An absolute gem! I had no idea this place was here, you'll find it tucked right off North Capitol smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood and I'm so happy to have found a great local spot.The service here is outstanding. The hosts and servers were the warmest most welcoming, kind hearted people. Everyone was smiling and friendly and it made for a really wonderful environment. Our server was so bubbly and attentive and we loved chatting with her.Both of our meals were great! The JesuCristo SLAPPED and was so big eating half was plenty. My friend got the enchiladas and ate every bite. The coffee drinks were awesome. The horchata latte was perfect and the Mexicano (coke and espresso) was a surprising hit.The decor was cute with tons of plants and chilli peppers and it was very homey and down to earth. This is a great neighborhood spot to show up in sneakers and a sweatshirt and haveba great time.They have some outdoor space which I imagine is amazing in the summer. I absolutely can't wait to come back for drinks and tacos and am so happy to of found this gem!!

Was checking Resy while visiting to find somewhere to redeem my $50 Amex credit and came across Republic Cantina. It had good reviews and the menu looked appetizing, so we decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed. We had fajitas for two, which were outstanding. Seasoned well and the tortillas were some of the best I've ever had. We wound up taking enough back to the hotel for a decent lunch the next day.My wife thoroughly enjoyed her mango margarita. I would have loved to have seen soft drink with unlimited refills, but the food made up for that shortcoming. You won't be disappointed!

Great Mexican place in the DC area. They have outdoor seatings that's enclosed and heated. Accessible to all (some tight spaces). Staff was great, made jokes, and was helpful with menu options. Salsa and guacamole was . Best I've had a Mexican restaurant! Entrees were seasoned well, yummy, and good portions.Would definitely come back! (Also if you wear cowboy attire, you'll get a discount)!

Stumbled upon this after touring an apartment in Noma! I wasn't aware they only serve brunch on the weekends (close at 3, reopen at 4 for dinner) and I was a little disappointed as the regular menu seemed more varied. We started chips and guac which was a perfectly sized app. I ordered the pupusa platter and it was also good. However, I felt like it was a bit overpriced at $15 for not having any protein in it. The corn masa was nicely crisped and the melty cheese and salsa were all really good together. It's a little small in there so if I were going for dinner I might try and make a reservation. Great service! I would definitely come here again to try their dinner menu.

Delicious! In a desperate bid to find a brunch reservation for 10 hours later, I was surprised to come across Republic Cantina. I had never heard of it before but it had good reviews and i was able to get a reservation. What a treat? The food was delicious and reasonably prices. There were plenty of gluten free options and it was properly marked. Our server was fantastic and gave us good recommendations since it was our first time. Will definitely be back to try the pupusas. Cute ambiance and they have coat hooks! Will definitely be coming back.

Came here for brunch and really enjoyed their specialty item: brisket, sausage and roasted potatoes. Excited to come back to try their other staple breakfast dishes or happy hour!

Manager Dajani is SUPER nice/friendly. He feels like part of the family as we had a family meal with parents celebrating a birthday. As we walk in. We admire the outdoor plants and cacti. Dajani offered to give us a cutting of the cactus to take home. He is super approachable with a lot of pride in the establishment. Food is very good drinks are impeccable. Again. I will rave about Dajani. He ended up busting out the hot sauces (made in house). Then brought out the really hot stuff. And even went taste for taste with my dad with ghost pepper hot sauce. I needed a frozen marg to cool my mouth off. He gave me an extra for my dad. If you go, ask for the manager Dajani who works Friday - Tuesday. Just say hello to him. Happy hour is 7 days 4-6pm

Stopped by Republic Cantina on a whim on Valentine's Day (totally forgot about the holiday) with a friend & 5yo. They were very busy but sar us on the patio under the heaters. Very friendly staff!! This is probably some of the best Mexican food I've ever had! The chips were perfectly crispy & salted, the salsa was so chunky with a great combo of tomatoes, corn & not too much onion. The agave margaritas were a perfect balance of tequila & agave - not too sweet or tart. We ordered fajitas to share - shrimp & mushroom - and it was so much food! Tons of variety in the dish - cheese, corn, peppers, tofu, mushrooms. We were stuffed. I would DEFINITELY recommend & will be back!!

A pleasant surprise and neighborhood favorite of my friends who live in DC! Whatever the complimentary salsa to start out as? I would literally drink it. As for the Birria Tacos, which was my entree, they had the perfect char and crisp to them and made for a wonderful greasy gathering of goodness. That consumme was incredible too. My friends loved the fajitas (I mean LOOK AT THAT STEAK) and veggie enchiladas too. The Happy Hour deals are actually pretty generous considering the normal DC prices I usually expect. The interior was really festively decorated for the holidays and made for such a cute atmosphere. Not too loud or crowded, and fairly reasonable prices. Our food was out QUICK and service was reliable.
