Place is awesome great drinks, food, and service. We both got expresso martinis and some food. The expresso martini was very tasty rich with a big expresso flavor.Mini gyros, tile fish, and fries. The mini gyros tasted great rich and savory but they are mini and are great paired as an appetizer. Tile first was the star of the show. Perfectly cooked and the sauce below the fish adds a nice rich tomato flavor to the dish. The fries were perfectly and crispy came with two sauces. A mayo based one and ketchup. The staff were very nice and friendly. It has a cool modern vibe inside the restaurant.

Residents could actually give me food poisoning and i would still be like "ok the espresso martini tho...."- cheers to the number one espresso martini in D.C. - I'm pretty sure it's because they put ghee in it....I don't even know. the lush chocolate foam sitting on a heavy pour of the most balanced espresso martini. not too sweet or overly creamy yet avoids the watery bittery trap many fall into- Brussels were the perfect flavor combination. the salty felta + tangy mustard + sweet yam sauce. like that's a mathematical equation I can understand! - burger was loved but the best part of this dish was there fries. so insanely crispy without any burnt taste. maintains a slight mush on the inside. they almost like melt in your mouth. amazing slight kick in the seasoning. - chicken schnitzel was O to the K. loved whatever the bed of veggie stuff was it came on, there was something soft and chewy in there...super unique. chicken was good just not much flavor on it or the plain sauce under it so I dunked it in their killer aioli.- they gave us free birthday cream puffs! such a fun unique dessert to have on deck!- place was popping, it's always so popular. I definitely think their warm patio or the third floor are the best seating spots. second floor is eh. the fake plants on that floor weren't my fav and a little trashy

Had been hyped up for Residents for quite a while and finally made it out for Sunday brunch. Service was good, but unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. I ordered the chicken sandwich which even for DC prices was pricey for what it was. The chicken itself was sizable, but was full of cartilage making it difficult and unenjoyable to eat. Fries were just OK. I did like the variety of beverage options (especially tea) on the menu and could see myself ovming back for that, but my recommendation is to skip on the food.

Residents Café was not what I expected. For a Michelin restaurant, I was surprised how very casual both the staff and the restaurant itself were. Is Residents going for a Bohemian feel? Be that as it may, I was a little surprised how rough and a little bit grimy the stairwell was to the restrooms.Nonetheless, the Valentine's Day menu food was the best. It was $49.99/person, which was a better deal than ordering a la carte. We had a reservation and were able to be seated nearly immediately (upstairs by the window), but there was some confusion at the host stand. At least three staffers showed up to ask us about our reservations.JP ordered a gin martini. It was excellent, but we wish the martini glass had thicker walls to keep the drink colder longer.I ordered coffee. It took a while to get to my table and when it got there it was only luke warm. Our server told me their coffee was Americano espresso. It tasted like instant coffee. Even though I asked for cream, they didn't provide me with spoon. To my server's credit when I remarked that the coffee was not hot, she replaced my coffee with a better and hotter batch. We loved the amuse bouche which was a goat cheese cannoli. For appetizers, we had the foie gras mousse and the oxtail croquettes. They were delicious. This was my first experience with foie gras (duck liver) and I quite liked. We both had the Steak Au Poivre as our entrees. Best hanger steak ever. The sauce that came with the steak was just amazing. And the pomme robuchon (mashed potatoes), adorned with bits of chive, were outstanding. I wonder how much butter and cream they used to make them so good! The excellent dessert was a cake/biscuit-like wedge topped with a raspberry sauce and crumbled pistachio. Yet, it was odd that we were provided large soup spoons to eat the dessert. But all in all, an enjoyable dinner.

I loved the environment of this restaurant. We were seated in a cozy booth upstairs - it was packed with pillows and it was almost like sitting around having a meal in your living room. The menu is unique and diverse, so we ordered a bunch of items to share, which was the perfect way to do it. We really enjoyed all of our selections!

Service was attentive, accommodating and thoughtful. This was very much appreciated.Ambience was nice, especially in the dining room that pretty much is the patio seating area. Inside is only bar seating. There is also a basement area, but I did not venture down as it was closed when I was there. It was well heated in the winter, with lovely decorations, and felt very comfortable.Food was great, worthy of the reviews. Lamb gyros were good but the octopus stood out even more. The basque cheesecake was one of the best I have had around and would definitely order this again.

What a smart restaurant, evolving their menu as well as their decorations with the seasons. Cherry blossoms in the spring, winter chalet in the winter, and a cocktail menu that follows suit. It's always hip, flirty and fun for brunch and dinner alike.I recently went here for brunch on a chilly winter day to play catch-up with friends. We sat upstairs (my first time sitting inside) out of fear that the enclosed patio wouldn't be warm enough; but, hanging out downstairs for a bit to check-in showed the patio is indeed sufficiently heated and insulated so don't fear! Will appointed tables and some of my favorite velvet chairs in D.C., don't sleep on sitting inside although the patio is cute! The brunch menu is kept tight with sharable plates (breads and spreads) and a few classic dishes (hash, burgers, sandwiches', frittatas') that have something for everyone. I settled on the brunch chicken sandwich. I added an egg (hard-over) because....brunch. It came with a full salad on the sandwich (pickles, tomatoes, onions) and a side of fries. The chicken was dark meat, delicious, hearty and filling. My friend got the hash which came with a giant piece of thick-cut bacon and was bursting with flavor (could have been a larger serving TBH). Both cocktails were spectacular and beautifully presented. Indeed, everything they serve here is thoughtfully presented.Services is fast and friendly. It is a neighborhood staple and def requires reservations (for a reason). Come check-in once a season, you won't be disappointed!

I really liked the atmosphere for brunch. It's well lit and well decorated and I liked that all the tables were all stone. They have a lot of sweet and savory brunch options like pancakes topped with fruit, French toast bites, avocado toast, and some middle eastern inspired breakfast dishes. I tried the Turkish eggs which came sunny side up over a flatbread topped with soft cheese and a spicy sauce. It was really tasty, I cut it into quarters and folded it into a pita pocket to eat it. The French toast bites looked awesome. The prices are reasonable and the waitstaff were great, our food came out pretty quick. Good place to meet with friends or a group for brunch.

Residents Café is a hidden gem with a great cocktail menu. We ordered the Corn Old Fashioned and the Bee No. 3, and both were impressive. The Corn Old Fashioned had a unique twist on the classic, with a subtle sweetness and complexity that made it memorable. The Bee No. 3 was refreshing, with the perfect balance of floral and citrus notes. The ambiance was relaxed yet stylish, making it a perfect spot for drinks with friends or a casual night out. If you're into well-crafted cocktails, this place should be on your list.
