New favorite Italian restaurant in DC! This restaurant has a fresh mozzarella bar and divine food. Highly recommend sharing a bottle of wine plus at least one cocktail with this meal. Favorite dishes were the arancini and Orecchiett. Gordon's Cup (malfy gin, cucumber, lime & salt) Arancini (alla Bolognese) Burrata & Bacon (marinated escarole & caramelized shallots) Little Gem Lettuce (green goddess & candied pepitas) Orecchiette (fennel sausage & Swiss chard) Tagliatelle (Bolognese) Rigatoni (alla carbonara) Charred Broccolini (garlic & lemon-mustard vinaigrette)

Really enjoyed this place for brunch! It's a little unconventional for brunch, but everything we tried was really good.First of all, the interior is beautiful and they did an incredible job at renovating the space. There's an indoor area and a closed patio area, which is my favorite part of the restaurant! It has lush plants and palm trees and is so nice, especially in the dreary winter. For food, we got the carbonara pizza which was awesome, the cinnamon roll, and my husband got the poached egg crostone, which had the most perfect poached eggs! My friend got the Caesar salad and it had a really unique composition and he said it was great. My other friend got the waffles and loved them too! I wouldn't say any of the food was totally out of this world, but it was solid!I would love to come back and try this place for dinner, as I've heard awesome things about the pasta.

As a Philadelphia native who spends a lot of time in DC these days, I eagerly awaited seeing Steven Starr's vision for the old Dean and Deluca, especially in collaboration with Nancy Silverton. It lives up to the hype. The space is stunning. It's lively, energetic, a little loud, and beautiful from the windows, to the floor, to the back of the bar area, to the impressive opening on the back wall to see the giant operation that is their kitchen firing in sync. Even the bathrooms are pretty. And the food matches the environment. We started with their cheesy take on focaccia. That's as close to a must order as I can think of anywhere. The raviolo with browned butter and burnt sage was also delicious, with a perfect runny egg, and Lucious ricotta inside. Then I had the Chicken Alla Diavola, which might be the best chicken dish I've ever gotten. Fair warning, though, they give you twice as much chicken as it would take to feed a hungry giant, so if you're the type who feels obliged to leave a clean plate, you might consider something else. Finally, we finished it off with bombilini in a huckleberry sauce with a Meyer lemon mascarpone, which was a thoughtful dessert that played nicely on the tongue. The huckleberry sauce had a nice tartness to it, while interestingly the lemon mascarpone was minimally tart, which throws your tongue/brain for an interesting loop when you put them together in the same bite. Our service was good, too. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful. And, they have a cool thing going on where the servers are actually casually dressed but all wear white shirts that echo the white of the chefs in the back, so when you survey the room, it has the look of an army of uniformed staff moving in sync to establish a high end, formal, fine dining kind of backdrop, but then when your server is table side, you see it as a laid back outfit establishing a fun, friendlier vibe. The one warning I'd give is that it's a place where you might want to go in with a strategy of how you're going to order. The menu offers a lot of variety, and if you order carefully, you can tailor it to the experience you're looking to have. But, with separate categories for focaccia, mozzarella bar, antipasti, primi, and secondi (plus desserts, different drink courses, etc.), it can be overwhelming. And among those, there are small plates, normal plates, and bigger probably shareable plates, and items range from $8 to $175. While it's certainly not a cheap restaurant, we got plenty of food for an amount that was comparable to (and not at the highest end) of comparable places in the area, and one could get a great meal there for less than we paid. But, with so many sections, some might be tempted to order way too much, or one looking to eat there for less could probably make the opposite error, so I'd recommend going in with an idea of how you want to order. Overall, it was a really fantastic restaurant experience.

I've been to the LA location a few times and was excited when I saw it had opened in Georgetown. It's in such a great location too, next to everything Georgetown. Super cute place. Note, you have to walk towards the back to check in for the restaurant. I made a reservation for 5:45pm (That was all that was available) and arrived early to ask if I could be seated earlier. The hostess area is a bit chaotic. Not the best interaction with them, but I'll leave it at that. Overall service was good. Our party of two was seated in the patio area near their party or "group" dining room. We started with the Mozza Caprese and an order of Fett'Unta to go along with it. Both super tasty. Next, we shared the Grilled Octopus and Half Duck Confit. Loved our items we ordered. We all know parking is terrible in the area. Driving into the area is not recommended, but if you must there's a public parking garage on Wisconsin and M.

