Proper 21 - F Street

Can't say enough great things about this place. Had their smash burger two days in a row because it was so good. The host was extremely nice and stored our suitcases. This place is a must!

Great place for an afternoon drink. Came in around 4:30 and there were only a few people there. Within an hour, the place was full. They have a good selection of beer on tap, three bartenders working the bar, and four TVs with sports and news on.

This place is super cute. Came on Saturday night to watch the game with friends and the place was bustling. The bar area is around 20 stools and a slew of high top tables with ample tvs so you can see the games from anywhere. This is on top of random TVs throughout the location so it's an ideal place to go for good food and games. I sat at the bar and was serviced immediately and routinely checked on. I ordered a lemon drop (of course) gold rush wings and the Garlic Wine mussels. Lemon Drop - 10/10, no notes, perfect balance of vodka. Gold Rush Wings - 10/10 - perfect crunch, great blend of spicy and sweet. Mussels - 8/10 - broth could've been seasoned better in my opinion but the mussels themselves were good quality and only two went unopened which I would say speaks to the quality of the batch I received. Parking is a bit chaotic down here but street parking was available for around $5 otherwise you'll have to find a garage. I would absolutely come back to this location and have been bragging about the wings since I left.

Yummy! Came to Proper 21 on a Friday evening and was shocked that it wasn't more packed. I was there a few weeks ago during the week and the place was packed. I came with a friend after exploring the Christmas markets. There were open spots at the bar so we sat there. We are both loving cider right now so we got the cider on draft to drink. And we ordered wings and the burger. I love that we were able to split the wing flavors. We got buffalo and the gold rush as flavors. The gold rush is supposed to be a combo of multiple flavors. It was actually the spicier of the two. Both wing flavors were delicious. The burger was also really good. Will continue to come back to Proper 21 in the future.

I've come here for many a happy hour but the key is that I also come back here after happy hour just for the vibes. This is a solid place. Solid beer options. Solid bar tenders making good drinks. That's all that really matters...but there's more. They have a good menu and their food is good. The servers are attentive. There's enough TVs to give a sports bar vibe, but enough décor and ambiance to not feel like you're at a sports bar. It's quite a proper bar/ restaurant. I like it here and always look forward to meeting up with friends at this location.

Stopped by for a quick late dinner that turned into a long night with drinks. That speaks to the great atmosphere and service we received. The place has a loud ambiance very close to being in a club. If you don't mind loud music, this is the place for you.We loved the Red Sangria, the Rumchata drink, and the Birria rolls! Highly recommend.The dressing on the Caesar salad was good just not our favorite. It had a close taste to mayo. The poached pear was very tasty. It was just one of those dishes that gets sweeter the more you keep eating. The Rigatoni was very close to making our recommended list. The sauce was too watery.

Big fan! Came here before a show at National Theatre and we had a very delicious meal. Our server was attentive and made sure we had what we wanted in time to make it to the show. The drinks are very tasty. We ordered the fall burrata and the margherita flatbread with pesto drizzle, and they were both delicious. It is dark in there, but the ambiance is nice. I intend for us to come back here again in the future before another show!

Cute popular spot in downtown DC! I came in before having dinner. I had the truffle fries and a lemon drop. The lemon drop was a little over priced than most. I assume the bartender gave me the good stuff. So props to her, but I would have liked to know first. The fries were yummy also, they come with a garlic/mayo based aioli sauce & asked for ketchup.

This bar is right across from where I work in DC. I've seen it hopping when I leave work. I met a friend there on Monday during Thanksgiving week so it wasn't too busy. The bartender was attentive and suggested the smash burger vs the Proper burger. It was a good burger with fries at $20.Happy Hour was 3:30-6:30pm with the usual well drafts, wine, margarita and some bites.Nice and clean bar.Lots of TVs around the bat to watch your favorite sports. It's conveniently located about a block from Metro Center and the Warner Theatre.Typical DC decor so a little more fancy than what you would find on U St or Adam's Morgan.

We had a semi-private event at this space, and it was fantastic. Food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
