I've been looking for a "Chinese restaurant" comparable to the "fancy one" in "Culmore" for over 30 years now.. I finally found it, Peking Express of Vienna..The "Pork Fried Rice" was amazing and the Egg Roll was spot on... the prices are very reasonable and the employees are super friendly, I will be back!!

I thought I'd give this restaurant a go since I was in the area and knew this place had been here a long time, so I thought I'd stop for lunch. Big mistake. I ordered a kung Pao chicken lunch combo, food arrived quickly, but I was certainly not impressed by any of it, and I eat a lot of Asian food at some very highly respected and reviewed restaurants . For me the food missed the mark - I did not like the hot and sour soup, balance was off and it was missing the depth of flavor that is to be expected. Kung Pao chicken - just mediocre in every respect. Flavor was muddied like some places do with a generic "brown" sauce. So unfortunate, I'm honestly not sure how this place has been here so long. I don't anticipate giving this place another try.

QUICK lunch with my Dad to celebrate his courage and productivity today (Thurs., 8/15). We came here based on the recommendation of the vendor we just left. Older establishment in a quaint little plaza but clearly maintained adequately. Super friendly service. I am a HUGE Chinese food fanatic (my Dad, not so much). My shrimp egg foo young was pretty decent. They gave me 3 HUGE patties. I usually like my gravy a lot more brown but this "tasted like more". My Dad only orders General Tso's chicken *yawn* and he said he enjoyed it. We are grateful for the enormous lunch portions ... neither one of us will need to cook tonight and we'll still have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. If you're in the Vienna area ... check 'em out & tell them you saw it on Yelp.

Been going here for years. My favorite is the Lo mein and fried rice. Fast and nice service. Small place. Limited parking, but that's everywhere in old town.

Good food and reasonable prices, as well as quick service. I ordered and left from Reston to go pick it up. I'm sure it was ready before I got into the car, but looking for good Chinese food on Christmas Eve! This restaurant was highly recommended, and I see why. The food is good, tasty, and filling, and unlike other Chinese restaurants, I was full for a long while. Nothing good like this in Reston or closer than coming over to Vienna! I'll be back, and I am looking forward to it. We had a variety of dishes. Hot & sour soup, egg drop soup, wonton soup, chicken corn soup, egg rolls. We had curry fried rice, pepper steak, chicken with eggplant in garlic sauce, shrimp with vegetables, and triple delight. All were good, and the eggplant especially was very tasty. Highly recommend checking this place out. As I said, I'll be back.

This restaurant has been here forever so we decided to try it for takeout one night. One of the combos ordered had the wrong main dish. The hot sour soup..I've never seen it that light in color and lacking in substance in the soup. The spring roll that came with the combo was not only not crispy, but cold - had been sitting there clearly. Last but not least, the "fried chicken dumplings" are literally the Ling Ling dumplings Costco sells. Don't get me wrong, we like those and have a couple bags in our freezer, but have never seen a restaurant try to sell them and pass them off as their own. Even the dumpling sauce was the Ling Ling sauce watered down. Definitely will not be back.

Update: I return here every week. Their kung pao has become a staple of my diet. It's consistently delicious and the portion size is generous! Honestly I want to try something else but this one is so solid and dependable I can never bring myself to. I'll update if and when I do!

We've been using Peking Express in Vienna since moving here in 2009. If I had to guess, we've ordered takeout from this restaurant over 100 times and have rarely had anything bad to say about any of the dishes. Sure, in the rare occasion I can remember one of the dishes may not have been perfect, but the vast majority have been tasty filling meals. For the price, we get a lot of food. A typical order we make is around $40 with tip and for two adults, provides enough food for two or three meals. The leftovers are just as tasty when they first arrived. We have so many favorites. Beef and broccoli. Crispy beef. Hot and sour soup. Shrimp fried rice. Triple delight. The appetizer plate. Sweet and sour chicken. We love it all. We usually order delivery and it rarely takes more than 25 minutes to arrive. We love Peking Express. A fabulous local Vienna institution.
