Came in on a Friday Night with 4 friends. It was such a lovely dinner - but beware, the portions are small. Located off of M st., Rimtang is a new Thai restaurant with a little twist. There is a parking lot next door for $25 or you can find street parking around. As of now, they don't have their liquor license, but they offer a variety of teas and juices. The place looks small, but there is seating downstairs and upstairs. We ordered several dishes and shared family style! My favorites include the Panang Curry, Mama's fried rice and the Kaeng Hanglay (northern Thai curry). Service was quick and top notch. A great place to meet with friends.Overall, it's a decent Thai restaurant, but get ready to spend if you want a full belly.

had lunch with a friend here. fun interior w/ 2 floors, no res on a saturday. overall the flavor is okay, but it seriously gave off 'im cooking for myself' energy which is kinda weird. the way i describe that is like the cuts of food are weird/inconsistent, things are just haphazardly seasoned and thrown together, and the temperature was kinda off? service is great though and the spice is quite solidforgot basically everything we ate because nothing was worth writing home about. also a bit pricey - $36/pp after tax and tip for a lunch that was very reminiscent of leftovers. i think they have a foothold in gtown bc there is pretty weak price/value ratio in the neighborhood anyways and thai food is hard to come by

I recently had dinner here with a friend, and while there were some enjoyable aspects, the experience was mixed overall. The interior is charming, and the second floor adds a surprising amount of space, making it feel larger than it appears from the outside. One disappointment was the lack of a liquor license when we visited--no cocktails or wine was available. While BYOB is an option (as we observed other tables taking advantage of it), this wasn't advertised on their website, which was a let down and felt like a missed opportunity.Overall, while the restaurant has potential and some dishes were decent, there's room for improvement, especially for someone who enjoys Thai cuisine as much as I do.Pad Thai with Chicken - The noodles were overcooked, lacking the bounce and bite I expect, and the flavor could have been improved with more tamarind or shrimp paste for depth and the orange hue I like in my pad thai. (3/5)Chili Jam Clams - The clams had an overpoweringly fishy taste, tasting like salt water, making the dish difficult to enjoy. My friend and I couldn't finish it, which I rarely do because I hate wasting food! While the stir-fry sauce they were cooked in was flavorful, it wasn't enough to redeem the dish. (2/5)Spicy Crispy Calamari - The flavor was enjoyable, but the breading on the calamari didn't stick, which detracted from the experience as some pieces lost their breading. Additionally, serving them in a cup made it hard to retrieve the ones at the bottom without crushing those on top and losing breading in the process. (4/5)For dessert, the Mango Sticky Rice was tasty but served in a disappointingly small portion and dish. The flavors were there, but this could use improvement. (4/5)

I was in the mood for Thai food so I ordered take out. The packaging was good so nothing spilled. I ordered Panang curry with shrimp and fish balls appetizer. I didn't really like the fish balls, texture was not for me. The panang curry was good and had a decent amount of shrimp. I wish they also allowed you to get drinks with takeout because I would have really enjoyed a Thai ice tea with this meal.

THE BIG: Two story, Thai restaurant located in Georgetown, right down the street from the Skims. Main floor has a few tables and kitchen while upstairs is strictly dining and restrooms. Street parking and a parking lot if available.THE BLACK AND WHITE: The flavors were really good here. Portion sizes are quite small. We started off with the steamed dumplings and spicy crispy calamari. Both were great, however the crab dumplings came in 3s which was tiny. Reminded me of shu mai. For the mains, we got the Mama's Fried Rice, Fried Shrimp with Spicy Garlic Salt, Panang Curry, Sai Ua (Thai sausage), and the Kaeng Hanglay (northern thai curry). My favorite was the Kaeng Hanglay curry, and the panang curry. Great flavors and warmed up the body from the cold spell. Least favorite was the sai ua, mainly because the meat inside the sausage was dry as a bean.THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for our dinner for four was around $200. I'll definitely be back to try some more items and hopefully they'll have their liquor license by then.

Did take out and it was delicious. Highly recommend the curries and sausage appetizer. Everything was delicious. Pro tip: dip sausage in parang curry!

Friendly service staff who kept coming to make sure we are well taken care of and fills up my water whenever it's half empty. However, I must admit that the food is pretty average. I tried the Kaeng Tai Pla which is one of their signature dishes and it has a distinct fishy taste / small. My friend got the Shrimp Panang Curry and she also mentioned it's pretty average. Still glad that I tried out this new spot in Georgetown. They offer ample seating including upstairs which has nice wall deco.

Amazing addition to the Georgetown community. Momma's signature dishes are the best. My favorites are the spicy calamari to start followed by the Fried Shrimp w Spicy Garlic Salt

Amazing Northeastern Thai food. Wonderful service and delicious flavors. This new restaurant is only a few weeks old, but will almost certainly do well. The presentation of the food was delightful. They don't have any alcohol. They may be waiting on a license.
