In a bit of a remote location, and service was a bit on the slower side, but the food was pretty good. Not too many people for a Saturday night and we were able to make reservations day of which was good for us. The decor and vibe were really nice.Brussel sprouts a bit greasy but the trout and it's accompaniments were perfect. The shortbread dessert wasn't too sweet and was different than other desserts.

Very cute place that's become a regular dinner stop before (or after) a movie. The wine list is really where this place stands out... the by-the-glass at happy hour is honestly just a steal. The menu is always changing and with that comes some ups and downs, but on average it's hard to be disappointed here. The burger and the pasta or rissoto are always tasty and solid values.

Gotta love a good brunch! We were welcomed in to a nice crowd, DJ, & a great playlist. I hope they keep that up because the vibe was nice. I gave 4 stars because they only had 1 waiter for the entire place so service was pretty slow.

Decent food and the service was friendly and consistent! We had a group of 3 and came here for a late lunch. I loved their duck hash - wish there was more duck on the plate so that I could eat it proportionally with the amount of potatoes I had. The sweet potato crème brûlée was good but too dense for me, and therefore didn't satisfy me the way other crème brûlées do.

This is such a gem of a place! I made a mistake of not taking photos, so I'll do my best to describe everything. I'll definitely be back! We met a friend for HH and it was a fabulous experience. The entire restaurant is immaculately decorated, it felt very art forward. My friend and I had the French 75 from the HH menu - which was not too sweet, but could have a splash more sparkling wine. My husband had the rose and really loved it! We shared the fries with herbs and dijonaise. We could not stop eating them and ended up ordering a second! Then we had the shishito peppers and the liege salad, both delicious. The liege salad was the clear front runner at the table, fresh veggies with a creamy dressing and the perfect amount of crunch! It will definitely be on the list when we go back!

This is easily one of our favorite local spots. The service is always excellent, with attentive management that makes you feel at home. Their rotating menu is consistently creative and delicious, and the wine selection is top-notch. It has a unique, cozy ambiance, and it's the perfect place for a relaxed yet classy dining experience.

We came to Primrose for brunch, a French wine bar and bistro located in the Brookland 'hood.I had the French Toast (brioche topped with chantilly and strawberries & blueberries, served with maple syrup), while my dining partner had the Primrose SMASH! Burger (with gruyere, onion jam, and mayo). The French Toast was super dried, and not sure if it was in the batter long enough before being prepared. The SMASH! Burger was okay, and tasted similar to eating a cup of French onion soup with the caramelized onions and the gruyere.Portions are on the smaller end, so this place is a good option for a lighter fare?Service was okay. The interior of the restaurant is pretty - loved the ornate ceiling decor and the plumed feather fixtures.Street parking can be found in the area.+dry French Toast+okay service+easy street parking in the area

I was finally able to make my grand entrance into Primrose. It slipped my mind that it was nestled in the Brookland neighborhood, but it was easy to get to from my far, far away land.Double patio, diagonal entry way, antique touches, distressed paint/walls were perfect touches to my gals brunch. The staff was adorable. Each of them.I made sure to order the French 75. Scrumptious. I also could NOT resist the biscuits and gravy. Just right, not overpowering. The other gals liked their orders too. But I vote for the biscuits. May try something else next time. Sorry no pics of food....I devoured it.Came back to add that as a bacon connoisseur, I preferred two sides....

Delicious, family friendly spot. My only complaint is with the 20% fee it makes for an expensive brunch. However, the service, ambiance, and overall experience make it worth it!

love this place! A fantastic gem. It's perfect for family, friends, and dates nights. I love that they have a "kids" menu. The food is great, French inspired, great quality, but not overly fussy. the place has a real causal, neighborly vibe to it. The prices are good given the quality of the food. Service is exceptional without being pushy. It's the kind of place you want to linger and enjoy.