Came here twice with different parties. Amazing service both times and the interior is spacious! We got to try a lot of different things, but some of my favorites: - focaccia with prosciutto - thin gooey layer of cheese on thin, crusty bread! soooo good. Its like a flat pizza - all pastas were deliciously al dente. rigatoni and orecchiette were my personal favs. imo they are a bit on the heavy/salty side so i woudnt want it as my only main dish but the portions are small enough that it can be a shareable app- gem salad and caesar are both really good. I do wish the caesar they had an option for a full portion of the salad without the egg/anchovy bread- dry aged porterhouse - incredibly tender, and you can taste the dry aged funkiness which i love! tons of leftovers and they even pack the bone so you can gnaw on it at home haha - DESSERTS! the tiramisu is insanely creamy and moist. I also love the meyer lemon gelato pie, the creme fraiche adds a layer of milky richness to the tart lemon that is soooo addicting will definitely be back :)

Nothing says a perfect Valentine's Dinner like a full course experience at Osteria Mozza. We found ourselves fortunate enough to be seated in the covered outdoor section, able to enjoy the warmth of the heaters with the comfort of open windows. Despite the business of the night our servers were incredibly attentive, and neither of our glasses had a chance to fully empty before someone would stop by. The food was excellent of course, and while it's hard to pick a favorite when each dish compliments the other I found myself wishing for even one more bite of the lovely Raviolo. Covered in a brown butter sauce, the plump freshly made pasta was perfection. I know my partner was quite fond of the Fett'unta which served as an excellent addition to every dish, helping to mop up sauces perfectly. The whole Branzino was cooked perfectly with the kitchen actually working to remove every bone prior to it hitting our table. The spaghetti made me think of my own mother's cooking which is the highest praise I can give such an Italian dish. I feel the need to return just to try other options from the mozzarella bar. To top it all off the butterscotch budino left our tastebuds dancing and our stomachs full. Excited to return as soon as I can!

The old Dean and Deluca location in Georgetown has been reimagine into a great Italian restaurant. I was amazed at the new look.We had a great time and the server was very friendly and helpful. I had the gluten-free carbonara dish and it was just okay. But the stuffed sweet potatoes were amazing. The rest of our party had the regular gluten pasta and loved it.

My friend and I came on Saturday -- I recommend getting reservations a few weeks out. It's a lovely place! It has a little market in front before you get to a circular bar. We were seated in the wing of the restaurant with high ceilings and beautiful windows. Let's get down to business:For drinks: Espresso martini: so silky smooth and my friend got an old fashioned: also incredibly smooth and tasty. For our app: Gressini, a breadstick with prosciutto.Meal: Frittata which was lovely with all the flavors. Tagliatelle with bolognese was wonderful and didn't feel heavy either. Portions were a good size. My friend and I split everything.Dessert: We tried the coffee cake and the rosemary olive oil cakes. The coffee cake wasn't my favorite due to the nuts being in the middle layer but my friend enjoyed it. Rosemary olive oil cakes are light and airy with just the right amount of rosemary. We had lovely service by Walid. Gave great suggestions. Will definitely come back to try out dinner!

Osteria Mozza is a hard reservation to get but I was lucky enough to get a 5pm dinner slot on a Sunday. I didn't realize there was a shop upfront and right when I walked in I was greeted by a staff member asking how they could help me. When I shared I had a dinner reservation they directed me around the circular bar and to another hostess stand. I can't believe the Dean & Deluca used to be in that spot because it is an absolutely gorgeous space. I would love to come back and sit at the bar.We were seated fairly quickly, though the host team does still seem to be working out some kinks, and were greeted right away by our wonderful waiter. He walked us through the menu and answered some questions we had. We split the Nebbiolo pour and it was dry and perfect. For our meal we did the following:- Focaccia Di Recco with Proscuitto di Parma added on- Shaved Brussels Sprouts- Ricotta & Egg Raviolo- Rigatoni alla carbonara- Charred Broccolini- Butterscotch BudinoAll of the food was delicious and this sounds crazy but the two standout dishes for me were the two vegetable dishes. The Brussels sprouts were light, fluffy and oh-so-lemony. The broccolini was charred perfectly and also had a delicious lemon flavor. Can you tell I like lemon? The focaccia is very big and was too much for two people so we were unable to finish it. It is crispy, buttery and cheesy. The rigatoni alla carbonara had the classic tastes with extra crispy pancetta. And the ricotta and egg raviolo was simply gorgeous. When we cut into it, the yolk poured out and it was so rich, creamy and buttery. We rounded out our meal with dessert and I've never had a budino before but I loved it. It was light and fluffy yet rich and decadent. The only thing we didn't like were the tiny cookies that accompanied it. Overall, it was a very good meal but I do have to point out that it was a VERY salty meal. We were guzzling down water, which was 2-3 sips from the small glasses, but the staff were quick to refill. Even when I got home I was still drinking a ton of water and I woke up with swollen fingers. The service was excellent from our server to everyone who presented the food and cleared our plates. As I mentioned earlier, I'd love to come back to sit at the bar and try a cocktail, some other dishes and probably the Tiramisu!

I highly recommend this restaurant--11/10! I've been eager to try it since it opened, and I was thrilled to finally secure a late reservation while my friends were visiting, despite the weekend reservations(via Resy) being tough to come by. Even though we arrived late due to some unexpected protests, the host and manager were incredibly accommodating, and the kitchen staff had already begun to wind down for the evening. We enjoyed two pasta dishes, a whole fish, and a dessert--all at surprisingly reasonable prices for DC. Our friendly waiter enhanced the experience in a warm atmosphere, complete with soft music and dim lighting. It felt like a cozy spot in Europe, and I even witnessed a couple slow dancing near their table! My favorites were the oxtail pasta "Mafaldine" and the apple crisp dessert, both freshly made to order and served piping hot. This place is definitely a charming choice for a date night or an elevated girls' night out.
