You can see the fries are literally swimming in oil! We took a strainer and it measured 1/2 cup.

This restaurant has a fun sports bar atmosphere with a welcoming vibe. The combination of outdoor space, large bar and small tables makes it easy to find a spot. The menu has delicious scratch-made pasta, pizzas, wings, sandwiches, and more. My favorite orders have been the Detroit-style pizzas and fries. Happy hour is from 3-6 PM. Tuesday to Friday, with drink specials and some tasty bites. The service is fast and friendly.

My toddler asks for pizza nearly every single day, so after spending some time at the playground, I decided to take her across the street for pizza for dinner. The space is rather large which is great for families and large groups. They have high tops and regular tables. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The appetizers were good, but the pizza was just not up to par. My husband loves Detroit-style pizza so when he saw it on the menu, he had to try it. There was not enough sauce, the crust tasted like cardboard, and there was just nothing memorable about it. Piece Out needs to step up its game with Stracci Pizza and Jet's so close by.

First time at Piece Out Del Ray and as we often do, I went for a happy hour experience which is usually a good indicator of whether I would want to return for dinner or lunch.First impressions upon entering is that it seems to be a bit of a mixed or muddled concept. Definite pizza joint vibe at the front/bar area with nods to more of a fine dining experience on the perimeter tables. There is a back area which seems more set up for larger parties and a casual atmosphere with couches and a fair amount of open space, but it seems a little undeveloped. It really doesn't have a distinct identity or personality, but it is open and welcoming (which can be said for the overall vibe).Prompt bar service by a bartender who was definitely multi-tasking, but he really kept it cool, professional, and poised, while greeting customers, making cocktails, taking orders, serving beers, wine, and more.I had a terrific montepulciano and a very well made old fashioned. I also ordered a couple of apps. I selected the house made Focaccia, which has a very tasty garlic whipped ricotta as an accompaniment, and, the "Polenta Fries" which is crispy fried polenta "fries" served with pesto aioli and lemon garlic aioli dipping sauces, topped with grated pecorino romano. What a good idea this was! Very light breading, cripsy/crunchy texture to the outside and warm, rich polenta filling. I favored the lemon garlic sauce...it provided a little extra zest and depth flavorwise. We saw pizzas coming out to other diners, both the "Detroit style" thick square version, plus a thinner crust. The thinner crust pizza looked decent but the Detroit looked a bit underwhelming...the crust looked spongy rather than crunchy but since I did not have either, I can't really speak to the quality of either pie with any authority.4.5 stars based on my admittedly limited experience. I would return and will update when I do.

We went as a group of five for lunch and had a positive experience. It's a newer restaurant and the insides is very spacious with large TVs for sports watching and booth seats. We got a Breakfast Veggie Pizza, Americana, and "Piece Out!" pizzas. Overall they were delicious but didn't necessarily blew us away, especially compared to other nearby pizzerias.

Just okay overall, menu, food, decor, service. Okay bar to watch a game. Pizza just okay, thin crust, no char, and just looks and tastes like a frozen pizza. There are lots of great NY pizza in the DC area; this is not close to them. The back room is downright depressing.

Stopped by this place after work on Friday. A group of 4 of us was immediately greeted and seated by the staff. The drinks were amazing and the pizza was so good. Happy hour was great and we can't wait to come back.

Love the new renovation. The pizza is better than I remember it, although I haven't tried it carry out. Great drink program, and an awesome spot to sit at the bar or head to watch the game. Tons of veggie and gf options. They could do with some more staff when busy.

One of the best pizzas i have ever had! The Detroit style was nice and crispy and so so good. I should've ordered a whole pie to go. Ny style was tasty but Detroit outshined it. The bartender and server were super nice and made sure the drinks kept coming. Will for sure come back! 5/5

Portions are enormous and a good value. Chicken basket had 5-6 perfectly fried pieces. Pizza is a bit undercooked with a floppy middle. Staff is attentive. Good value.
