Can't beat the happy hour menu and creative cocktail specials. I've only sat at the bar and have always had great service and good food. Usually just get oysters and drinks and I can vouch for those as top top notch. The bar area is really comfortable with a nice view around the 270 degree glass enclosure. They always have a good HH selection of fresh bivalves locally sourced and with different flavor profiles. Also have had the fry basket and it is tasty changeup from the oysters. Excellent grilled oysters that are too expensive not to get at HH, but I digress. I've copied a drink recipe to make at home it was so good: Dante's Inferno, a spicy Negroni-esque concoction both dangerous and necessary.

Unsure how to review because, my partner and I ended up with some digestive issues post oysters here this weekend. We had no idea there was a holiday boat parade, and the warf was crowded. It was my birthday! I requested oysters and a martini. The gin martini on the menu was pretty good. Didn't love the pickled onion but did enjoy the pickles We got a dozen oysters, 4 of each of the offerings. And they were great! So we thought. In the middle of the night my boyfriend was up and in the bathroom. I quickly found myself doing the same the next morning. We had to cancel our plans for the following day so no more birthday celebration due to digestive issues, which continue to gently plague us 36 hours later. *update it was 3 days of digestive distress. That being said, we were seated quickly, the service was friendly, it was cold and outside and more heaters would have been nice. Would i go back for oysters......no?

A solid oysters experience on The Wharf. Happy hour is the place to be here, as they do $2 oysters and $1.50 clams. They also have a nice selection of fresh salads and other seafood dishes. I haven't had it, but the whole branding looks delicious. The one drawback for me: I prefer West Coast oysters, and you'll only find East Coast / Virginia oysters here.

We stopped in for lunch with friends after taking in some of the sights of D.C.. It's conveniently located not far from the heart of D.C. and a semi scenic spot if you choose to dine outdoors since it's right on the water. We ubered, so I'm not sure what the parking situation is, but it was an easy walk from the drop off area. We chose to sit indoors, but were still able to have a clear view outside and see Marine One fly by as we enjoyed our lunch. Service was good, and everything was delicious. My child especially loved the scallops. There are so many good options in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one. From start to finish it was a great meal.

I went two weekends in a row. First time with my sister and friend. I sat in the covered outdoor area both times, just lovely! A vibe! The inside bar is also a vibe. Lots of natural light which I love. The first time, Sandra kindly took care of us and the second time it was a gentlemen names Barry. They both were great. All the staff are friendly and efficient. Food comes out fast and is delicious! We rode city bikes to the restaurant, which is always fun. Parking is rough unless you park in the lot and pay $30.FOODOysters - yummy and fresh!Tuna tartare - so so so good! Maybe the best I've ever tried. Got it both times I visited.Burger and fries - well seasoned! Both the fries and the burger. I liked the kind of fries they served and the seasoning they comes with it. Ceasar salad - nothing to write home about but good if that's what you're in the mood for. Drinks were also great!! Every drink we got we loved!! And the garnishes were well done. Bravo to the whole team! We will be back!

Great options with indoor, outdoor, and shaded seating options! The food was okay... I enjoyed the olde Salt oysters and the fries the most. I did not like the asparagus and burrata salad at all.The service at the bar was friendly, helpful, and fast. Overall, it's a great spot on the wharf giving a "DC vibe" that's not the stuffy. I was a little surprised the way the bill stacked up but I'll be back and have no problem bringing friends and family

The food is just ok. With so many places to choose from on the wharf, I would go somewhere else before coming back here, sadly. The menu is rather boring and the food is mediocre at best. Drinks are inventive so I'll give them that. The wait staff was efficient and friendly.

We had a pleasant birthday lunch for my mom at Rappahannock. The indoor/outdoor area is nice and bright and looks out over the wharf. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I liked my tuna tartare (fresh, if not particularly exciting sauce/flavors) and oysters. My mom really liked her scallop and pork belly dish. My sister and husband enjoyed their crab cakes (I got a bite and it was good but not remarkable). My brother in law seemed to enjoy his oyster po boy. My dad's complaint was that the fried combo platter was too spicey (because of the old bay). I tried a few french fries and the were soggy, not crispy. My main complaint was the price: $35-40 for a lunch entree is pretty steep and the fact that they didn't offer anything special to my mom for her birthday (even a tiny sweet would have gone a long way as a gesture considering our $400 check) knocked my review from 4 stars to 3. .

The octopus here was amazing! We loved the bed of veggies that is came on as well. This was definitely the best dish we tried. The oysters were super fresh! We split an order of 6 and mix and matches the variety. And I also really liked the Caesar salad with shrimp. The lettuce was crispy and fresh. Overall, the food was really solid! I would definitely come back again. The service was good, too. And you can sit on the porch with a nice view of the Wharf.

So yes it is an Oyster Bar but where are the Oysters??? We went there and there was only three types of oysters to choose from. They were ok but priced at $3/piece. You really have to pace your eating and chew very very slowly at that price. What is the most annoying is the high prices for average food. The tuna tartar we ordered was $25 and the ceviche $17. Both were rather bland. The tartare was served on top of very meshed overripe avocados. I saw one staff at the open bar pull out of the fridge a container of that same avocado mash. When you pay such prices you expect freshness and your food made with ingredients recently prepared. The ceviche was ok but it felt that the ceviche had sat in the marinade for hours as it was a bit more watery than a freshly made ceviche tastes like. All we had to eat it with it was a few plantain chips and fortunately we had ordered garlic bread (which was more of a fluffy brioche) at $5.I also was annoyed by a staff member who very noisily pulled out a metal chair next to us to stand on it to restock bottles on a shelf. Not only that noise was loud and startling but she also did not wipe the seat she stepped on after she was done, so I guess the next customer will sit on a seat that was stepped on. That was not the only loud noise we experienced and it was annoying to have all this moving around for things that should be done when customers are not around. We skipped the dessert priced at $12 and took our business elsewhere after paying a bill of nearly $100 for two without even a drink.I am sorry but if you are going to charge such prices, you have to deliver and not think people will happily pay, not notice and be quiet. Being a "bar" is not an excused to inflate prices.
