Great spot to watch sports or pre-game for an event at Capital One Arena. We got downtown early for a hockey game and wanted to watch NFL playoffs before the game. We parked in a garage about a block from the Arena and this bar was about 2 blocks away. It was packed but we found a table for 4. They had TVs setup everyone and the atmosphere was great! The food was really good (I highly recommend the cheese curds). This place is pricey - but that's pretty typical for DC. The restrooms are located upstairs and there's a second bar up there, too. The whole place isn't super huge so get there early! We'll definitely be back.

5 stars all around for the service that Kareem (spelling? Sorry if I didn't get it right) provided. He was fabulous, making great recommendations, quick, serviceable and friendly. My friends and I were passing by, we were tired and hungry and didn't want to look for a food spot and decided to give this place a try. The vibes looked great, even better if you like sports and catch a game in the many TV's they have. We got lucky that it was packed indoors but we were seated outside without waiting. The night was perfect where it was not too hot or cold and it was pleasant to sit outdoors. I ordered the PQST cheeseburger, but there was an additional fee to add cheese to the burger ($1.50). Also extra to add fries to the order ($5.99). My friends got the bold rock cider, mahi-mahi wrap and the grilled salmon salad. They enjoyed their food but said that it was not exactly the best meal they have ever had.My burger was okay, nothing to rave about especially since I don't know if it was worth the price exactly.Bathrooms were on the second floor, they were clean.Beware that there is a DC min wage act added fee of 6% to all guest checks. Plus a 3% fee is added if you use a credit card....what?I'm not from the area, but if I do come and visit the DC area again, I know I will be checking out other food establishments instead.

Highly disappointed by my experience. Though it has a good sports vibe, the food was extremely overpriced. 21.57 and tip for a salad which was of low quality. This was INCLUDING the mandatory 6% increase... this is crazy. A fair price for this is like $6-7 which you can get in FAST FOOD and it tastes WAY better too. The chicken was lightly fried and put into buffalo sauce, which was ok. But the salad with blue cheese was extremely generic. Like something you got out of a salad bag and a blue cheese packet. I can't believe they would charge such a ridiculous amount for this salad.Everything else on the menu was extremely overpriced too.Beer prices looked OK which was the saving point for this.

This is my 2nd visit, i normally just stop by if im ever in the area, they have great menu options for a quick meetup with friends, family, or even just to chill and see a game this place is always pretty busy. The service is always friendly, focused and fast I was satisfied with how quickly everything came out. The do have indoor/outdoor seating along with a 2nd floor bar as well, they can get pretty packed! So head over on happy hour one day and check out their vibe

For a sport tavern in the tourist district, I was pleasantly surprised at the Penn Quarter Sports tavern. The place was slam-packed on a busy Sunday, but everyone was extremely friendly and the food was fast and fresh. We sat at the bar and started with margaritas which was a great choice. The spicy marg was definitely strong and had the spicy kick we were looking forward to having. For a sports tavern, the guacamole was excellent and had no business being as solid as it was. I would have loved if the chips came out warm, but they were good as is. The rest of the food was as expected, nothing exceptional, but perfect for the price and location.

Great place to watch sports. We visited Penn Quarter Sports Tavern on a Saturday afternoon, and it gradually filled up prior to the Ravens game. There are two floors to the bar with an outdoor area as well. Televisions surround the dining area on the first floor, and there are ample televisions on the first floor as well as a few outside. There are even televisions in the bathrooms! I ordered the apple cider hot toddy to drink and the cheese curds as a snack. The hot toddy was watery and bland. The cheese curds were some of the best that I have ever tried and were paired with phenomenal dipping sauce. Overall, I would recommend Penn Quarter Sports Tavern for the sports watching environment and cheese curds but not for the cocktails.

Dropped in for a drink after a visit to the Archives. Had the frozen margarita. A great drink. The flavors never got watered down. The sangria was refreshing as well. The best thing was the cheese curds. Fluffly cheese in a light crunchy batter coating. One of the best curds we've had. Plus a nice portion size. Nice and close to the Archives Metro.

In town for a vacation. Popped in on a Tuesday during lunch - found a table and sat down. Waiter came over fairly quickly to provide water and menus. I ordered a smash type burger and my partner ordered a burger with an egg. I had a cocktail and he had a coke. The cocktail blackberry vanilla martini came with a sugar rim and was way too sweet. The sugar was an unadvertised add to the drink. The waiter did not check in on the quality of the drink. Our food arrived and I asked that person to give me a glass full of ice. I poured the drink over ice and waited. Eventually, it turned from a 1 to a 3. The burgers were both hits. They don't provide condiments automatically so you have to ask for them. The fries were piping hot and great.

I work nearby and on Friday's I crave buffalo wings. While I'd rather be enjoying this wings with a beer at a happy hour, i had work to do, so i placed the order to go. Ordering/pick up process: smooth. It was easy to order online. The food was ready at the time they said it would. It was easy to grab my food once I got there. Served and bartender i i redacted with were friendly 10/10Food: I ordered a half order of buffalo wings (7 wings) crispy, and an order of fries. I also asked for both ranch and blue cheese because I like both. While I was walking with my food back to work, i could smell the buffalo sauce, so it seemed promising that the food was going to be good. Unfortunately, that was not the case. At first glance, the wings were not "crispy" they were a tad slimy looking. Also, there was not much sauce on the wings which was surprising because they smelled so good. The meat was very chewy, to the point that i could swallow some bites, and had to spit in a napkin. The fries were decent. The ranch was good. The blue cheese tasted like the mayo had gone bad so I just stuck to the ranch. After picking through a few wings and eating about half of the fries, i threw everything else away. 3/10Value: I paid $22 for wings and a side of fries. The wings were $13 for 7 wings. That's almost $2 per wing. I do not think the value was worth the food i received unfortunately. On a brighter note, i didn't have to pay an additional fee for the sauces i requested. 5/10 Overall: when calculating my score, food is getting scored twice because the order was a to go order and i can't rate my experience in the establishment. I've eaten here years before and I remember the food being fine, so this experience was pretty disappointing. I'd give it another try, and order something else if I'm with people who want to eat here, but other than that, I probably won't be back. 5/10 (rounding up for my Yelp rating)

Looking for a good Sports bar in the area and stumbled upon Penn Quarter. I was shocked to see how much outdoor seating they had. We decided to sit inside because it was cold out though. The inside was impressive with the walls lined with TVs with no spaces in between. For a local sporting event, this bar could be incredibly fun to watch a game at. It also had bar seating too if you didn't want to sit at a table. The menu had a ton of different options. I was in the mood for a burger and ordered the Smash'd burger. When it arrived I was a bit surprised that it wasn't smashed at all and it looked like a normal burger patty. It left me pretty disappointed because I wasn't even asked how I wanted my burger so I assumed it was going to be a pressed smash burger. Sides were al a carte so that was also an extra charge but they tasted great though. If I got the burger that I was expecting, I would've rated it higher, regardless of how this burger tasted, it wasn't what I wanted at the time. I definitely want to stop by Penn Quarter again when I am in the area to give it another try and order something else on the menu. I especially would want to go during some football games.
