More expensive than your usual experience, but totally worth the splurge for their beef options. They do have an AYCE option and all the extras that we like (garlic/jalapeno/lettuce)

Puzukan has become my go-to for KBBQ of late. Primarily for two reason: (1) Gluten-free kimchi and an allergens cheatsheet so they know what they're actually talking about; and (2) the charcoal taste of all the meats that come off the grill, yum.Puzukan is above your typical KBBQ price-range, offering both AYCE option (base at $55) and A La Carte options. I've gone for both and generally find the AYCE more appetizing to me as I primarily just go for brisket, and with the AYCE option you do get one-piece of their "premium meat" which for me I always get the Unmarinated Prime Kalbi. Their brisket (Chadol) is interesting, in a good way. It's got a lot of marbling and fat, and yet still has quite a bit of bite to it (a little chewy, but not necessarily in a bad way). The extra charcoal pieces they throw in below the grill adds a nice smokey flavoring to the brisket that you will come to love. The premium Unmarinated Prime Kalbi is also an excellent cut of meat that is juicy and tender and plays well a dabble of sesame oil and salt. The panchan is solid (yay for gluten-free kimchi -- did you know many of the KBBQ establishments use gluten in their kimchi?!) and they offer corn cheese, steamed eggs, and a couple different soups as additional complimentary sides with the AYCE option. The service is always great here - the servers are attentive and standing by, and always make an effort to grill for you, even if you're an expert or just love to do it yourself. As a DIYer, I usually like to cook everything myself, but with Puzukan they are so attentive and do actually grill things well, that I tend to let them take the reigns more often than not.The other nice thing about Puzukan is that although it's a relatively small restaurant (seating-wise), I almost never have issues getting a table even on a weekend if I show up at 5-530pm.TL;DR: Great KBBQ option with quality and premium meats. Gluten-free kimchi and lots of sides to compliment your AYCE offering. A little pricey but it includes one of their premium meats, which the unmarined kalbi is the bomb dot com (do kids still say that these days?!). Service is top-notch and this is one of the very few places that I'll let them handle the grilling due to consistency and attentiveness (doesn't let things get overcooked).

I went there during busy hours with a group and we were perplexed this place wasn't crowded at all for the quality of meat they offered! Grills like these are usually packed with a usual wait time of 45 min to 1 hour. We got a table right away and we were kind of doubting if it would be good. Trust me though it was really good!We all shared a set of plates instead of going for the buffet option and that was plenty enough meat for us. The meats were fresh and seasoned well. The side dishes were spectacular. The egg was perfectly cooked. Corn and cheese was amazing! Very responsive staff too. Again, I don't get why it wasn't that crowded when we went. The place is a little small and I felt the lighting to be a bit dim. That doesn't matter though. The food is really good. Try this grill out!

Ayce premium quality meat such as brisket and pork belly. Includes banchan, beef radish soup, steamed egg, corn cheese, glass noodles. Great deal. Excellent service. Tip: don't let the server have you speed eating, you can grill yourself.

Really really delicious rib meat and fantastic cuts of high quality meat. However, you can barely taste the charcoal since the really use gas and just stick a few prices of charcoal inside the grill. The staff don't seem too happy to be there but they are expert grillers. We did the all you can eat but I felt a little nickel and dimed on extras like soup and rice. Et. The day we went there wasn't enough staff on hand so they extended our eating time. For the high price and promise of charcoal taste, I probably won't be back.

We always enjoy Puzukan Tan and love taking any out of town visitors here when we're all craving Korean BBQ. There's a variety of high-quality meats to choose from and my kids especially enjoy the beef and radish soup. There's an excellent ventilation system that prevents smoke and smells from accumulating and the staff is always kind, but especially efficient.

Overall, not a bad spot for KBBQ - you can choose AYCE or off the ala carte menu. I tried both on two separate occasions and was not disappointed. Plenty of meat options. Staff was attentive to us and helped grill the meat. Ambiance is modern and clean. I would not get the potato pancake again, but would get the bingsoo for dessert again! Make a reservation if you have a large group or planning to dine on the weekend. The space is not super large so you may have to wait if you walk in without resy! Parking available in the shopping center lot!

Expect to wait for 20-40 mins. It's great for family and friends. I think it's up to 6 people at the table. We did the AYCE that's give you 1 premium meat per person. The sides were little different from other places. They gave us the usual of kimchi, salad, and pickled radish. But the meat broth, steamed egg, and corn cheese came with it too. 1st came out the premium meat. I loved the prime marinated kalbi. It was perfectly juicy. The dry aged rib eye was more tender, chewy, and like steak texture. My favorite were the smoked pork belly, fresh pork belly, and curry beef. It's so unique and not sold at most places. The Chadol was alright but tasted little like styrofoam. The pork shoulder is so tender and so filling. I would eat this last or don't get this. Lastly, we got the bulgogi. It wasn't that good but that might have been it got cold that's why. Overall it's my favorite kbbq.

If you are in the Merrifield/Falls Church area and craving KBBQ, hit up Puzukan Tan. It isn't too far from Inova Fairfax Hospital and is located in the Aldi shopping center (where Grevey's used to be for you old timers). It is located towards the back and isn't a huge space but is decorated in the typical KBBQ look and feel with numerous tables installed with smoke exhausts at each table. I must say the exhausts do a pretty good job here as we left and I didn't really smell like KBBQ afterwards so that's a positive.Their banchan is typical (Salad, kimchi, radishes, etc) but they also give you japchae. Instead of the typical Doenjang Jigae, they give you a nice comforting beef/radish soup...really liked that on a cold night. For our meats, we order our usual Chaedolbaegi (Brisket) and the marinated Kalbi. The brisket was a bit on the extra fatty side compared to other KBBQ joints, however, I assume some folks may prefer that. The marinated Kalbi has a nice flavor to it. I thought it may have been a bit salty but good balance between salty and sweet. We also ordered the Kimchi/bacon fried rice and the Bibim Naengmeon..enjoyed both of those and they complement the bbq meats nicely.Overall we enjoyed our first trip to Puzukan Tan and if we are in the area will be back.

I recently came back here for dinner and had a wonderful experience. This restaurant has become my go to KBBQ spot and this last time dining there has reaffirmed my stance. Great service from the staff and quality and taste of the meats and side dishes were great. Prices are steep but I think for the service and quality of food; it is worth it.
