Just discovered this gem and let me say it's delicious and priced great. I crave Korean food a lot and beef bulgogi is my fav and they cook it perfectly. My only change would be is to make the kimchi a little more spicy

Some of the best food truck eats in the DMV!....And, giving huge serving portions "ain't never hurt nobody!"After pondering over the usual lunch options, I decided go on a food truck excursion for lunch today. On any given day, just outside the office, there's always several food trucks making their rounds in the Arlington-Ballston area. Luckily for me, Over the Rice decided to show up!Over the Rice seems to have a cult following. As soon as they tweet their location for the day, you can bet there is a line of folks waiting to partake in their fare. This I know, because every time they are anywhere near my office building my coworkers run for the doors during lunch like a cow herd. And, I see why!The food is always fresh and the flavor is there. This is my fourth time visiting this truck and I can attest one thing for sure....the food and taste is consistent....actually, really good. You pick your choice of meat(s): Steak, Grilled Chicken, Lamb, Pork and there is a vegetarian option as well. Then, the assembly of a great meal begins. If you are indecisive like me, they offer a combo meat option which is usually my go to....Chicken n' Steak or....when in the mood to change things up....the Chicken n' Lamb! One word...its "HittinNStickin!" The meat is so tender, juicy...and most of all seasoned! It is served over rice (yellow basmati rice), of course and comes with a side salad and two quarter slices of pita bread. The food is more than enough to share...in my opinion. The finisher that makes the food a hit....is the Tzatziki sauce ANNNDDDDDD this spicy kind of sauce I can't seem to put my finger on it! But, whatever it is.....make sure you order extra of both!! lolTHE GOOD IN A NUTSHELL: Overall, you can't go wrong with this food truck! Fast friendly service, fresh tasting, flavorful food, good portions, and you don't get a sense of bad food handling practices like some food trucks or feel like you are going to need a pack of Tums to alleviate the bubble-guts...after consuming it. Nothing but a thumbs up experience and clean operation here.THE EIGHT BALL IN THE CORNER POCKET: The long lines are the only down side, but look at it this way...."good things come to those who wait"....besides, if there was no line then that may not be a good sign for sure! lol

If you judge a food truck by how long the line is, then you'll miss out on this one. They are not only delicious but extremely efficient. Before I could step away from the counter, my order was ready. Got the lamb over rice and was really impressed with the taste. I heeded the advice of my fellow yelpers and got a side of tzatziki sauce. It is very tasty and a little sweet. My advice- If you don't like any red sauce, don't say Mild. Mild = one squirt. And that one squirt is spicy. You have to stir it around with the extra tzatziki sauce that you definitely should get on the side.

This is by far the best foodtruck cuisine I've ever had. It comes through Rosslyn, VA a lot on North Lynn St so I get it probably a couple times a month. I usually go with the chicken + steak ($10) and then get the spice level as hot. I've also gotten the lamb with the normal spice level and it's also quite tasty. The meat is always cooked well along with the rice. The salad and cucumbers they mix into the container are great too. They manage to get a ton of flavors into their dishes and they definitely don't skimp you on portions either as I end up full and satisfied every time I get it.This was the single hardest part of giving up going out to lunch for lent this year. Two warnings: 1) If they are near you be prepared to wait in a line. They work quickly but there can often be a line between 10-20 minutes to get your food - worth it though. 2) If you get the extra hot spice level be prepared to cry because it is crazy hot. I tell myself not to get it but end up doing it every time. It's too good.

The popular NoVa food truck has put up a brick and mortar location in Crystal City. They are serving all of their regular menu items from within a cafe in an office building. As the name implies, your choice of protein (chicken, steak, lamb) is served over basmati rice with a side salad and their own tzatziki sauce. If you ask for spicy they'll top your meal in a delicious jalapeño based sauce which is only 2/5 on my made up spice scale. It's fairly cheap, under $10, and the portions are large enough for 2 meals. It's good to know I can get my lamb lunch fix and don't have to go chasing around the food truck.

Been stalking these jabronis for weeks on Twitter to plan my feast at their delicious sounding food truck in Balston and today I finally had my date with destiny. Expectations that are set so high are rarely met, but god damn this place did not fail to earn my business whenever they are around the block. The line was a little long but they churn out orders faster than you could imagine. There is only one reason this got 4 stars instead of 5 from me.... I should of got extra meat because holy shit was this was as close to heaven as Ive ever been. After my first bite into my Crispy Lamb Gyro Over Rice I knew I had made an unforgivable mistake not getting more. Crispy lamb gyro meat decorated my plate like crispy strings of delicious goodness. I got an extra side of spicy sauce which I should of paired with another tzatziki to drown my body with their fresh sauces. The fresh diced jalapenos were an excellent touch to the entire bowl.As I am writing this, I am wrestling with my own self control and conscious not to go back to the truck to order another bowl make sweet tender love to.

Ballston is currently on a roll with their food trucks! Inconveniently it's a holiday today, so there were only two trucks, when there are usually around 10. I hit up the very wildy wrapped Over the Rice truck. They have a simple menu of either meat over rice, or meat over salad. Simple, right? I went with the lamb over rice. They've got a spinning gyro meat broiler in that truck! The meal comes with a bed of rice, freshly shaved and very juicy lamb pieces, and a side of salad topped by a couple triangles of pita in the rectangular to go container. Salad was crisp, tomatoes were juicy. They were covered in a white maybe yogurt style sauce. The lamb was well spiced and I got a little spicy sauce on it. No complaints, another great food truck vying for the affection of Ballston.

YUMMMM! This has to be one of my favorite food trucks that I have recently tried! If you're looking for something delicious, satisfying, and a bang for your buck, Over the Rice has it!I ordered the popular item, Lamb Over Rice. The bowl is a mixture of yellow basmati rice, a small salad in tzatziki dressing, two slices of pita, and your choice of protein. You also have the choice of choosing your level of spiciness. From zero to SPICY! I went with the normal spice, because I'm not as adventurous as I like to appear with my spice. After ordering, the wait is just under 5 minutes on a busy workday. Hands down, the dish is delicious! It tastes fresh, and not like it's out of a food truck. The prices are fair for the area and for the amount of food you receive. The service is quick and very friendly! Overall, I can't wait to order from Over The Rice again!

A bowl of sunshine and happiness - that is what you get when you order the lamb at Over the Rice. Let me elaborate: the bowl starts with a bed of yellow, sticky (but definitely not mushy) basmati rice. On top of the rice are pieces of perfectly crispy, deliciously seasoned (but not too seasoned) gyro lamb. A small side salad and two pitas are thrown in for good measure, and are topped off with tzatziki sauce and a light hot sauce (the levels of spiciness range from none to extra hot; I wasn't feeling very adventurous so I went with mild, which still packed a little heat). Hands down the best meal I've had out of a food truck. A few other things that Over the Rice does well: 1) generous portions; 2) reasonable prices ($9 for all that food is pretty decent for Arlington); 3) efficient line management; and 4) a good-looking truck.

There was a bit of a line but it moved fast. Even on a rainy day this food truck is super popular.Food was excellent, I got the lamb over rice, normal spice, with extra meat. Comes with yellow Spanish rice and side salad. I was full for the rest of the day! Next time I want to try it spice level hot.
