Old Town Sandwich Shop

I visited the Old Town Sandwich Shop (located on Peyton Street, right off of King Street) for lunch (take-out) recently. It isn't too far of a walk from where I live in Alexandria and it was a nice day to take a stroll and visit this place for a good sub. I ordered the Steak and Cheese sub, as well as the Meatball sub. Both were delicious and reasonably priced! At under $8 per sandwich, that's a pretty nice deal. They're a pretty standard deli, with the customary chips stand and fridge with water, sodas, etc. They do have a nice variety of hot and cold sandwiches, as well as wraps, salads, soups, etc. It's a no frills deli. They do close early (the sign said they were closing at 3:00 p.m. on the day I visited), so do be aware of that and make sure to check their hours before visiting. In all, a good experience!

I've been to Old Town Sandwich Shop a few times when I've been in the office during the last year, and everything I've had has been solid. The sandwiches, bulgogi special, etc. There's also plenty of selection of chips, soda, and other things. It's a solid spot to go for lunch in the area.

Went here for lunch today. Wanted to pick up something fast. I order a turkey lettuce tomato on rye it was really good. At first the lady that took my order was a little stand offish but the more we talked she lighten up. Just a reminder CUSTOMER SERVICE is EVERYTHING!

I stopped by to grab something to eat for lunch on a rainy week day. I had passed by this deli many times coming from the hair salon and always wanted to stop in and finally I did today. I was greeted by very friendly staff and a clean establishment. It took me a while to decide what I want to eat because there were both hot and cold sandwiches as well as daily specials. I finally decided on the tuna melt and enjoyed it immensely. I'll definitely be back for the bibimbap, bulgogi or a daily special. Great old school deli in Old Town.

This place has the most affordable breakfast sandwiches in the area! They're well-made. Now I've never been into the shop itself, usually order from a delivery service. Are usually order two breakfast sandwiches and a coffee, just because I need to get it close to $10 and that ends up costing just under $10. Where can you get that, except for fast food maybe. I'm glad I found there's little little spot, as much as I've been down in old town I've never noticed it.

Two stars for convenience, as this is the only place on the block. Everything else falls flat. Walked by the Old Town Sandwich Shop a few times and decided to check it out after seeing the overall good reviews on Yelp. Saw that they had the typical assortment of deli items, and decided to grab the gyro on pita with a small bag of chips. I must say, I was shocked to see the total come to around $11 when I rang up. Took a second look at the menu board and yep, a $7.99 right next to the gyro. "Dang," I thought, "this better be the best gyro ever..." Unfortunately, it was just a few strips of formerly frozen pre-pack gyro meat and some sad lettuce, onions, and tomatoes atop a soggy pita.I hate to write a bad review of a small local business trying to get by, but it's simply not worth the money.

For having been in business 17 years, this place is doing something right... and it's obvious. I have to agree with Elizabeth... this place was great, and I too plan to be a repeat customer. I found this sandwich shop on a search for Korean food in the area, and was surprised to find it sells Korean bulgogi (which is the Wednesday daily special - so others know). Even though it wasn't the daily special when I went (Saturday), they still made it for me! But even if they hadn't, no worries because they have a great selection of hot and cold subs, sandwiches, pitas, wraps, and other entrees and daily specials that looked delicious! It's almost overwhelming the number of options they have. In addition... plenty of options on sides (such as potato chips, crackers, cookies, brownies, etc) and beverages. There's also a breakfast menu until 11am.The workers were super friendly (the kind you want to claim as your 2nd moms and aunts), a special treat for anyone with a longing for Korea.

Great quality food for good price and fast service. Perfect for job sites breakfast or lunch spot

Bought a sausage and egg burrito this morning. The owner made it and it's the third time I was unsatisfied. The this morning was super fucking greasy. This may have been a way for the owner (latin America) to keep me from coming there. I'm a "black" person. I come there every morning. The other woman who works there is a good and consistent cook. I think the owner is a racist. Just my thought.

They have great sandwiches here among some other lunch items. The breakfast really isnt the best, but it's ok. Owners must be korean since theres a few korean items on the lunch menu, which are all good.
