This is my new favorite bar and late night hang spot!!!! It's a small space (22 seats) with an upstairs that you can book for a private gathering! They do take reservations, but you will have to put a $10 nonrefundable deposit for each seat. If you do a walk-in, recommend coming before 6pm for weekends. The bartenders and servers are super kind and fun here!I would come a little hungry, because not only are the cocktails amazing here, but so is the food. I love the mix of Taiwanese and Latin American flavors and ingredients with each drink and dish. The menu is constantly rotating too. Some of my favorites drinks are Sabanetas, Cafe de Olla, Run Bing with Nai Nai, and Lights of the Night Market. My favorite snacks have been the Tomate con Tomate, Roasted Eggplant Pupusa, Pan de Playa, and Confit Duck Leg!

Big fan right here!As soon as Providencia first opened, I started hearing the buzz from many of my friends. So within the first few weeks of opening I made sure to drop by.My first visit was on a Friday night and to no surprise, the place was packed. Cozy and beautiful, but packed. It made it a little challenging to really sink in and enjoy myself, but I did enjoy the ambiance, the cocktails were great and the folks that work here, so kind.My second visit was on a week night and it was much more relaxed. I was able to kick it, laugh, enjoy my drinks and was so grateful for Danny and Pedro's utmost hospitality. I left feeling so warm - like my whole evening felt like a big old hug. It was so good for the soul! The location is a bit tricky to find based on the address since it's kind of in the middle if an alley. Just be mindful of that if you can't figure it out a first. But overall, Providencia is such a vibe and I look forward to my next visit!

What a delightful little gem tucked into the alley behind H & 13th! (Recommend not walking into that alley on your own at night, by the way -- meet up with your group before you enter the alley. Safety first.)EXCELLENT service and staff. I was telling people days after my visit that the people there were lovely, attentive, but most refreshing of all: friendly. Genuinely friendly. And the cocktails and dessert were special. Delicious, attractive, and a bit unexpected with flavors and presentation. Small but on the night I visited, easy to walk in and find a space upstairs when the lower floor (bar area) was full. This is a converted apartment that feels like a speakeasy. I can't wait to return. Walk-in only, I believe.

This bar is such a vibe!! It's a small place but the drinks and the service were amazing. Some of our cocktails came with small cat figurines that you could "adopt" for an additional fee so I ended up adopting a bunch...but the bartender saw how overzealous we were and gave us some extras haha! The dessert is AWESOME (definitely get the shaved ice), but if you're hoping to also have dinner here I wouldn't bet on it. The portions are small and the food menu left much to be desired. However, it did not take away from the rest of the experience!

Everything was great. The crab sandwich was what I was looking forward to and I really really enjoyed it. I got a little turned around getting to the restaurant, but once I figured it out, I loved the moody atmosphere. The service was spectacular. We received just the right amount of attention from the staff where we could talk and not be interrupted, while they perfectly interjected to see if we needed more of anything. I'd definitely recommend and return.

Great, wonderful, fantastic, intimate setting with craft cocktail and delicious bites. I had a classic cocktail with a twist and a delicious cocktail off the menu. I also ate the pupusa and the crab sandwich--both outstanding!

If you like thoughtfully crafted and super unique (and ever so slightly bougie) cocktails, this is your spot! It's very small and intimate. Great service!

I saw Providencia in an eater article and so glad I got to try it while I was in town, it was amazing. The Baked Alaska was the star of the show with guava and strawberry puree and grass jelly, coconut jelly and a fluffy marshmallow crème exterior. I enjoyed the cocktail and other food items we got too, mainly the pan de playa which was Maryland crab on milk bread and the roasted eggplant pupusa. The plantain and hojicha tiramisu had a unique tea flavor but I want to come back and get my own Baked Alaska. I also want to try the Taiwanese inspired cocktails.

A tiny bar in a mural-covered alley? Yes, please! Seating less than thirty across two floors in an old rowhouse, this bar is among the most innovative in D.C. Here's why.1) Drinks: Cocktails range from $9 to $18 and blend flavors of Taiwan and El Salvador, the birthplaces of the partners. Flavors like sesame horchata, plantains, oolong tea, and guava are found in cocktails. Enjoying more sweet and/or sour cocktails, I loved the "A Trevete Te Te," "Sabanetas," and "Run Bing With Nai Nai." Each was creative and well balanced. 2) Space: Its small and simple. That way they can focus on their cocktails and food menu. There's bar seating and window seating on high top chairs on the bottom floor and a few seats upstairs.3) Entry: Open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 pm to midnight, they don't take reservations. A friend and I walked in on a Wednesday around 8:15 pm and joined the waitlist. Our seats were ready under ten minutes!

Really cool cocktail bar with quality desserts. The interior is very dark and intimate. There is probably seating for 10 people max in this bar. Loved my nube morada and baked Alaska. The Alaska came with some fresh coconut meringue, strawberries and lychee. Loved the textures and flavors. I'll def be back to try some of their other cocktails and desserts
