Stopped by for brunch and the food is amazing! The servers and bartenders are very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They have a very relaxed atmosphere. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Really nice place. We went on a quiet Wednesday evening. Great atmosphere. It felt like the perfect spot for a friendly after hours meeting with a friend, date, or coworkers. Very chill and laid back.We started off with the chips and sauce trio. They were good; basic. When compared to other places (e.g. Bar Taco) with a similar offering, the sauces could have been a little richer in flavor. The bowls they were served in also could have been larger. They were also light on chips. But they were good. (I've just had better). I note this in particular because so many of my friends that I've spoken to judge many Mexican restaurants by the quality of the chips and dip/salsa/queso. I'd step it up on this one. IT WASN'T BAD, but it could work a little harder. But that's where the harsher part of my critique stops. Everything after was great. We also ordered the following from the small plates and the taco selection, all of which were excellent:- Crab Tostada - large, flavorful, delicious. There's a slight peppering of cayenne pepper that makes for a really interesting finish to every bite. The red onion offered a nice sharp contrast to the smooth flavor of the crab which was fresh and delicious. This thing was smooth and spicy at the same time. The tostada was larger than expected (which was good). If I lived in the neighborhood I'd be stopping by at least once every other week or two to get one.- Ceviche Acapulco - again, larger than expected (good), and flavorful. The slightly sour flavor of the vinegar (in a good way, not sour bad) was a great contract to the Tostada's fresh and spicy flavor.- El Camaron tacos - finely seasoned. The flavor of the shrimp is primary to the additional layors of flavor. Nice and light.- El Barracho tacos - Excellent. Just excellent. Really rich in flavor. The El Camaron taco was very good, but the El Barracho taco was even better. Our server Maria was excellent. Very pleasant and attentive. We didn't have any drinks, so I don't have a commentary for you there, but you can see from the pics that they have a well stocked bar.

I will start this by saying we were starving and I forgot to take pictures of everything we had (I know not great,I'm sorry). And the pictures I did get I will say not my best because they definitely don't do justice to the food! The tacos were delicious. The fish was my personal fav. It had a nice spicy to it. But the absolute highlight are the curry mussels. I know a bit random for a taqueria but there is a reason that it is one of the most popular dishes. Our friend also loves loves loves the tres leche. I tried a bite and it was so light and fluffy. If you are around the Eastern market area, stop in and give it a try!

If you love mussels, Paraiso is the place to be! My partner and I love their Curry Mussels with blue cornbread. We always find ourselves here just for that. I love their brunch here and don't sleep on the french toast (another amazing item on the menu). The ambiance is very artsy and I love the interior. Again, you just order the mussels and you can thank me later!

First spot I visited for DC's Restaurant Week, Winter 2025~They offer a $55 Restaurant Week Menu, here's what I got:Mejillones En Curry - Comes with Blue Cornbread, which was really unique and delicious. The mussels themselves were good, came in a spicy coconut curry sauce which reminded me of Thai Red Curry.Branzino A La Brasa - Tender Fish, comes with a tasty Pepita (Pumpkin Seed) SauceTorre De Chocolates - Delicious Chocolate Mousse to finish the dinner. Really nice and creamy, but light! Also pictured, my friend's Main Entrée:Short RibOverall the food is tasty and there's some good flavors going on! A bit pricey for a Restaurant Week Deal, and the portions aren't that large, but it's not bad at all~ More of a modernized take on using Mexican ingredients, nice little Navy Yard spot in DC.

Came to Paraiso for winter restaurant week and thoroughly enjoyed my time! The atmosphere is inviting, colorful, and had great service. I started with the Guava Aqua drink which was sweet and refreshing. As appetizers we split the Mejillones en curry, guacamole, and ensalada paraíso. My favorite was definitely the muscles in curry. It was so flavorful and unique. As an entree I ordered the Branzino a la brasa which was perfect!! Flavorful, cooked to perfect and a great portion. We ordered all three desserts and shared. My favorite was the torre de chocolates. The chocolate isn't overbearing and it was decadent!!I will definitely be back soon!

Paraiso Taqueria is a hidden gem that I recently visited for brunch with friends, and it truly exceeded my expectations. To my surprise, they offer bottomless mimosas with the purchase of an entrée, and the variety of flavors available made the experience even more enjoyable. The food at Paraiso Taqueria was outstanding. I ordered the mussels, which were smothered in a coconut curry sauce with just the right hint of spice. The flavors were absolutely amazing, and I would highly recommend this dish to anyone visiting. My friends also raved about their choices--one had the steak, and the other tried the waffles. Both were very impressed with the quality and flavor of their meals.Despite the surprisingly quiet atmosphere, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and friendly, which made the dining experience all the more pleasant. If you're looking for a brunch spot with great food, unique flavors, and excellent service, Paraiso Taqueria is a must-visit. Don't miss the mussels--they're a standout!

"Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness." - Auguste Escoffier. I'm always impressed with the food at Paraiso. The only thing that equals it is the service. Gabriel answered our questions and was meticulous as a server. I highly recommend this restaurant and maybe I'll see you here since I'll be back.
