Charging additional fees of 4 75% for take out orders (listed as a packaging fee) and 12% for dine-in in addition to gratuity! Out-freaking-ragous! How apauling The price gouging continues. Resturaunts charging addition fees to their customers to offset employee pay is nothing new, but that doesn't mean it should be accepted. Although I have enjoyed their products, my values are not in alignment any longer. As if being charged $12 for a dozen eggs wasn't bad enough. Food for thought. "Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God" was a motto on Jefferson's personal seal.

Toast Tab says pick up at 5:55. Still waiting 35+ minutes later with a large crowd of hungry people also waiting way too long. Do better Pete!

Terrible experience in every way. They contract with a third-party ordering and delivery service that never delivered our order. When I called to correct the problem, the staff was rude and refused to take any action to fix the situation until I pressed them several times. Only after that did the manager place me on hold to speak with the third-party delivery service, but then the manager hung up on me while I was on hold. After I called them back, the manager continued to be rude to me but at least informed me that I would be issued a refund. Two hours later and I have no pizza but had to sit through a phone lecture about why it wasn't their fault. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

Staying with my sister, she said this was a local favorite in Friendship Heights, so we ordered three pizzas for pickup on a Saturday night. I got the Merritt Parkway, with prosciutto, caramelized onions, Kalamata olives, EVOO, and basil. The 14" was $19 and enough to feed two people. The Staven was great too, with hot sausage, pepperoni, roasted garlic, hot cherry peppers, and cartelized onions. I'm not exactly sure what "New Haven style" pizza is but Pete's APizza makes thin crust pizza that has a great crispiness to it. They have so many interesting flavor combinations and I would definitely order from them again the next time I'm in town.

Came here during a lunch break. The decor is a cute quaint pizza parlor. Ordered wings, salad and pizza. I was excited but quickly let down. I picked up my order and walked to the office across the street and the food was cold this is where it started. The wings were dry and the chicken over cooked they were inedible. The pizza was soggy and I wanted more spice in the flavor profile. The house salad was easily the best item eaten. Overall there are better spots for pizza and wings to check out.

My family and I recently visited Pete's while we were on a short vacation in DC. My wife and I previously visited the Clarendon location in 2018 (before it closed a year later). One thing we love is that all of the specialty pies have names that reference things in New Haven, such as "Long Wharf", "The Coliseum", "Q Bridge", etc. After looking over the menu, my wife and I ordered and shared the "Tomato Pie" (tomato sauce, pecorino cheese, olive oil, garlic, oregano) and "The East Rock" (white pizza, ricotta, mozzarella, fontina, pecorino romano, extra virgin olive oil). Not quite as good as the real thing, but still a VERY good pizza. Crust was nice and crisp, the way we like it. We also ordered an "Original Cheese with Pepperoni" pizza for our older son and the "Kids Spaghetti and Tomato Sauce" for our younger son. It was nice to have a taste of home when we were so far away. We look forward to returning on future trips to DC!

I love the Coliseum pizza at Pete's and drive to the DC location from Fairfax. Delicious pizza every time. I'm a vegetarian and I love that they have so many different flavors and options. I do however think that their prices are a bit crazy and that is why I'm giving them 4 stars. We are a family of six and when I get two pizzas to go, (one large Coliseum and one medium cheese) it's at least $65, sooooo, it's not something we eat as often as we would like since other pizza places charge me half of that, if not more than half for two large pizzas and drinks. Other than the price, I love the deliciousness.

Truly Great Pizza, and best pizza by the slice, of you dine in. I was new to D.C., but have been around the world and nation (Santa Barbara and Napa Valley still the best; I did not realize how culinarily spoiled I'd been while there). Having said that, there are a few areas where this region dominates: Pizza, Gyros, BBQ. They are ubiquitous and proprietors have had time and competition to perfect their versions. I love Pete's. What makes their pizza special? I tried out a sausage and mushroom slice. The crust texture was crisp and airy yet chewy. Cheese was piping hot and melting into the crust. Sauce is a bit mild but nice. The one time you want your food "oozy" is the melted cheese on your pizza. I was told that Pete's uses a brick oven that heats to 600F. The reheat instructions are to do so in a pan on your stovetop, NOT in your oven. That way, the crust will reheat most similarly to how it is fresh in the restaurant. Good to know, as otherwise, having it cold or reheated wrong will not render the textures that makes this pizza so inhale-able.Not usually a sausage pizza person, but that sausage mushroom slice is seriously delicious. My sister LOVED the New Haven (white sauce with clams) slice. If you love seafood, the clams are large bites and fresh tasting. Pete's has delicious craft sodas (including cherry and cream); yummy looking desserts (including craft ice creams and cannolis). They have gluten-free crust. A true variety of gourmet toppings (calabrese salami, for example). We tasted and appreciated the arancini ( it changes, but we tried the goat cheese and caramelized onion, with pumpkin sauce). The lunch specials are nice. Pizza By The Slice varies in price, depending on which of 6 types you select; but it is comparable pricewise fir the area. Casual cozy atmosphere, responsive, positive staff. If you are wishing for artesanal toppings and a great crust, Pete's is your place. They use quality ingredients, and your gourmet palate will find a pizza with toppings to fit your craving.

as someone from New Haven, I was thrilled to try this place! I thought it was pretty good pizza, but not new haven style. It was definitely better than other places in the dc area, but as someone from the area, this was not new haven style to me, there were no char marks, no coal fired oven, no crispy charred bottom, and i think the mushrooms were not fresh. It is a decent attempt, and it's still a good pizza, just not new haven style like something you would get from sally's or pepe's. The name is a bit misleading.
