Came here for an event and everyone was so friendly! The staff were super helpful and asked us what we normally drink and have great recommendations. They explained the cocktails and had suggestions without us needing to look at the menu. We were indoors because it was freezing outside, but I know the patio can be lovely in the nicer times. The inside is cute and decorated well, you feel welcome here and get a good view. Plenty of tables, tall bar tables, and a bar to sit at if you want to chat with the staffThe kitchen cranks out food so quickly. The pizza seemed to be Detroit style so be ready. The fries you can't go wrong with. Skinny and perfectly fried. The pickles are chips not wedges and a good breading to pickle ratio even if prefer wedges. Make sure to get the dips too, they balance out the wine so well. I got a dry sparking champagne and it was actually dry. Too many times places try to pass a Prosecco or cava and it is too sweet. This one was exactly what I was looking for. I would expect nothing less than the people from Maxwell for a fantastic bar.

I really enjoy the food here! It was one of the few places in DC where I found a decent gluten free pizza. If it was nice enough out, I would come in for the wine and pizza pairing and it was just a nice place to have a quick solo dinner.

I came here for an event recently and I liked the vibe and service, but the food left much to be desired. I tried the plain Detroit-style cheese pizza and the pickle spears and hummus and both were disappointing. The hummus was sour, the pickle spears were way too salty, and the pizza was too salty to finish. The drinks looked good and reasonably priced-I would go back for drinks.

I was really excited to go here after our show at the 930 club. The outdoor space was super cute. Our first round of drinks were mediocre. My friends both got the smoked old fashion and they both said that it was over syrupped and sweet but at the same time bitter. I enjoyed my spring fling vodka soda. The truffle fries were DELISH and the hot honey pepperoni Detroit style pizza was fine, but $14 for a mini pan pizza seems excessive. I ordered the espresso tonic for my second drink and unfortunately it tasted like the bitter ends of the coffee dregs mixed with tonic. When I told the bartender that the drink was really undrinkable he said "well that's rude. If I put a bunch of sugar syrup in it you'd like it." I replied "if you have to add a bunch of sugar syrup to your drinks then they still aren't good to begin with and they should be good without sugar syrup unless that's in the initial recipe." He didn't ask me to make another drink but he did take it off my tab.

Pop Fizz Bar was OK. Some good, some bad.I visited on a Thursday evening for happy hour at ~6:30 PM. Their happy hour is "$20 Combos Pizza & Bubbles" which lets you select one of three pizzas and one of three pairings for $20. We got the Pepperoni Hot Honey pizza (normally $16) and Brazilier, Pineau d'Anius Rose (normally $12 for 5 oz) so we saved $8 over buying a la carte. Pizza is Detroit style and is basically a personal pizza size (they said it was 6" x 6" which seemed accurate) with four pieces. We also got a daiquiri ($10). We waited a long time for the pizza; the kitchen seemed slow. It tasted pretty good, but mostly of cheese -- I didn't get much sauce, pepperoni flavor, and definitely no hot honey flavor. The wine was fine but it was actually a non-sparkling rose, which wasn't what we expected when the happy hour is specifically "pizza & bubbles." The daiquiri was not very good; it was extremely lemon flavored and reminded me of lemonade, which isn't what I want or expect in daiquiri. The place is upscale casual. It's a cute space, with an L-shaped bar, some indoor tables, and a covered patio. The weather was nice, and they opened the entire front wall onto the patio, which made the space feel light and breezy. The other food on the menu sounded good and looked good on the plates we saw go by. They have a large beer can menu, but at $8-$12 it's priced too high for me. I probably would have ordered one if the prices were more reasonable, especially if they had some happy hour options. Cocktails are mostly $13, and wines $12-15.They don't have paper menus, so we had to use the menus from the website on our phone. I don't mind this if the restaurant has mobile ordering, a nice mobile-friendly menu format, and wifi. Well, they don't have any of those things. It was super annoying to squint at the PDF menu on their website, which is formatted to be printed.Service was friendly enough.I prefer beer and cocktails over wine, so I'm not their main audience. They didn't give me a compelling reason to go back.

This is the cutest wine bar nestled in the U-Street / Shaw neighborhood. Its a laid back chill vibe. But what is underrated and not talk about is the deep dish pizzas. Listen!!!!! Run and get it immediately. The crab pizza is AMAZING. BBQ Chicken is another winner.
