Potomac Social Tavern

Standard hotel bar/restaurant. Nothing fancy, drinks are $1 or $2 more expensive than they should be and the food is underwhelming. But, as always, a bar is better than no bar.

This place is located in a hotel - Crown Plaza Crystal City. This wasn't clear, but I probably just missed that. Parked in the street using the park app. There is a parking garage. I do r know if they validate for restaurant business.Restaurant is pretty small. We weee promptly greeted and seated at a table for 2.Wife had the autumn inspired sangria. I stuck with water this trip.Menu was reasonable in depth and price. Not bad for DC metro at least.We started with the mezzeh appetizer. Super good.I had the burger. I can't remember what the wife had, but she smiled through the meal, so it must have been fine.Good service. Good vibe.Recommended while in Crystal City area.

So I was back at Crowne Hotel and decided to try Potomac again because it's hit or miss. It was St Paddy's day weekend so they had some specials going on so babe and I gave it a try. The specials were delicious.... I had the Lamb Chops w/ mashed potatoes and carrots and Babe had the seafood Chowder thumbs up this time. We sat at the bar and as always the waitress was great and the service was much better.

We got mussels, steak, tacos and calamari and all three were fantastic. The only negative might be the calamari had a little too much breading. The service was prompt.

Expensive drinks as you would expect in a hotel but the food is good and reasonably priced. Rustic bar with good service. Full of people staying at hotel, friendly vibe.

Just finished dinner. Food was good, as expected flavor wise, but a bit cold.Never got water refills, never got checked on after our food was delivered, had to ask for the check because we were left alone so long. Felt unattended. So all in all- good food, bad service- at least tonight.

The food was delicious however the service needs attention. Our server did not attend to us after being seated. We had to reach out for a server. We had to ask for more water. You may have been short handed Sunday evening.

Great place for a happy hour visit. Awesome food items at a great price--and plenty of good for each item. The tacos were huge! The meatballs were plentiful and great flavor. The dip was awesome. The fries were great as well. The server was very nice and attentive. It's kinda noisy place but it isn't really large so it I'd probably expected. This is our 3rd time. So must be good!

Good food and a decent "DC" price. Had supper there twice ... salad and chicken sandwich. Service wait time was normal but wait staff was great.

Went the 1st night and had a decent cup of chowder with a mediocre wedge salad. The drinks were ok but obviously bar liquor. Went the second night to get a burger and beer. We were seated by the hostess and given menus and no one came by to ask for an order or tell us it would be a few minutes. We left.
