Reren is an adorable spot in Georgetown delicious ramen and soup dumplings! Fun fact, even Tim Cook has stopped by!The ambiance is a row-house style restaurant that is a boba shop on the first floor and restaurant on the upper floor.Popped into dinner here with a friend on a cold night and enjoyed their happy hour deal of Taiwanese style fried chicken and fries. On the side, we got chicken soup dumplings. This was a delicious combination! The chicken and fries were fresh and flavorful - I specifically appreciated the yum-yum style sauce on top. The soup dumplings were juicy and perfectly meaty. The service was super accommodating with our waitress consistently making sure we understood the menu and were satisfied.Would definitely come back to Reren!

Stumbled into Reren on a cold night before a Wizards game. It was great for convenience of location and warming us up, but the food was average. We ordered the soup dumplings, bao buns and edamame to start. All three were good, but nothing overly memorable. For entrees, my husband got the General Tso's Bourbon Chicken - which he LOVED. This was the best thing we ordered, by far. I ordered the Reren Signature Lamen, which I was honestly a bit disappointed by. It lacked flavor and was just mediocre. The staff was very attentive and kind and the ambiance was cute and cozy. Overall, it was a good experience, though I will most likely not return.

There isn't many Asian restaurants in Georgetown so we decided to go to Reren. I've tried their Chinatown location years ago, however maybe it's this location or my memory is wrong, but I thought the food was average/ok at most. We shared the taiwan style popcorn chicken and I got the dandan noodles and passion boba passion. The popcorn chicken was ok, slightly dry, could be crispier, and needed more flavor. The dandan noodles wasn't spicy or even slightly spicy, and lacked flavor. The drink was ok, but I wouldn't get it again.Reren is on the second floor so you will need to go up a flight of stairs, and there is a few steps up to the entrance door. There is one all gender bathroom.

I'm not one to choose a location based on vibes but this restaurant has such unique and well-designed seating in their upstairs that it feels perfectly paired for sipping on delicious Lamen & soup dumplings! I always ask for a booth by the window for people watching while waiting on my food. Soup dumplings demand to be eaten immediately vs takeout and they deliver on creating a comfy yet chic environment. DON'T MISS: black truffle & pork soup dumplings, The duck Lamen (the broth was delicious and the book choy was amazing!) Service was attentive and helpful as always & I appreciate their fair pricing and swift service in bustling Georgetown.

Service was prompt and attentive. We went on a cold Thursday evening after the Kennedy Center. The soups and dumplings we ordered were the perfect warm comfort food. The restaurant is up a set of steps which can be confusing coming in but once you're there, you're transported to another world that has cozy nooks that look out over the street. The pork soup dumplings were what you would expect. Could have used a little more soup but for DC, it was decent. Their signature dumplings were steamed and felt like a surprise biting into them. Lots of umami flavor burst out of them. The soups were flavorful and warmed us right up!

I recently tried this restaurant's upgraded menu, which now includes Chinese noodles and soup dumplings. The black truffle dish was a highlight, with handmade dumplings and a thin, tender wrap. The Hong-Kong duck noodle was also well-done, with expertly prepared roast duck and soup. However, the Kongfu beef noodle was a letdown, with a Japanese-inspired flavor profile and lukewarm soup. With some improvement, I'd highly recommend this restaurant for its unique and tasty Chinese dishes, including the hard-to-find black truffle option in DC. the restaurant's high-end environment is impressive, with clear attention to detail in its design. The background music is also a nice touch, and the overall ambiance makes it a great spot for taking photos. With some improvement on their noodle dishes, this restaurant could be a top choice for dating

Reren is pretty good! I went in with no expectations, but enjoyed my lunch when I went with my friend last week. I got the dan dan noodles and she got the ghost pepper chicken. The noodles had a nice flavor and as someone who LOVES dan dan noodles, I'd say these were quite tasty. I wish there was a bit more heat and spice (I did end up adding chili oil that they had on the table). But the broth was flavorful and the added toppings were a nice addition--though I personally didn't eat the egg or tomato. The chicken is labeled as spicy, but isn't very spicy. But again, really nice flavor. Good pricing for portion size. Super cute little vibes in the restaurant. Quick service. I'd recommend!

History of Present Indulgence:After a few hours of shopping in Georgetown, AKA leaving expensive stores empty-handed only to go to TJ-Maxx to get the real shopping done, and massively hungover, some food was a must. Physical Exam:Taste - The food here took me back to some of my mom's home-cooking, as well as casual spots I would hit up whenever I traveled back to Shanghai to visit my grandparents. They have dishes from different Chinese cuisines, like the spectacular Toothpick Cumjn Lamb and the Chengdu Spicy Wontons, as well as Taiwanese-style dishes, but it was the sweetness of the Braised Smoked Duck that made me feel nostalgic for home-cooking I haven't had in a long time. The cumin lamb and spicy wontons were yum yum for my tum tum, but could've been spicier. But I also am a very spicy eater. The signature lamen (ramen, but spelled closer to the Chinese pronunciation) was also a simple, but rich soup noodle noodle bowl that was exactly what I needed that day to nurse the hangover I was having. Soupy noodles = Liquid IV for Asians. Service - Our server was LOVELY. She was so nice, almost NPC character from a video game nice. Which is sad how surprising that was, because that means I don't usually expect niceness. I won't go too deep into an expectations of human kindness in a Yelp review though. Environment - The 3 of us were all very jazzed about how fun this place was decorated. It gave a fun bar vibe and I felt like there should be some TVs around and a karaoke machine setup somewhere. The bar was lined up with beer towers, so they must attract a clientele (not to stereotype but probably a significant amount of the Chinese students from Georgetown). I mean it makes sense. Great snackable food that goes well with drinks that they have plenty of (下酒菜 xia jiu cai in Chinese would literally translate to "down wine dishes"), a fully stacked bar, and good music in the background. Food as the vehicle for fun while drinking on a Friday night needs to be more imbued into mainstream culture here. Assessment/Plan:It's kind of a hidden, inconspicuous place on a side street off of M on the 2nd floor of a boba shop. But definitely look for it and go try it out. I'm definitely going back.5 out of 5 stars for food, service, and atmosphere. Really curious what the vibes are at night and hope it gets as lit as it seems setup to be. Give me a beer tower and a couple plates of those cumin lambs, it'll probably be safer to stop serving it with toothpicks by the end of the night!

Came here for dinner with our party of 4 adults plus 1 child on March 26, 2024. The food was extremely underwhelming. We ordered a variety of menu items and they were mostly subpar. The better dishes we had were the spicy wontons and the friend fish filets. The shrimp fried rice, spicy beef lamen, and dan dan noodles were all below average at best. And finally, both pork dumplings we ordered (juicy pork and steamed) were extremely disappointing. Since our group came from Southern California, our tastes are quite refined when it comes to Chinese/Asian cuisine.I'd recommend looking elsewhere for Chinese/Asian food....perhaps look outside of Chinatown.
