I'm going on probably three food events now where I always end up "trying" Pinch Dumplings. They really never disappoint and always leave me wanting another.I've tried all three standard (steamed) dumpling flavors: the pork and cabbage, beef and onion, and cabbage and carrots, and really like all three. My personal favorite is the cabbage and carrot because it feels lighter and generally more fresh because of all of the vegetables (and I like to imagine I'm somewhat healthy). However, I don't think you can go wrong any of them. They're cooked and stuffed perfectly - just the right amount of filling - and topped with a sort of sweet sauce (maybe made with teriyaki and soy sauce, but I still haven't nailed down what all is in it).The prices are good and the service has always been great. Definitely try this place if you're looking for just generally good dumplings, or if you've never had them before and want a solid place to try them.

I love Pinch Dumplings. I typically get them at the Dupont Circle Farmers Market. I've tried a variety of flavors, and my favorite is the standard pork and cabbage. I had a vegetable version recently that was super flavorful as well. I prefer the fried version and I like the dipping sauce. The fact that you can mix and match flavors is much appreciated.

They're back at City Center Farmer's Market! Tasty dumpling options. Varieties include chicken, pork, beef and veg options. Daikon salad/mango sticky rice available for an extra $3. Fried or steamed. Yum! Go early - this place is popular!

If there is one fact that you need to know about me, is that I love dumplings of all kinds. There is something magical about a perfect pocket of delicate dough stuffed to the brim with juicy delicious filling. While it sounds simple enough, I've actually had my fair share of less than yummy dumplings.I ran into Pinch at the City Center Farmer's Market and I knew that I had to give them a try. They were serving an assortment of vegan and meat dumplings. Being the carnivore that I am, I got their two meat options: chicken and asparagus and beef. Both came with a dumpling dipping sauce and an Asian slaw ($1 extra). While fried dumplings are always infinitely 100% better, I chose to get the steamed option in an attempt to be healthy. My freshly steamed hot dumplings were ready in less than five minutes and I excitedly split it with my husband. The quality in their product is evident: they hand roll their dough, grind their filling using local and organic ingredients, and pinch their dumplings daily. When eaten with their vinegary Asian slaw on top, it is a delicious combination.$19 for two orders is a bit pricey but to find quality, delicious dumplings it is worth the price!

Dumplings were yummy but overpriced. Staff was indifferent and forgot both gloves and aprons, making the floury handprints on the clothing look unsanitary. Not sure I'd go back.

I had pinch dumplings at the DuPont farmers market. I tried the beef and onions one. Very delicious! I hope pinch opens a permanent location in DC, as of right now they are only at markets and have a permanent location in Baltimore.

Disappointed. I tried these from FreshFarm White House today and they were severely lacking. The dumplings were packaged in a cardboard material that obviously stuck to them since they're hot. I was eating paper and there dumplings were cold within 10 minutes. The apricot sticky rice was barely cooked, and was actually just regular rice with an apricot topping that was done after 2 bites. Not worth $12.

Decent dumplings, but definitely not worth the price 6 for $9. I added an additional side, sweet and spicy cabbage (it was ok), for $2, but all of this still wasn't remotely filling and wasn't worth it for an $11 meal. As another reviewer pointed out the steamed dumplings got stuck to the paper packaging and I had to peel the paper off the dumpling before I could eat it. I wouldn't return unless they offered more for the price and fixed the packaging issue.

I got to the Farmer's Market right after they opened, so fair enough. But they weren't at all ready to start serving, had to dig the dumplings out of the truck, took a long time to make them, and then dumped them into the cardboard box when still steaming hot so the cardboard stuck to them. Plus their credit card reader didn't work. So all in all, pretty mediocre on the food side and on the customer service side.
