches, cupcakes, apple turnover, Yule log, tiramisu, vanilla donuts and probably some other things. I thought everything was good especially since I don't have a lot of options for gluten free baked goods. I have had hit or misses but overall I have loved every baked good. Only reason it's 4 stars is because I have had things I don't like but that could be my palette.

Picked up some treats for my GF friend! They loved them. The only issue is the online menu doesn't match the menu in the store. Soft pretzels aren't sold in the store anymore (you have to buy a pack of two frozen and heat them at home). It was busy but line moved fast! There are about 8 steps into the store with a railing. LGBTQ friendly.
