I don't live close to Red's but each time I dine here, I think to myself, "I should come here more often."And it's true! Red's is a such an easy, pleasant, reliable spot to enjoy a meal and drinks. Service: friendly, accommodating, attentive (but not overly so!), knowledgeable Food: quality ingredients, nice portions (not insane amounts of food but you're not leaving hungry), and nicely presented (without being fussy). And although I'm not vegetarian or vegan, they have a few nice selections for those who are. Atmosphere: comfortable and warm inside. Outside seating (when the weather is amenable) is an absolute delight (soothing water view, anyone?). Logistics: they take reservations (always appreciated), and there is ample free parking. Red's, I hope you're around for a long time. And I hope I remember to join you more often. Keep up the good work.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants around. I would gather family and friends, attend most of their special event dinners, and even attended a friends wedding reception here - it was wonderful. Until recently... I'm not sure what's happened, but ever since the chef change the quality has gone down hill. Since then I've had cold (not on purpose) lobster, cold soup, tasteless starters, and inconsistent dishes that were once my go-to's. Once I came for brunch and when I left to go to the bathroom they took my plate and tossed it. I had hardly even ate any. Of course they re-made it, but the service has also suffered in comparison to years past.Honestly, the last event (bourbon dinner) was quite terrible. I had raved about the dinners for so long that when a friend was finally able to attend I was embarrassed. We had specifically requested a gluten free menu for him and they forgot to bring a GF dish every-single-time. The food was very underwhelming and we all left hungry and didn't even care to finish some of the dishes. I don't think there was one of us out of a party of 8 that finished all of the courses. Please fix the food. I want to come back and enjoy Red's table like old times :(

We just had a horrible experience at Red's table. Went there with my wife and daughter, and we ordered the goat cheese fritters, kid's pomodoro pasta, ricotta gnocchi and the NY strip steak. The good:The goat cheese fritters were good, no complaints. The bad:The kid's pasta was raw, not al dente. (also, who would even make pasta al dente for kids?). When I say raw, I mean you could see the thick white strip of uncooked pasta when you cut the penne in half. The horrible:Both the gnocchi AND the steak tasted like rancid oil, or rancid meat or something. We tried the gnocchi first, and immediately gagged. We tried to flag down our waitress, but she took a while coming over. In the meantime, I tried the steak, and ...same exact taste! Seriously awful, off-putting rancid taste. We immediately went in and told the waitress. She asked if we wanted them to cook it again...like, no, I don't want NEW rancid food. The fact that TWO different dishes had the exact same awful taste is a pretty good indication that it's something bigger than just the one dish. They brought the check, and we paid for the fritters and the pasta and got out of there as fast as possible. The most frustrating thing was, nobody apologized, there was no coupon or comping of anything we DID eat, nothing. With disgusting food and awful management, we will never go back to Red's table.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. The covered patio is nice with a lovely lake view. The outside temps were low 60's so with the indoor heaters, the patio was the perfect temp. Our only complaint is that it took a while for a server to come by (we had to ask for one). But otherwise everything was great. The fried chicken sandwich was AMAZING along with the onion rings. I was worried the ciabatta bread would be hard but it wasn't at all. Everyone at my table loved their food.

I simply love this place. I have been going to this place for over 7 years now, and it has never failed to bring a smile on my face . The servers are always smiling and welcoming. The menu is simple and mouth watering. You really can't go wrong. Their drinks are really good. And the most fabulous part of this place is the lake location. One really can't beat this.

We had a fantastic brunch. It was a beautiful late fall morning on the patio overlooking the lake. Allie our server was excellent and the food was really well done. We had a few appetizers - goat cheese balls, crab dip, and boom boom shrimp, along with chicken and waffles and a couple breakfast sandwiches. Lots of layers of flavor, really fresh, really well done. Wish we were closer so we could visit more often.

I've dined at Red's Table for seven years, always at the request of family and friends. I even wrote an excellent review representing my friends' opinions of their experiences. You'll love Red's Table if you do not have a plant-based, whole-food diet. The ambiance on the patio by Lake Thoreau is lovely. The wait staff is attentive and efficient; folks like the food. They get five stars for all that. However, I'm writing this review for Vegans. If you are Vegan, Red's Table does not cater to you. Each time I go there, I have requested vegan food, but they only have a side of vegetables. Then I went home to finish my meal because I was hungry. The side of spinach I ordered once was so salty I couldn't eat it. They have mixed vegetables as a side--boring, with no spices or sauce. How is it that the owner or chef doesn't get it that vegans need to eat? How difficult would it be for them to keep grains, beans, or lentils in the cupboard to make a simple but substantial lettuce salad? I'm not talking about their iceberg lettuce here. With the thousands of vegan recipes online, why can't the chef pick one and add it to the menu? I say "no thanks" to the transition food that seems to be the craze, Beyond Beef burger, which tastes like meat and has animal fat! Also, don't be fooled by the V next to some items on their menu. They are not Vegan. They are VEG (vegetarian)--all contain cheese or some dairy. Can you tell I'm tired of being discriminated against? I can go to any restaurant in other parts of the world, and I always have a choice of vegan options. Are Americans so brainwashed with junk food and addictions to salt, fat, and sugar that healthy food is no longer an option? I'd love to return to my neighborhood restaurant, Red's Table, if they offered me one vegan meal on the menu, just one!
